I'd give it until your next billing cycle, but look for the transaction against the actual refund date.

Thanks for that. Yes, Lazada does say to wait for next billing cycle so I will do that. Until your reply I was uncertain as the daily activity of my card shows nothing like you say. Hopefully it works out and I can continue to use their service.

  2. I bought a prepaid item online late November and paid for it with a Thai bank credit card. The Lazada vendor then immediately cancelled the order within 5 minutes as they decided they had no stock after my order.

    Q. Lazada now says the refund was processed to my card a day later and if I don't see the refund on my account I need to call my bank. Has anyone experienced this? Is calling the bank futile? Surely its up to Lazada to ensure I get refunded?

Its only a small amount so I have not wasted time with my bank or Lazada following up so far except I can see online my refund is not on my credit card.  I will follow up though when I get time to see if I am ever going to use Lazada again?

I checked online it says laptops are not subject to duty but would I be charged extra by the customs beyond the 7% VAT?

I've bought a few online thought no as expensive. Its 7% on any declared price of the product inc shipping costs. I have used Fedex easiest arrived on my door 5 days later - just pay them the 7%, if you use UPS for a first time it requires registering your passport ID at BKK airport before they release it.  If you have to return it, maybe DOA, then there are several documents to complete at Thai courier to re-import radio parts of the laptop back to USA - I had to do this once and got a replacement sent.

Regarding trade in value, I lost 10% on my EV after two years, pretty good I think

Pretty unbelievable I would think - assuming you didn't buy second hand to start with. Most EV's lose 10-15% year one alone and another 10% by end of year two.

Firstly I do have a sense of humour but I don’t suffer fools either if I’m wrong about something I apologise and get on with things. I’m my dealings with anything dated it has always been day month year (different order in some countries) with 4 digits for the year so 11/28 to me means 28th November.

But with all this nonsense and tit for tat about dates why hasn't anyone mentioned the OP never had a digital credit card to start as Wise doesn't have credit cards, just debit cards in select countries.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated..thanks

I just tried this and it worked in seconds. My KBank account received the amount as soon as I pressed confirm on my email. I got the email within minutes of setting up the transfer on the Bitkub web site and used Google 2fa.

I decided to transfer all my funds out of Bitkub since they are asking for KYC documents again or threatening to stop trading later in month December, I already went through that 2 years ago, and now the section for foreigners for KYC is blocked. I left 2THB in the Bitkub account but doubt I will use it again.
