  1. To say this then you believe the covid19 pandemic will never end! That's just crazy. The pandemic is already showing signs of ending and soon enough walking street and all the trash will be back to normal.

  2. I am in USA right now and we gave banned all flights from several countries including Europe. All people were contacted and told they must return by a certain date or be stuck here at their own expense. People were contacted by their airlines. It was widely promoted. I drive Uber and serve all the theme parks and convention centers ( #1 in the world for conventions). My business went from $200 a day for 6 to 8 hours of driving to $50 a week driving 12 hours a day! I have been sitting at home for 2 weeks now as all of the USA are on curfew. The only way to stop Covid19 from spreading is to quarantine people and ban people from entering your country from other infected places. The ban in Thailand is not long enough and should have started weeks ago. The desire not to loose the tourist dollars will wind up killing hundreds or thousands of people. I see people saying Thailand officials are MORONS for banning flights. Truth is they are the morons.

  3. My Thai bf and I applied for a Visa to America. He had same job 3 years. Owned a tiny condo and a motorbike. Application instantly accepted. Next year we went to America again, got married and he got a work permit. Been in the States 2 years now.  He was told it would be extremely difficult to get the visa but his interviewer said he had roots and property to come back to.

  4. I lived in Thailand for 4 years and came back to America 2 years ago. I don't see problems when you return. You can almost always use your passport for ID. When you arrive and have an address where you live you go to DMV and get an ID only drivers license.  Looks like  DL but not good for driving. Look online as to the locations of the VA hospitals and live near one. That will be yours. References will be asked. Be honest and say you lived in Thailand for X amt. of years, for retirement. I doubt you will have any trouble. I also doubt they will contact anyone in Thailand to check but you never know. You might have credit here. Go to credit Karma edit com for free to check. Capital one had great programs to get credit cards for all kinds of credit. If you should need credit, get a loan based on secured money from your bank account and get a secured credit card. Small loan, pay off in a year. In 6 months you will have a credit score and again go to Cap. One or others for a credit card.

I think that answered all your questions. Welcome back and hope all goes well for you.

  5. I am now living in America. Was in Jomtien last 2 years. I loved Kodi then and I love it now. I highly recommend KODI. I am still using it in America. No $150 cable bill for me. I like free better. I have read about some possible problems in Europe but nothing going on here. Besides, why not use it for free until you get a problem. They have been forecasting doom and gloom for 10 years now. Before you go out and buy a "box" with Kodi pre-installed on it ( I own 2 ), do it the easy way to test it. Go to your play store and download Kodi on your computer. 1-2 minutes. Then go here.

    http://www.wirelesshack.org/new-kodi-17-krypton-setup-and-how-to-install-exodus.html

its a step by step, with pics, way to download Exodus onto

Kodi. 5 minutes. Hook computer to the TV with an HDMI Cabel and you now have free TV. HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon, ABC, NBC,CBS, LIFETIME, AMX, A&E....everything you have on American cabel, plus British channels! You will need an internet connection of 25 mb or better to prevent most buffering. You can also add Kodi to your phone. Specto Fork is also like Exodus. You have many many things you can load onto Kodi. This website is mostly doom and gloom people. The sky is falling type. Trust me, you will love Kodi.10 out of 10.

Kodi always had a limited lifespan with "illegal" content, eventually it will be blocked its just when. Stopping the retailers of fully loaded boxes just means people will need to understand how to do it themselves. Other apps are far easier to install

Never heard of them stopping retailers of fully loaded boxes? I just bought, a month ago, a loaded Minix with Kodi on it. Bought it on Amazon. Kodi has been around well over 10 years so I also don't get the limited lifespan thing. Sorry scubascuba3 but I think you don't what your saying. Streaming is getting more and more popular, not less.

  7. I stopped using my computer awhile ago to hook Kodi up to my TV.  I bought a Minix ( like a Roku ), got the Android version and use Kodi on that. I am also from the USA and seldom watch U.K.telly.  Graham Norton is the exception, loI. I also have Kodi on my Android, Samsung phone. I hope I never have a problem here. Catching on like wildfire here.

  8. I am in Thailand now on a retirement visa. I just realized my retirement extension expired on the 3rd ( I thought it was the end of this month). I realize I pay 500 baht a day for overstay. I am moving back to America in April or May of next year. I never had to prove my bank funds before as I am an American and don't have to but this year I actually don't have the funds in case I get that one in a million who say they don't care and ask for proof. I was thinking of going to Penang and getting a regular tourist visa and extending it. How can I make it last the 6 months I need. Leaving the country every 3 months is not a problem as I will have a few million baht in January ( yearly retirement check ).

  9. Your from the U.S. So you don't need the money in the bank. Just go to the U.S. Embassy in Bkk and get your income affidavit (they supply it or download online) notorized. Cost is $55 usd. Put down whatever income you want to, they don't check. The notorizion just verifies your signature. We are the only country that has a treaty with Thailand that does not require that we show proof of funds in the bank. I have lived in Thailand 3 years now and never had the required funds in the bank and have gotten the extension for retirement every year. I do understand that it is possible that on a rare occasion that some out of the way offices do ask for your bankstatement but that only happened to me once. All I did was say I was an American and did not have to show proof of funds in the bank and the man apologized and stamped my passport and that was it.

So why was the car driver charged under these circumstances where the motor cyclist is travelling up the wrong way.

My Thai friend says no matter what, the motorcycle has the right of way and the car driver is always charged. So ride a motorcycle at 4 am, probely drunk, no lights on, going the wrong way on the road and it will be the driver of the car doing nothing wrong that waits for the police rather than running, that gets charged with murder. Unbelievable!

  11. Wow. I'm glad I'm an American and don't have to prove my income ( but must go to the American embassy in Bkk to get a verification of income notorized) or show my bank account. Thank goodness we have the Treaty of Amnity with Thailand as last year I only had $300,000 baht in the bank when I renewed my retirement visa and this year my annual retirement check is comming after I have to renew the visa again. I have heard some immigration places still ask for the proof but I was only asked once and I reminded him that I was an American and was not required to show proof and he grudgingly stamped my passport and that was that. BTW, the notorized income form from the embassy I just put down whatever I want as they don't check. As the person there told me " we just notorized your signature, not what you really earn, so we don't care what amount you put down". Pretty sweet for us Americans.

  12. It is not stealing at all. You can download Kodi at the App Store. No VPN needed.

It's not the app that's stealing it's the contents of the TV shows and movies. No different than walking into Big C and buying a DVD player but stuffing DVD discs into your pants.

Then by all means don't use it. Keep paying for a limited service while the rest of the world enjoys free and LEAGLE streaming services. Big difference between stealing from a store and using a free and leagle service to stream content. To bad you don't see the difference.

  13. Why not cut the cord with Netflix and cable and get Kodi. Totally free. Every movie and tv show from USA and UK. TOTALLY FREE. Commercial free and no ads. Watching YouTube videos will show you how to set it up. I originally had it on my laptop and connected the laptop to the TV to watch it but now have a smart tv and bought something called Mimix ( like Apple or Roku ) with Kodi pre loaded. Simple and easy to use.

It's called stealing that is why. It's not free.

It is not stealing at all. You can download Kodi at the App Store. No VPN needed. It is totally free. FREE,FREE, FREE and TOTALLY LEAGLE. Millions of people all over the world are using Kodi to Stream TV, sports events, listen to music stations from all over the world, and watch movies ( just watched Batman vs Superman ). Not one person has ever been prosecuted streaming from Kodi and again, millions of people are using it.

  15. my experience;

send by traceable ordinary airmail, quick and reliable and cheap

DHL, UPS, FedEx? I have never, never, received anything sent to me by courier. Quite simply never.

Ordinary postal services have never failed me, (talking 30 years experience now).

Everyone's experience seems different. I have only been here 2 years and have only received about 25% of the US mail sent regular post. I have received 100% of all mail sent DHL or UPS or FEDEX.. the regular mail I did get took 2 to 6 weeks to arrive. I think I will stick with the 3 day Express mail.

  16. I just went thru this with 2 credit cards. First was an Amex card. 3 times the company sent it and each time I did not receive it. So the company finally sent it express and then I got it. The 2nd time was a few weeks ago for my debit card. I called them a month before it was to expire and asked them to send it to a friends address as I was about to have a 2 week vacation in Florida and they said they had just mailed it that day. They immediately cancelled it and remained it to my friends. Upon arrival back to Thailand, there it was in my mailbox. I have had a few things mailed here and seldom was receive it. The only way I have been able to get any mail is to have it sent express mail. It seems if I must sign for it I always get it. If sent regular post it is about 3 weeks to arrive and at best a 50/50 chance.

BTW, the bank or credit card company will send your card anywhere you request, not just to the address on file. Call the and tell them you are temp. In Thailand and want it sent here express and they will do it. As long as you know all the passwords and such so you can verify who you are they will do it.

  17. I live in Jomtien and went to Bkk a few months ago to renew my retirement visa. I lived in Bkk and moved to Jomtien. They said i can only renew it at Jomtien immigration since that is now where I live. I did my 90 day reporting at Jomtien, so the address of course reflected that. So I now have to drive from Jomtien to Bkk to get my income statement notorized at the US Embassy then drive back to Pattaya immigrration for the visa. Big pain. Terrible system .

  18. How does he not get fired for doing this to a minor? He is a cop and did not understand the consequences of what he did? What else has he done that he thought was ok? So when he rapes a child next, what is the fine, $1,00 baht? Of course he gets to keep his job either way because he confesses and say he is sorry. When will Thailand stop being a third world country and get its act together? Decent tourists are not coming back because of the rapes and murders, and they let this slide. I don't want this guy with a gun saying he is here to protect me or especially children.

  19. I have talked about this before and always been removed with the forum stating that I was promoting a crime!!!

Personal experience. I have gotten 2 retirement visas so far. Both times at Changwattana. I live in Pattaya now and was supposed to go to immigration here to get the visa. They said I had to since that is now my new address. I begged saying I drove all the way up to the embassy then here then waited 4 hours and then have to drive another 3 hours to get home..... They were kind and agreed and used my old address in Bkk. Both times they never asked me for anything other than my income statement from the embassy. I hear at Pattaya immigration they have on a rare occasion asked. That's why I wanted to do it in Bkk. So again, 2 years with retirement visa, and never asked as an American to show any bank statements, just the income verification form from the US Embassy.

Where did you wait for 4 hours. Certainly not at the embassy. I think the longest I have ever spend is half an hour.

At the wrong time of day it might take 2 hours or more to get to Chaeng Wattana from the embassy. Seems to me it would be best to do it at the correct office in Jomtien rather than taking the chance of being refused.

Like I said. It is better to do in Chaingwattana, NOT Jomtien. You must drive up to the embassy to get the income statement notorized so better choice is CW. 10 min. Maybe to get income statement. 4 hours ( can be less or more, depending on the day). About 6 to 7 hours driving from Jomtien and back. Yes, I left at 5:30am as I had an 8 am appt at embassy. Hope that clears it up. IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE, GO TO CW.
