Voltaren tablets however ... 1 tablet completely removed all pain and discomfort for about 24 hours. But as noted in other posts not recommended for long-term use.

late last year had an extreme attack of gout. brother told me to get Voltaren (took for one week) which had no effect whatsoever. went to a gout clinic where i was told that it would have no effect on my symptoms as Voltaren is very basic

Had an injection which had a minimal effect before getting even worse upon which i then went to the hospital  as the pain had become truly unbearable and could hardly walk.

was given colchicine, Allopurinol and diclofenac in a liquid spray bottle(can be brought as a gel off the shelf) in any pharmacy. The spray is expensive by comparison

If you google diclofenac it can be dodgy if taken in tablet form over too long a period (which is why the doctor would not give me the tablets) but when used as a gel or liquid on the affected area the dangers are minimised a hundred fold. In other words there is little to no danger when used in this manner.

In Oz if you have a gf, have 10 times more assets than her, and live together long enough to be considered de facto partners...then the partner can claim half of your assets, including your super. Don't need to be married, it is enough to be living together long enough, AFAIK 6 months or an year.

I cannot say this is not true in Australia but the notion of a common law wife is a fallacy and not recognised in UK law. I know this to be true as a previous partner tried to grab a share of my house. i was already aware of this fact ,however, the lawyer told her that unless her name was on specific utility bills, council tax bills, mortgage statements that proved that she had contributed to the house she would be entitled to nothing. We even had a child together. The house was mine previously and she provided nothing to the house and its upkeep. when i pulled her up about it she claimed her parents forced her to go to see a lawyer.

I am not sure if that is normal practice, reason being that if you only have one pipe what about "cave ins". I believe it's much better to have PVC pipes all the way down but that is of course not doable for 4000 THB only ????  Maybe some better informed member can comment on this.

According to the guys in Thaiwatsadu, everyone in the village, and the guy that did it, that is absolutely normal practice, I appreciate your logical reasoning and I questioned this myself but the guy doing it said it was not necessary,

That does not change the fact that having a pipe all the way down is by far the better option as it was also stated that if you choose to have a submersible pump they can sometimes be difficult to remove, The only reason i can see, if that would be an issue, is if debris was obstructing retrieving the pump

That is very cheap, did you only put 1 pvc pipe in?

And if I read it correctly 12 x 3 = 36 meters deep? Ours they found water at 40 meters but they drilled through till 50 meters and it never ever run dry in all the years we have it, the only thing is that the water is a bit hard, but nothing a filter can’t solve.

yes only 1 PVC pipe was used. This is normal practice as it is only used as it goes through the top soil/earth( i presume) after which you will hit rock and does not need any piping. It comes up looking like scalpings.

I believe they only go deeper so that you have less chance of running out of water in particularly dry seasons as the water level drops obviously.

Yes you did read correctly 12x3 36 metres. they hit water before that, obviously, but I have no idea at what depth

Around here (Buriram) we paid 20k for a 50 Meter well. But that said we paid for all the PVC pipes ourself.

The Well is 6" in diameter and has never run dry in all the years (3+) that we have it.

Just had a well drilled in Surin  they turned up with 12 x 3 metre rods  ( used all of them) so I guess this is quite normal. We brought the 5 or 6 inch pipe ourselves which is approx. 4 metres long (only about 1000baht if I remember correctly)

The cost to drill the well was 4000baht

GF's friend  was having it done and stated it was a very good price so if we wanted one, get it done now

We needed water to build a house on the land, have yet to place a pump onto it as decided that the contractors can bring their own pump to use, rather then destroy ours over the next 10 months

You are obviously the epitome of goodness and never been arrested. Police are not there to babysit everyone brought into custody which is why shoe laces, belts etc are removed so that people can not harm themselves,  custodians are checked on, maybe on an hourly basis.

He was placed into a detention cell to calm down  according to reports indicating that he had already upset a few people

Bad things can happen in the spur of the moment when you upset people, both in custody or not in custody, especially in Thailand.

Still have the religious festival.  Still have organised water fights.  Stop the people in random places throwing water at people just going about their day who don't want to be soaked.

Plenty of Thai people don't like the last part, they're just a lot more quiet about it than foreigners are.

You have answered your own question. The Thais that don't like it, except it, unconditionally.

Unsurprisingly it is mainly the older generation but they will still drink and be merry, just in a setting where they will not be splashed

Standard practice here..........house addresses being circulated now as to where to go and  get their money......each house has an observer to check they don't collect more than one hand out.

The Shinawatra family are the only chance of winning an election as they are loved by the rural masses but everyone knows that money is key.

300 baht offered in the last election for everyone in the village to turn up to their speech (they could of still voted the other way, I believe, but hardly anyone bothered to turn up to the other candidates speech's). More than half turned up and when you factor in all the other villages it must of cost millions upon millions.

No surprise that party won by a landslide

I stated then why would they vote for them knowing it was so corrupt.

I lent money to GF's uncle to buy votes in the local village elections just to be the under boss of the village headsman. It cost him 40k/50k baht to buy the votes but it guaranteed him a paid job for 4 years. (touch and go, he won by 2 votes with 3 void votes that had voted for his opponent).

Its a completely normal and expected practice. He just spent more money than the other candidate, who, with a much larger family in the village and sponsored by the headsman believed they would win easily.

  9. An air of authenticity must be given in order that an impression of fairness and democracy is perceived for the upcoming election

If the end result of the election cannot be manipulated, don't worry, we have already installed 250 senators so that we/I will be voted in to be the next prime minister and still have complete control.

    Everyone a winner.

Are you able to view the location of the Uber Eats delivery or the restaurant?

Banks are not interested in that information they happily accept that a quota of fraudulent transactions will occur. 3 times i have had purchases(internet) on my card and been refunded each time . The last one was for online shopping from a well known supermarket which just by sheer chance i had noticed that it had only just gone through.

I phoned and explained that all they need to do is contact the supermarket find the address and get the police to arrest them when they hand over the shopping. i was basically told that it was too much hassle and they weren't interested but i would receive a refund in the next hour, which i did.

Do you have a non-o visa entry now. You will need that to apply for the one year extension.

Edit: Have you looked at this topic on the Family and Children Forum?

yes i have a non o visa entry now which has been stamped to the 29th Jan 2023 I have read this topic on numerous occasions which gave me cause to believe it would be a simple process.

At the Amphur i was shown an A4 paper that had a copy of some ones passport and the translated copy next to it

There was also a stamped letter from the UK embassy  validating the passpor.t  I don't know if it was a separate letter or on the back of the copy/translated passport as there was no stamp covering the passport

In other words it might of been a photo copy of the other side.

I think the topic you mention needs to be updated as although you do not need a lawyer you will need translated copies of your passport, could this be done at trendy office?

  12. I have put this here as not directly connected to immigration

So i have finally arrived back in Thailand with a Non 'O' with the intension of getting an extension regarding being a parent of a Thai child.

This was talked about last year but the conditions of the Kor Ror 11 were not mentioned

My first hurdle started when i went to get the Kor Ror 11. They need my passport translated and stamped/verified by the UK embassy.

Can i do this all at Trendy office building Bangkok or do i need to make an appointment with the UK embassy? obviously time being the factor

I am happy to make the long trip from Issan to Bangkok to get things moving quickly as i know that once i have the Kor Ror 11 immigration has to send all the relevant documents to Khon Kean who issue the extension and this can take up to a month

My only other hurdle as such was when i tried to explain to immigration that i just wanted to renew my extension each year, much like any other yearly extension

I stated that i would get a re-entry permit upon which the immigration officer stated "cannot"

So my second question is why can i not get a re-entry permit or do I not need one (unlikely) as this will very much make my plans redundant.

Sorry to disappoint but my first introduction to Thailand, I did not seek either brothels, brides nor orgies. I was introduced to Thai girls who treated me as a BF

By your second introduction had you then wised up to realise what you were actually missing?

Who knows what it is exactly that attracts one person to another.

So what your really trying to say when you state you did lots of research, you came to the opinion (in your own words) 'that as you were fat and not that particularly wealthy' there was still a reasonable chance you could snatch a woman in Thailand as your limited funds would still impress.

Lets face it once you've seen one temple your seen them all.

    Thanks.

I was wondering if I could just do a walk in as haven't been resident in the UK for  over seven years now.

No you have to book an appointment. The fact you have been out of the UK for 7 years should make no difference.  Last year upon returning from Thailand i phoned up and went to a local fire station where they were doing the covid jabs, that was only 3 or 4 days before my appointment. Its all pretty well organised wherever you go to make sure it a quick in and out and minimal waiting.

i wouldn't mind another Pfizer booster myself as I am going back to the UK in a few weeks and the infection numbers are increasing there. I might try a get a bivalent shot while there.

As long as you are over 55 you can get a booster shot within about a week in the UK. I went through my doctor but you can ring the covid line and go to a walk in centre.

I believe they have been modified to cater for the new variants. mine was Pfizer/BioNTech

Did she mention the over 14 thousand Russian speaking Ukrainians killed at the hands of their own government since 2014. Can she enlighten me on the minsk accord or the orange Revolution?

I can only assume you are pro Russian or pro Putin. A better analysis of your statement can be found here https://bitterwinter.org/donbass-did-ukraine-kill-14000-pro-russians/

from my observation it seems the  reason there has always been fighting within the Donbass region is due the fact that it is filled with 45+% of migrants from Russia who have decided they now want to be part of Russia. Enlighten me if I'm wrong.

    You obviously think that's ok?

Your statement has no bearing on the atrocities that Putin has committed. A man who obviously has no morals in regards to whether the civilians he has killed or is killing, by bombing civilian buildings, are Pro- Russian or Ukrainian.

There is, and never will be, no acceptable reason for his actions

Not to mention those poor souls burnt alive in Odessa. Maybe the Nazi Ukrainian military might be a clue.

Surprised no one has mentioned it yet, but if you are not married you have zero parental rights unless you go through the courts and do the paternity thing. Not that hard to do, process about 3 months and u need a lawyer...but it is a lot simpler if she supports it. If not you may need to do DNA testing. Once you get your judgement papers are lodged at the Amphur. Your name on the birth certificate gives you no rights whatsoever.

Absolutely true, but this process has been documented here before, a lawyer is not required for this process as long as you have her approval and goes with you to the Amphur.

I will be going through this process next month
