  1. Good god don't any of you have any balls, do you enjoy bending over and letting any Thai give it to you, pathetic!

    Here's the next victim.

It's not about having balls and bending over...it's all about life in a country that we are not originally from. It's about compromising... It's about learning to live in a different culture than our own. If you are not willing to compromise or learn the culture and want to live by your standards without a care in the world for the country you live in (Thailand), then why stay here? Why not just go back to your own country?

It's people like you who cause all the problems and then place the blame on others.

  2. Definitely should have paid the parking fee...if you live long enough in Thailand, you know what must be done, but I do believe 40 baht is too much for a few minutes. Assuming the British Resident is telling the truth and didn't leave the car there half the evening while he went down to his local watering hole, I would have negotiated the 40 down to 20, and left. I sadly know a few who would fib about this and put on an act after leaving their car parked for several hours while they drink and in their drunkenness, create a scene over stupid things such as parking fees.

If a simple solution would have been thought out instead of dismissing the attendant, the attendant wouldn't have attacked the car or this gentleman and he would have saved himself car damage, pain and medical expenses and the attendant would have slept in his bed instead of in jail.

ALL THIS FOR 40 THB! I hope it was worth it!

Without being specific and staying within the rules, I just want to say: "generation zero"--total idiots running down the road of "new barbarism." Amazing Thailand!

I'm assuming that you are speaking of the young attendant and not the elderly gentleman, but it's not generation-zero and it has nothing to do with Thailand itself. We do not live in a first world country and that comes with consequences. We do not live in a Western Culture and that brings consequences. We live in a society that most uneducated young Asian's believe that if we are Farang, we must have a money tree hidden in our backyard. Why do they think like this? It's not their fault...it's our own fault. It's all the generations that arrived here prior to your generation-zero that came to a country where they felt invincible and rich with the little they make at home, here back in the days, they were kings. Older men paying young women who could be there daughters to be with them etc... We all created this... It has nothing to do with "Generation-Zero" or even Amazing Thailand...it once was "Amazing Thailand" and they wish it could be that way again, but things change and we've put into motion what is most hated in Thailand. People lose sight of this and place the blame on the Thai's, but if you think about it, how many stupid Farang drunks are out there who cause the Thai's to hate us Farang's?

  4. Myanmar murder suspects escorted to Samui court for extended detention

KOH TAO: -- Two Myanmar rape murder suspects were this morning escorted by the police from Phangan island to Samui island for permission from the court to detain them 12 more days for further questioning.

Win or Wepew, 21, and Cholin or Soren, 21, both of Arakanese ethnics, were handcuffed and taken on board a speed boat from Phangan island to Koh Samui under protection by about 10 police, both in uniforms and plainclothes.

The travel to Ban Nathon pier on Samui took three hours. Both were later put in car to the Samui provincial court.

The police sought 12 days from the court to further detain the two suspects with reason that the 48 hours allowed by law to detain them has expired while they still needed more time for questioning.

The police said they would officially indict the two suspects on October 8.

The two suspects were seen to be very exhausted as they have been questioned throughout the night.

While at Samui police station, Win, a prime suspect, who spoke little Thai as he has been working on Koh Tao for three years, admitted to the murder of David miller and raping and killing of Ms Hannah Witheridge.

Another suspect, Mao, was not escorted to the court today as the police have booked him as the witness to the case.

Mao was playing guitar with the two suspects but left to see his girlfriend before the murder took place.

Earlier he was also charged, but after the two confirmed he was not involved, and DNA test did not match the samples collected on the victim’s body, the police freed him but still kept him as witness.

More questioning?? After confessions and re-enactment?

    Still any doubters out there?

    OK...contradictions anybody???

What a freaking show...arrested on suspicion...taken back to KT for the show...and NOW, taking them to Koh Samui to ask the court for more holding time!!!?????? What in the hell is going on?????

This has just gotten more ridiculous and I feel so sorry for the Parents of both of the victims.

    Jesus Christ!

  5. For anybody interested in reading about DNA Testing Results Timeline, here's a link and it's actually quite interesting as it breaks down each process with a timeline and continues to the next with an additional timeline etc...until such time they complete the entire process that takes about 54 hours and 15 minutes to complete the DNA process.

    http://www.patc.com/...-timeline.shtml

Now, I've also read that it is possible to have results on a DNA test in as little as 2 hours, but Thailand would need the RAPID DNA System that CODIS (FBI) has in the USA...and does not as they have all ready stated that they lack the technology.

    Here's a link describing the RAPID DNA - http://www.evidencem...sk=view&id=1115

I want this to be over as much as anybody else, but the Thai Authorities have already earned the award for Non-Trustful Police Force and with as much news coming out about tourism and statements on how KT will return to profitability in the future...after the murders are solved etc... and how they will protect future tourists etc..., it shows that what matters most is the the dent in their pocketbook if they cannot clear this up quickly. I will believe their findings 1000000000000% and PRAISE THEM and donate to the Police Fund if they allow transparency and allow a reputable third party from outside of Thailand to confirm all findings and to match those findings to the three migrant suspects they currently have in jail.

The Authorities word alone now doesn't amount to crap...I'm sorry, but it's the truth!

Pol Lt Gen Kamrob Panyakaew, chief of the Office of Police Forensic Science, said experts in Bangkok were rushing to complete the tests, though each sample takes at least 48 hours to complete.

From an article in The Bangkok Post dated 28th September

AND he said this days after Mon's alleged DNA was allagedly cleared in less than 24 hours.

In less than 24 hours... That's the whole point of my post...it is impossible unless they were using CODICS in the USA. It's all false!

  8. Thai Police find a suspect who confesses and you still don't believe it.

I know a thai person could not do these crimes.

If you honestly have been following this story from the beginning and really, but really have that much faith in the Thai Authorities as a Thai yourself, then you seriously have bad judgement and or just not wanting to admit what is actual reality.

I for one would love it for the Thai Authorities to catch these animals that did this to these two poor souls, but with all statements issued by the Police saying that YES, they did not do their job correctly and will do their best to make it right and then again to stipulate this and then all the contradictions (i.e. they've collected over 200 DNA samples to just over 40 DNA samples...what does that tell you?) etc... This investigation was stained long ago and I for one, want the culprits to be caught, but now I don't trust the Thai Authorities AT ALL! I will ONLY believe them if they are transparent and allow a third party from outside of Thailand who is reputable to confirm everything and that these 3 migrant workers are the real murderers.

Would you agree with that or do you have that much faith in the world known corruptness of the Thai Authorities here in Thailand?

  9. Is this the making of "Hangover Part 4" and if not, man oh man, the producer's of the movie Hangover just got their story line and script for free. I think this next Hangover movie will be the best out of the previous versions!

On a serious note, does anybody want to bet that this will eventually be turned into a Hollywood Movie? I'm sure Hollywood is following this very closely.

  10. This is very serious. Who will be impacted... to start with, the people he came into contact with at the Airport terminal in Liberia who travelled to every part of the world; passengers and crew on his flight; if he had a layover, everybody who he came into contact with at that airport and who continued their travels elsewhere; the airport in Dallas and passengers on their way to other places and the continued domino effect.

    This is more than serious...

When I read the article about a Thai hospital finding the Cure for Ebola, I laughed and joked as well...if there's any truth to it, and I hope there is, as it will surely be needed now.

  11. What a surprise!

Thai Authorities VOW to capture the murderer of these two young souls at any cost in any manner possible (i.e. tampering with evidence to pin it on a scapegoat). A price tag of 700,000 THB will be paid to any witness that comes forth at his/her on will by force. Thai authorities will guarantee your security that you are never to be found again after the case is closed and the money will be put to good use (i.e. saturate the market with more drugs and more smoke and mirrors to advance their investigative expertise).

THE SHOW HAS BEGUN... The chief has read Copperfield's magic handbook for dummies and is ready to show the world his stuff! He states that after studying the dummy guide, he know's his ability to work with smoke and mirror's are more advanced than Copperfield.

  12. UNBELIEVABLY RIDICULOUS!!!

It should all start with a stable political system and the tackling of corruption to under cover programs to make sure they catch those corrupt authorities to having visible police monitoring areas by foot, bicycle or horse (tourist areas and party areas) etc...

There's so much more that must be done internally...they cannot provide safety to tourists by focusing on the tourist themselves! What they speak of will push the tourist away...not bring them back.

Why would I go to a country as a tourist where I must wear a wristband for my security?!

My eye's are wide open now and I don't like what I see.

Thank you Thailand for opening my eyes.

  13. ..."he stated that there was no credence to the rumors that there were mafia in operation on the island"...

The deputy pm fits well into the investigation. There's mafia in all tourist destinations.

And then there's good old Panya: "He"..."was confident that the police have acquired all the necessary evidence to accurately identify the suspects." Again??? "All that remain was for at least two witnesses to come forward to make the case a solid one." That can be arranged. Where and when does he want them?

How utterly helpless the RTP are. It's not even hilarious, just terribly saaddening. Especially for the families of the victims. I will never ever go to Koh Tao.

Not ever going to Koh Tao because of this is ridiculous. Every Thai island has some form of Mafia so maybe you should just leave Thailand. It's still safer here than anywhere in Europe or the US...Heinous crimes happen everywhere...Corruption is also rampant everywhere.Perhaps the politicians and police are so good at it in the West that they haven't been caught yet!!!
Can't actually remember when two tourists were hacked to death on the beaches of Southern France or the Californian coast. Anyway you obviously think it is perfectly safe to go to Koh Tao with these maniacs still on the loose. Go ahead, make my day.

The US is a far more dangerous country for tourists in regard to violent crime, than Thailand.

"In 1991, 35,000 tourists were either mugged, raped, or robbed in Florida and since then its gone up." is one statistic, although it really refers to "visitors" rather than just bona fide tourists. However, a more precise figure is "In the last 12 months, nine tourists have been killed in Florida." (1993)

    http://www.fumento.com/crime/florida.html

Either way, making out Thailand to be some kind of murder capital for tourists is just wrong.

As a tourist, would you feel safer in the USA or in Thailand? If you say Thailand...why?

Your statistics may be correct, but take a look at the size of the USA or Florida compared to Thailand.

As for me, I have called Thailand my home for over 9 years now. I recall many conversations with my family where I stated that I would never leave Thailand...I love it too much. I still have a warm feeling in my heart for Thailand, but after this KT tragedy and the incompetence of the Thai Authorities, I now find myself thinking about potentially moving to Singapore...not just for my sake, but mainly for the security of my wife and daughter. I hate thinking like this because I really do love Thailand, but I will not feel safe until many things change in this country and corruption begins to be tackled. I feel like I was living here blindly...not wanting to see the real dangers, but this KT situation has really opened my eyes. I really, really hate this feeling since I had made my decision to stay forever and now...

  14. It went from OMG on the tragedy, to a joke because of how the Authorities are handling this investigation and then to throw in the Minister of Tourism into the mix who seems to have some sort of weird say so in this investigation to just pure sadness that the Authorities have screwed up this investigation so badly that an amateur studying a Dummies Guide to Murder Investigation could have done a better job.

Constant CONTRADICTIONS, which I would have assumed they would have caught on and began to watch what they say to not stir up more problems, but it is clear that they do not learn from their mistakes.

    Here's a quote from today's article:

"Meanwhile, on Koh Tao Island, forensic officers from the 8th Region Police have gathered no less than 40 DNA samples from foreign labor as well as local Thais to compare to those found on the body of the deceased."

So, they've only gathered NO LESS THAN 40 DNA SAMPLES huh...who has read that they've gathered 200+ DNA samples throughout this investigation? Now it's no less than 40...

The authorities have screwed this up so bad that nothing they do will make up for it. Unless, if they decide to be transparent and bring in a third party, such as the FBI or Scotland Yard to confirm their findings.

  15. They should first begin with a substitution to that FUGLY looking model representing the article. She's ugly but acting like she's all that and more...someone lied to this poor girl.

Now seriously...I can see it happening as the industry needs an Asian representative and since Asia is the future, Thailand has an opportunity, but it all depends on many situations that have impact on the younger generation that will allow them the opportunity to act upon this article. It's not impossible though...

    Good Luck!

  16. Somyot said the police commander in each province will be responsible for coordinating the security measures by inviting related agencies, which includes immigration police, railway police and tourist police to work together.

It's like a shark, a duck and a hamster working together. Lol.

Very well put! Short, simple and to the point...and hilarious! LOL!!!!!

  17. "Ms Kobkarn said she had studied the problems of Ko Tao before visiting the island and confirmed all sides were doing their best in solving the murder case."

Come on...the Minister of Tourism and Sports reassuring us that they are doing their best to solve the murders. What a joke!

Their timing is impeccable! Maybe they're getting confused...typically when translating Thai to English and vice-versa it comes out backwards.
