  1. C'mon folks! He is a DOCTOR.......and very hi-so! She was going to leave him, think about the loss of face!!! The judges at the time said that because he had two young children they didn't want to deprive the children of both parents, sooooooo they almost didn't send him to prison at all! It was only when the lower classes complained that they put him away.

He belongs to the same clubs as the Judges for gods sake!!! TIT  thumbsup.gifwai.gif

    Doctors aren't hi so.

A real Hi So doesn't need to work.

The best doctors don't learn in Chula anyway but Mahidol.

  2. I will make this my final post because the amount of ignorance and bigotry on this subject is near overwhelming. Lets make one thing clear every dog with  "bull" or "terrier" in its name traditionally was involved in some sort of animal baiting or blood sport even the smaller breeds like yorkies and jack russels were used to kill rats and rabbits. In this respect they were all bred for their gameness and ability and in fact a majority of dogs as science tells us clearly that Genetic analysis shows that most terriers are in the "modern/hunting" genetic cluster of dog breeds developed from the same pool of ancestors in Europe in the 19th century. A few terriers are found in the "mastiff" genetic cluster with PomeraniansLabrador Retrievers, and other large-headed dogs, and the Tibetan Terrier is found in the older grouping of Asian and African dogs, along with the Pekingese.[3]    So a majority of dogs come from a fighting background. Therfore if you wish to be so quick to kill the Pit Bull it would be a good idea to kill every dog that came from that genetic pool as the all traditionally had similar abilities. Secondly pit bulls were bred for their tenacity, agility and athleticism not fighting ability. This notion that pit bulls drop out of the womb as natural born killers or fighters is preposterous. That is the equivalent of saying that every human is a Mike Tyson, Chuck Liddell or Royce Gracie. Fighting dogs like drug detection, guard, special needs and attack dogs need to be trained, conditioned, taught and instructed over a long period of time as these are learned behaviours. Labs just don't drop out as perfect guide dogs. Truth be told even after selective breeding by dog fighters ( abhorrent as the sport is) and hundreds of litters and thousands of dogs very few were actually "good" at it. The last thing I would like to say is that it is 100% the owners fault another ridiculous proposition is that pit bulls just "snap" one day. A dog by definition is a pack animal and takes all its cues from the pack leader i.e. the owner. So if the dog is in a violent aggressive pack a violent aggressive dog will be produced regardless of breed. Conversely if a dog is raised in a peaceful, happy, social environment a social happy dog will be produced again regardless of breed. It is easy to pull stuff of the net both positive and negative about these dogs. As I said before the truth lies somewhere in the middle but the onus is completely on the owner as the dog will only act on behaviours it has been taught. wai2.gif

Interesting as I recently posted about my aggressive German Shepherd in the Pets forum.

I assure you I am not aggressive in the slightest and our dog was raised in a happy, peaceful home in the countryside with 4 kids.

German Shepherds have many good points like intelligence and being good as guide dogs.

The only positive thing I can think of about Pits is as guard dogs because of their sharp teeth and unstable personality.

  3. Yep, as soon as I read your OP, I'm thinking leaving via the Airport.

Tell me why do most of these members with these style issues have only 1 post and joined within the last hour ...  whistling.gif

One of life mysteries that we may never solve.

Why do some posters feel the need to reply to every post even when they are newcomers and obvious haven't a clue yet about life in Thailand.

  4.

Now I know never to waste 3min of my life on this fellow.

The wife he describes at the first of this talk describes my wife.  I guess he picked his while he was drunk.

    Sad fellow.

I can’t say his first description matches my wife.  My wife is my equal, and we treat each other that way.  As for Mr. Looney, his name is appropriate.  I could not agree more with Khnom.  If Mallon's production is truly reflective of his experience, then one can conclude that he exercises no discretion.  I only made it as far as 2:50 into the production before I had to turn it off as a complete waste of my time.

Yes, Scott, you're a sad puppy.  Sorry to hear you have had such bad experiences with Thai women.

Ugggggh....pure satire, in this case as Andy Rooney/Looney. If you hate him, you hate me, and vice versa. Frankly, I don't give a flying F***. Hate all you want.

Bad experiences? Au Contraire. None....Sad puppy? You're a moron. I've been happily married for 16 years, we have two kids together, and I'm quite happy that she has a good career earning more than many of the whiners on this board.

You wanna talk about sad? Take a look in the mirror girls. 555.

Ain't you the guy that met with the Immigration Chiefs?

Oh dear, I hope they don't think  we're all like you.

  5.

    And so it goes on..

The "just get a real visa" crowd must be starting to feel a little less sure of themselves.

Retirement visas are next according to a Thai I know at Thai immigration.

Wonder what the 'get rid of the scumbags' crowd are going to say then when they suddenly can't get a retirement visa anymore?

I believe too, this is the next logical step. Probably earlier then later.

I don't believe this for one minute. What's wrong with the oldies?

  6. I can't believe so many members are worrying about this. It is another rule that won't be enforced.

How many of you have an alien certificate? All aliens must apply for one within 14 days of arriving in Thailand. I'

ve been here for 29 years and still haven't got one!

Maybe if you are a tourist you'd be best to carry your passport but those of us who have been here more than a year or so will be able to talk our way out of any fine.

  7. I sent my daughter to an EP because of financial constraints. She went on graduate from an English university. However, I doubt the teachers at her school were qualified as they said and they certainly didn't have degrees in their subject. She needed private tutoring. If I could turn back time, I would send her to a normal Thai program. The people who benefit in an EP are the directors and to some extent the teachers.

  8. What do you expect from an attack dog? Put a muzzle on when it goes out and take some time in training it ............... properly. The quote you made about not wanting to put a muzzle on him in in case he starts a fight is nonsensical and indicates you know nothing about dogs.

Can you elaborate on this point as I don't understand !

I meant that if I take him jogging around my house and he's in a muzzle, other dogs might attack him and he'll be defenseless. It seems I am missing something too.

I do know very little about dogs hence joining this forum and asking questions. Thank for your advice.

  10. I have a 8 year old German Shepherd that I have problems with when going for a run.

Other dogs, some stray, approach and do the sniffing thing then he attacks them.

Yesterday, he got into a scrap with 2 other dogs and I didn't know how to separate them. He had a grip of one's neck and wouldn't let go. Very scary as I nearly got bit by both of them although I think mine would never actually bite me.

I keep him in the garden mostly but occasionally he gets out and if another dog goes by he attacks it even if it is on a leash.

He never is aggressive to humans apart from once when a kid repeadedly pulled his tail- he snapped at him.

    Any advice?

Even in the park I can't stop and talk to anyone if they have a male dog.
