  1. Your in your mid 50's.  How about a girl in her mid 30's?  Plenty of them have a child (or children) who is already grown up (late teens)

This way you have a girl who is young compared to you (20 years), she has already had a child or children (so she won't crave any more), and her kids are old enough that you don't have to do anything (except put them through university, lol).

    Problem solved.

First, you need to talk with your GF and do right by her (but that doesn't mean becoming a father again).  Second, you need to get a vasectomy.  I had one 3 days ago and can make a recommendation.  See this thread here (my post is #3) http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/742169-sterilisation-where-and-how-much/

  2. I just had a vasectomy 3 days ago at Ramathibodi Hospital's Premium Clinic (Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center)

This brand new medical center competes with some of the top private hospitals in BKK, except it's a little cheaper. Ramathibodi Hospital is traditionally a university hospital, sort of like Chula Hospital, except for Mahidol University instead. It has always had a good reputation. But the new premium clinic is something which Chula doesn't have. It's like a 5 star hotel inside. Really nice place. Everything is orderly. No chaos (although it is a busy place, but it's a huge building anyway)

I was very impressed with the urologist, despite his little English. He is very ethical (he actually turned me away at first due to my young age). I believe his name is Wisoot Kongchareonsombat, MD. From what research i did on him, i think he used to work at Phya Thai Hospital (top-notch private hospital). Phya Thai hospital was one of the places i called up to ask about the price of vasectomy. They quoted me around 25k (one of the most expensive quotes i got)

But it cost me just 12k at Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center

The operation by the way was a breeze. Didn't feel a thing, except the needle going in at first. It took about 30 mins. He gave me lots of aftercare advise and some medicine. I am back to normal already.

Highly recommend this place. I expect he can do female sterilization just as well (especially since it is more common for women to do this in Thailand than men)

  3. Yup.

Our daughter is 2 and 4 months. She can make up to 10 word sentences in Thai, English, and Isaan.

She didn't start speaking later than expected and her Thai (and Isaan) is the same as most kids her age (better that some).

Though she can't speak about as many different topics in English as in Thai (lower vocab) because i have been living in BKK, while she lives in Isaan so her vocabulary is lagging a bit.

She easily grasps that she has to speak to me in English and her Mum in Thai or Isaan. There is no confusion and she has never mixed up the languages in the same sentence, like people often think would happen. I think that is probably a myth.

Also, at that age they don't learn language - they aquire it.

It is natural for them to litterally absord any language system around them and it doesn't matter how many languages there are (so long as the input is enough).

  4.

I am going to have to transfer my extension of stay soon.  How do i go about that?

I understand what i need to do at the Thai immigration, but don't i need a letter from the British embassy or something?

Depending on which side of the bed the immigration officer who processes your extension of stay transfer got out of that morning, you may or may not need an Embassy letter as per the attachment. You would therefore be best advised to obtain one regardless IMHO.

    Thank you!

Do you I go to the British Embassy on Wireless Road for this?

  5. Are you male? (If so, I don't understand why you need a test)

The chances of not noticing the symptoms Clamydia (or Gonnorhea) in your urethra are slim (excuse the pun). Females, on the other hand, often don't notice their symptoms (due to their anatomy) and a test is wise.

Typically in Thailand, if you have discharge a gram stain test would be done just to see if its NGU or not. If not, they will treat you for both Clamydia and Gonnorhea together rather than wasting time and money on the test. Not to mention, both are often transmitted together anyway.
