Our Mu-X has a rear, roof mounted entertainment screen, could prove problematic.

There's a reason most cars here don't have sun (or moon) roofs, they let the sun in and make the interior hot.

Nice car in general, hope you have the 3 litre, we test-drove the 1.8, gutless beast ????

It's a real shame there's no BEV or PHEV available.

This is a pic of the interior, doesn't look like there is a screen. ????

    Maybe a different model.

Thanks, Yes I went for the Ultimate 3.0 4WD.
Could you by any chance recommend a good source for accessories and customisation?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi all,

I am about to purchase my first car, although I am not exactly young.
It will be an Isuzu MUX. Please send your congratulations ????.

My question for you all is.... do you know a good, super reliable shop where I can install a panoramic sunroof? (BKK-Chonburi area)

It is a brand new car, I have never even seen it myself, so I want to do a good job and I don't want to go to the local shop down the road, I'd like a proper expert shop that does this sort of stuff in a safe and professional manner.

I expect some fire back on insurance issues, on the viability of the idea and on the safety of an after market panoramic roof. I will read them carefully but please try to focus on my question above, which is not 'whether' to install one or not, but 'where' I can get the job done.

Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated.

No it hasn't. I just tried and got the following message....

Please provide the personal information below to complete account authentication

    I’m a Thai citizenI’m a foreigner

    Apologies img

    Apologies

Due to regulations, Lazada wallet is now open for Thai citizens only.

Please contact Customer Support for further details.

That's strange. I have been going through the obnoxious refund process for months and then recently a friend told me that it was now working for foreigners too. So I did what you just did... I stated that I am a foreigner, I put in my passport number and I activated my wallet and received a refund immediately.

unfortunately we have another double standard here in thailand... basically foreigners cannot have a wallet it is closed to foreigners so any refunds with lazada are now a major major pain in the ass... better to use shoppee now i will be switching over

Actually things have changed in the past months and it is now possible to have a wallet. I activated mine in minutes without pain, so I guess the OP was unlucky.

  6. Hi,

I am looking for a school for a 3 year old in Korat.
Thinking of Montessori, but not necessarily.
Does anyone have first hand experience with bilingual-international kindergarden level that wants to share, even privately if they prefer?
I should say it's a Thai boy, with some bilingual school exposure.

I am interested in a quality programme and whether the school has English native teachers, among other things.

    Thanks in advance.

OP, do you live here ?

If you do, where do you live.

Did you buy land, build house or rent ?

How much do you spend every month ?

Do you have pensions ? Or do you spend your savings ?

If you can answer any of the above you should be qualified to answer your "Friends" questions.

Why didn't your friend join and ask himself ?

And lastly, this has been asked so many times it's unreal.

And why would you reccomend 100,000 baht a month, outrageous, I and many others have a great time on half that, just need to know where to go ????????

    ????

    So unhelpful.

How on earth has the baby tested positive and not the parents.

And who on earth, at this stage, is bringing a 5 month old baby to Thailand, having to undergo quarantine, and these PCR tests? Horrific for a small baby. If this family had an emergency reason to return back to Thailand they would have come back months ago.

    Shocking.

A collection of thoughts from your stomach, I hope not from your brain.

1 - How the baby was positive and not parents? He contracted it and the parents didn't.

2 - Maybe Thailand is better than India?

3 - how on earth can you assume that if they had emergency reasons they could have come long ago? How you know their circumstances?

4 - you are easily and mistakenly shocked.

  9. I don't have evidence written on any site except direct experience from a close friend who is now doing quarantene in bkk, but i can state positively that he was able to come back with a simple nonO and re-entry permit.

Coe from thai authorities in Italy. I read somewhere that the thai embassy website of paris states it is possible, but i didn't check.

    Surely my friend succeeded.

If he actually said that on a public platform and can be identified, he must, IMO be a bit thick to do so. Lives in LOS, but apparently knows little about how things work there. Perhaps he needed to get out of his digital bubble and smell the traffic fumes.

From your post you nake it look lije he never gets out of his armchair, which isn't the case.

The tree pictured being offloaded from the truck appears to be a Ficus species, probably Ficus microcarpa, Chinese banyan.

I caution about buying these field grown large trees in Thailand, there are some potential problems with the way they are traumatized and dug out with an extremely small root ball in relation to the maturity of the tree. All the absorbing roots are lost with the balling process, creating extreme physiological stress. The cut roots often become infected with soil borne pathogens, causing wood decay infections which progress up into the root collar in two to five years. The decay can cause loss of conduction of water and nutrients, and can also cause structural failure as the tree grows in size.

When I was doing tree care consultations in Chiang Mai, I had many calls for trees that were purchased like this for an instant effect, but then after a few years in the ground were in decline or had extreme root and root crown decay, or had toppled due to root rot.

It's better to start with younger trees, select a good location with good growing conditions, water and fertilize properly and allow them to develop a healthy root system. Usually they will overtake the growth of the poorly managed larger trees within a few years, and be healthier and more structurally sound in the long term.

Thank you. Actually your reply comes a couple of days after I bought two magnificent ones, I hope they will be OK.
I bought them in Ko Kruet, 10km from Korat City centre.
The biggest one is, I was told a 12 year old: Ton KraTon (Careya Sferica)
The second one is, I was told about 10 year old: Ton Kenaa (dolicandrone serrulata).
Any congratulations or advice or correction to names and ages I will be happy to receive. ????

I very frequently drive up from Chonburi to Khao Yai, and I usually do by starting off aiming for Nakhon Nayok, and then through Ban Na and join the Saraburi to Korat road about 10 km east of Saraburi, near the cement factory.

On the Ban Na to Saraburi Road at the Ban Na end  (The 3222 Road?) there are several places where people seem to be growing quite large trees, like the one in your photo, often in old truck tyres around the roots, and I quite often get stuck behind trucks carrying these trees on their load bed. So I suppose these trees are for sale, as they are not growing them for fun!

    Don't know if this helps.

Thank you so much, I resolved. There is an area near Korat called Pak Kruat. Plenty of trees there, bought two.

There is no one answer to that question as it will differ from area to area. The hardest to dispute method would be that your first unit would be the unit you have a yellow house book for. If you don't have a yellow house book then it might be the unit you purchased first.

The only way of checking is to discuss the matter with the district office.

    Thanks.

You can own as many condos as you want.

You will receive a precalculated invoice from the District Office, based on the size of your second unit.

To pay you just take the invoice and cash to the District Office. They will take the payment and give you a receipt.

Lovely, how to determine which of the two is my second unit please?

You can buy more than one condo no problems but you will incur more of the wrath from the "dont buy a condo" crowd.

There is a minimal land tax for 2nd properties, 0.02%. I think the Government is playing around with that as part of post covid relief.

Thanks. I am not so worried about the 0.02% as much as I would be in calculating it and paying it, as I do not do any form of tax return at the moment. Will they just send the bill to me in the post or how does it work?

  16. I am reading this:
    https://www.siam-legal.com/realestate/thailand-property-how-to.php

Can foreigners buy property in Thailand?

In Thailand, a foreigner may only own a condominium in his/her own name. If the foreigner wishes to acquire land and build a house, he/she should obtain a long term lease on the land (for a period not exceeding 30 years each term). Read more about "Leases in Thailand".
