  1. What a sad, sad thread. Asean now should be renamed Sexpats dot com after this one
  2. So many "upstanding citizen members" of this forum making flippant comments about this, imagine it was YOUR wife or daughter being spied on you SPOS
  3. I think a lot of forum members would be vying for the world records "most criminal cases solved from a barstool" and "most derogatory remarks made about their host country"
  4. NS Sherlock, my point is your statement "vile Thai people ... they really are the worst kind." reflects your disdain for Thai people.
  5. Why single out Thais, a lot of this goes on in the"perfect" west you are from, but hey ignore that and attack Thailand and Thais
  6. What a disgusting comment from Asean now, if the victim had been a "farang" forum member you wouldn't be so smug and mocking.
  7. Maybe the long delay is deliberate, to get people to subscribe to these channels thus increasing revenue?
  8. Now Tuesday and still no newsletter?
  9. RIP to those killed, and condolences to families. For those berating/ mocking/ belittling_ Thailand_ https://www.hazardexonthenet.net/article/151491/Rain-leaking-into-US-metal-plant-causes-explosion-on-contact-with-molten-aluminium.aspx https://www.timesonline.com/story/news/crime/2022/01/16/explosions-hussey-copper-caused-molten-copper-firefighters-stop-no-injuries/6549824001/
  10. The usual mockers are out and about. Check the prices paid for stud bulls, dogs etc. in places like Oz and the US. Even for a small vial/straw of sperm from some of them is obscenely expensive.
  11. Could I please have your address and could you also leave out 90K for me to nick as obviously it won't be worth the effort to you to report. (90 x Crisp 1000 baht bills is fine)
  12. What a stupid, as usual anti Thai comment. As an Aussie, I can testify to "blowouts" not through lack of maintenance etc. but through climate and junk on the road and road conditions.
  13. RIP to the deceased I'm looking at the photo and noticed a lot of AN sleuths have assumed he was speeding. The photo was from a news report earlier to which someone posted a video of the actual crash (CCTV). Excessive speed wasn't to blame and there was no other vehicle involve or in fact NEAR the accident so that rule out the Thai bashers from blaming the roads or a conspiracy of other road users. It actually looks like he may have fallen asleep
  14. I know from personal experience how devastating the loss of a child is and condolences to the family. However, instead of lynching the driver, why not stop and ask why the mother let a 3 year old cross the road by himself and why did she not race to save the child if she saw the whole thing happen? There's also a good chance the little one darted out from behind a motorbike or car parked at the side of the road giving the driver no time to stop.
  15. This is a good initiative despite the bemoaning of some which will undoubtedly start on here. As already pointed out, it's not actually "fostering". It is rather "sponsoring" the upkeep and care of animals being rehabilitated or used for breeding. Similar projects in many countries around the world with good success.
  16. Ummmm, yes, it is actually. The response was about the issue of lifejackets. As this was on a commercial fishing boat, I thought that by explaining the difficulty of working on a commercial boat whilst wearing one may explain the reason. It's actually irrelevant as to the sea/ocean (location) Bang Saen, Southern Ocean or otherwise
  17. The comments in this thread, almost promoting the cruelty to animals has proved once again what a sad sorry bunch of people inhabit Asean Now, whilst proclaiming they are nice people just trying to get on in life. How very tragic
  18. Having worked on commercial fishing boats for many years (lobster, tuna long liners) in some of the roughest seas (Southern Ocean, Indian Ocean), I can tell you they are a hindrance to your daily work and quite impractical / unworkable when working with heavy gear. If a freak wave capsized the boat, it's a tragic accident that sometimes happens. Perhaps walk a mile in someone's shoes or research a topic before saying something which ends up showing your ignorance. R.I.P to the deceased.
  19. R.I.P. Khun Sorapong. My wife, son and I met him at Wat Luang Phor Toh, in Sikhio, Nakhon Ratchasima which he founded and funded. He was very humble and spent quite a few minutes chatting to all 3 of us and posed for some pictures. The temple and grounds are incredible. I hope someone continues his legacy there.
