  1. Thank you, I had come to that conclusion I'm afraid. For anyone that reads, I still think it's an amazing scooter for both city and long distance.
  2. You need evidence from the bank (it's a specific template they have) which shows your money were transferred from abroad. Visa on arrival, see wikipedia, is a visa granted to some nationalities. Most Europeans don't need visa at all, they just enter. They are exempt from visa. Imagine a visa being a sticker that gets applied to your passport. VOA subject citizens, when they arrive, they go to buy the sticker at the VOA counter, then they queue at immigration and get their entry stamp. You don't need the sticker, you just queue at immigration snd get 45 days entry stamp. In Chonburi if you apply for retirement visa you also need copy of id card of owner of your condo and signed copy of the house book (called tabien baan).
  3. Hi, I am buying a brand new Forza 350 and want to fit front and rear camera right away. Could someone please recommend a shop in Bangkok where I can have it done, and whether it's a costly job? Thanks
  4. Helping out a friend buying a second hand scooter and finding that there are lots of bikes without papers. Some of them have just a copy of the green book, whilst others have nothing at all. Just curious to know why that is. Thanks!
  5. Hi everyone. I am about to buy a new Forza, the 2023 model. I remember that my first impression of the 2019 Forza was that suspensions weren't that good, so I fitted some YSS suspesions without perceiving much difference anyway. My question to you is: do you think it's worth changing suspensions on my new bike? Will it make a difference? And if yes, which suspension brand or model would you recommend? I am not interested in anything sophisticated that needs particular adjustments, just want a good feeling when on bumpy roads in Bangkok. Thanks in advance.
  6. Define 'Live', including your tastes, your needs, your vices, your length of stay, your age, your family plans and I will answer you in detail.
  7. That's not very helpful. GPS may or may not be aware that the immigration office at Chamchuri square only deals with certain types of applications, so it's a legitimate request he is putting forward, to avoid ending up to the wrong place.
  8. 0 sympathy in front of death makes me wonder if you feel invincible and what you would do if your insurance company refused to pay and you couldn't pay anymore after a few months of intensive care. You don't need to believe in karma to understand that it may hurt you back one day if you exclude sympathy from your sentiments so easily.
  9. Whilst I appreciate the do good attitude, I need to let this out. So you condone bicycles because they are a bit of excercise but warn against the use of motorbikes. Seems like an arbitrary way of warning. Bicycles can be as dangerous, and are a way of life, just like motorbikes. You crashed after 3 minutes on a bike and got scared, which is understandable. I drove hundreds of thousands of miles in 40 years, many in Thailand and never any issue. Motorbikes are as avoidable as bikes. Many things we do are avoidable and not doing them reduce risk, but we do them anyway and accept the risk. Sure, driving without experience or under the influence is wrong, and equally surely even 100 years experience doesn't immunise anyone, but hearing an emotional well wishing rant from someone without any motorbike experience is a bit hard for some.
  10. Many years ago I exchanged some foreign currency into Deutsch Marks, it was about 100000 DM cash, which I took to another bank to deposit. When I arrived at the other bank they put them in the counting machine and said that there was a few hundreds DM in excess... It couldn't have been, as I had no other DM on me or anywhere. They were counted several times, by hand and with the machine and it appeared that there really were more than I expected. I took it as a gift ????
  11. Had covid 6 weeks ago. Heavy flu-like symptoms. Was negative within 6 days but I still have shortness of breath six weeks on, improving though.
  12. There is always a reason for giving an explanation to everything, to reassure yourselves that it wouldn't happen to you.
  13. Yes sure, you would have knocked them all down and saved the princess. Wake up.
