I transfer regular to the same person via wise to KBANK for 2 years without any issues, but for some reason, On Monday, I did a transfer of 2,000 baht
and the recipient has not yet received the money.
I have contacted wise who have asked for the recipients Bank statement, which I have sent to wise who will investigate.
Wise app says transfer was completed successfully on the Monday.
Anyone else have a similar issue with money not received when making a transfer with WISE ?

I often use the lifecare laboratory in Pattaya for my blood tests each year.
I am wondering if there are any other alternative clinics located in the Jomtien/Pattaya that anyone has used and can recommend as an alternative clinic ?

22 hours ago, SoCal1990 said:There has been a lot of confusion and speculation regarding the recent changes to income tax laws and filing requirements in Thailand. However, in practice, the actual impact of these changes is likely to be much less burdensome than many expect. It’s possible that the authorities won’t begin actively enforcing tax laws on foreigners for at least a few years, and even then, it would likely be only if those foreigners are living in Thailand as full-time residents and fail to file tax returns altogether. For the first few years, it’s likely that nothing will happen, as the authorities will probably give it some time to see how well people are complying and whether or not they need to start enforcing any aspects of the tax laws or not on foreign residents who aren’t working.
The most likely scenario is this: if foreigners don’t get their tax filings in order after a few years, they may find themselves unable to renew their long-stay visas until they do. But even this is speculative. There’s no guarantee that the immigration and revenue departments will link their systems in such a way that one triggers the other.
While the immigration and revenue departments theoretically have access to each other’s systems, the idea that they will actively use this access to block visa renewals is still highly questionable.
As long as you file a tax return each year, you should be fine. By doing so, you demonstrate your intention to comply with the law, which is all they really expect. It’s doubtful they have the resources to start auditing individuals or scrutinizing bank accounts to track overseas transfers. File your return on time each year, and you’re unlikely to face any issues.
Even if someone were audited, it seems highly unlikely that the authorities would investigate overseas credit or debit card spending in Thailand, this is in regards to foreigners who aren’t transferring money into the country and are simply making digital payments for everything in Thailand. Those foreigners could refuse to hand over overseas banking documents, and there would be no way for the authorities to force them to do so. For local bank accounts, the Thai Revenue Department could request statements from the banks, but they have no access to overseas banking or credit card records.
Realistically, they’d likely never even bother trying to obtain overseas bank statements. So in my view, the whole debate about spending in Thailand using mainly an overseas debit card, and having to pay personal income tax on that money in Thailand is moot. Legally, yes, there are rules, but in practice, it’s straightforward: file a tax return, show that you’re playing by the rules, and you should be fine. If you’re bringing in a small or reasonable sum each year, you’re unlikely to raise any red flags regarding unpaid taxes, money laundering, or anything else. The government has limited resources and much bigger fish to fry when it comes to enforcement.
One crucial point that many seem to be overlooking is that for money to be taxable in Thailand, it must have been earned either in 2024 or sometime after that year. So, even if you transferred ฿10 million into Thailand in 2024, if you can provide an overseas bank statement from 2023 showing a balance of ฿10 million, that money wouldn’t technically be taxable anyway because it was part of your savings earned prior to 2024.

1) What does your lease agreement say about the owner giving notice to enter the premises? Do you know whether the owner had your phone number and email address while you were away?
2) Why was the lease drawn up so that you pay the agent, assuming that this is indeed the case? I think it is customary for the tenant to pay the owner directly unless the owner is not resident in Thailand and has no Thai bank account.
How do you know that the person with whom you are now dealing is actually the owner and that what they say about the agent is in fact the truth?
The Lease agreement has the owner's ID which is a foreign passport (Chinese), so guess it's why he has chosen an Agency. The new person now dealing with, planned to meet her this afternoon, so I be interested to see what happens later.

I took a trip to UK for two weeks with a suprise shock on my return that my lock was changed in my condo, and was unable to get into my condo, with a note in the door saying " Lock changed, please contact this phone number, agency has many problems, owner has not received this months rent, agency has run away, please do not transfer any more money to agency".
Luckily I arrived around 7:00pm and not early hours of the morning, called the number on the note, the person sent the new key via motobike taxi so I was able to get into my condo.
I have a 1 year contract, and have been paying my monthly rent on time each month to the agency.
Questions.
1. Can they do this, enter your premises whilst you are away and change the lock without giving any notice or informing you ?
2. If you are dealing with any agency, how can you trust the agency that your rental money is transferred to the owner ?
I am now dealing with some-one else, who I have never met, only line/whats app, phone number, any one else have any similar issues in renting using any agency ?

Hi. The LTF was discontinued at the end of 2019 and is replaced by the super savings fund (SSF). Existing LTFs can remain invested until they reach the end of the 7 year minimum term and beyond if you wish.
The SSF has a minimum investment term of 10 years. I don't think there is a maximum term. Redeeming before the minimum term incurs tax and other penalities.
If you are aged 45 or over consider retirement mutual funds (RMFs) instead as you may be able to access the money earlier.
Thanks for that, I will look into an RMF, as I am 59 years old.

I am thinking about purchasing an LTF (Long Term Equity Fund).
Is there a maximum holding period for an LTF, can you redeem anytime without any penalties ?

Many Thai plumbing systems don't have P traps or S traps that keep smells from backing up.
Edit: Also, look under your bathroom sink and see if there's a trap that keeps fumes from backing up. If it's a straight pipe into the floor, that's another source of the sewer smell.
Will this do the trick

Looking at Thai Airways (night time flight), and arrive in the morning.
Anyone have a preference ? Thai Airway vs Eva.

I'm a day before procedure and this Moviprep stuff is not working!!
Did they give you this enema on the day of surgery?
Yes, they start with you taking medicine (Laxatives), you wait for a while, for laxtives to work, bowels must be completely empty before the procedure. If laxatives don't work, they will give you an enema same day.

It can't prevent it, but definitely give early warning. And you were conscious the whole time?
Yes, and awake all the time, there is a screen, so you can watch the procedure. Most uncomfortable for me, was the preparation, the laxatives wasn't working, so they gave me an enema.

It is recommnded if you are 50+ years old, to prevent colon cancer, so doctors will recommend to have it done.
I had it done at Bumrungrad Hospital, Easy procedure, a few hours, they will give you some kind of laxative at the hospital to help empty the bowels, you go home the same day. Procedure bit uncomfortable but I think worth it, as can prevent you getting cancer.

Is the Dengue Fever so bad that she can't move or be transferred to a hospital where she is covered?
Is it possible that she is using this to convince someone else to give her money?
Hometown far away apparently so stayed where she was and paid the bill.

When Thai's need Healthcare treatment and they live in a different province from their hometown, can they get free treatment, can register in another province (Like we can do in the West) ? or is treatment
only free if they go back to their hometown where they are registered ?
Reason for the question, is that I speaking to a friend who got Denge Fever, Hospitalised for two weeks, away from Hometown and used all her savings to pay for the treatment because she was not living in her Hometown.
What if have major operation, have kids that need treatment, or even have an accident ? for us expats, most of us have private insurance to cover our treatment.

I keep a sleep diary, practice good sleep hygiene, and most nights sleep like a baby. I occasionally nap midday, but try to avoid it whenever possible because it tends to interfere with my sleep quality at night. Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise and all that.
I expressly get up at 3AM in order to exercise safely when there is no traffic. After 1-1.5 hours of exercise, I return home, have coffee, breakfast, and am ready to start yard work and gardening at day break before the sun gets too hot.
Most people in the countryside start to rise around 5 or 6 am, with many people (vendors, early shift factory workers, farmers checking irrigation pumps, etc.) starting their day even earlier, so my early rising isn't as eccentric as it might sound to you and perhaps others.
My sleep routine is similar, but am in bed, by 9:00 - 9:30 pm. Awake between 4:00 to 5:00 am everyday (no alarm clock) Having this lifestyle all my life, I think down to my fathers life in the military. I am 59 years old and no health issues so far, exercise daily, swimming, weights, walking and calisthenics. Meals consist of Fish, some carbs, vegetables and Breakfast cereal with Greek Yoghurt and Fresh Fruit with Greek Yogurt. no red meat. Stay Healthy, with plenty of sleep, exercise and watch what you eat.

I am in the process of moving to another condo.
When moving to another condo that you like, what do you with paying the deposits and 1st month rent.
Pay a booking fee with agent then sign contract, pay the 1st month rent + deposit on the day you move ? or Sign contract, pay all with Agent before the moving date ?
