  2. Few months back, stayed home because of security reasons.

    Last month, worried about rain.

Last week, high season and car crashes scared me

Now I must stay home because of the heat?????

on a serious note....i am convinced the two real killers in Thailand is heat and pollution. third might be aids, not sure.

if old....avoid the heat and save your life.

if really young.....tell your parents you are not safe

when the pollution AND heat comes.....the cost savings of moving to Thailand will become negative...

complain complain complain .. what People should stay away from that kind of negative people who you, otherwise there is great risk of being infected by the illness known as negativity. cheesy.gifclap2.gif

How about health insurance, especially since you have a motorcycle?

    Mac

While some may find it hard to believe, he probably has a better lifestyle than 50% of the people in the world. Just look at large parts of Africa, the Philippines, India, Bangladesh, etc. He has air con, a roof over his head, running water, a toilet and shower, local transport, access to mass transport, etc. I could stay there for a few months. I don't need much when I holiday. I am quite content with just being able to have a decent place to sleep at night. Spend the rest of my money on other things.

Now for the western standards. Medical insurance? Auto/motorbike insurance? Saving for Retirement? Entertainment budget? Income Taxes (does he make any money)? How long you going to live this way?

idont have Insurance and i save Money every month.. but now im not 50+++

if i get sick i will go back to my home country and get treatment there. or if i have a accident in Thailand i wil pay for it....

expats and their talk all the time about Health insurane, should belive they are waiting for something bad will happen..haahahh cheesy.gif

Insurance or not...that's a personal Choice. the paronoia came With the age...cheesy.gifclap2.gifwhistling.gif

  6. Oslo, Norway .... I had to flee from there, the lack of democracy in both Norway and Europe, personal responsibility does not exist there, was tired of policies introduced all about raping individual wallet.
here in Thailand, I have at least my money in peace without the mafia methods called taxes.
dishonest politics is not exactly my thing, here in Thailand as long as I feel promise to rules, everything is fine, nobody has anything to take me on.
hope our rights are being set higher in the future without power hungry politicians who want to Check for individual, here in Thailand they let me at least in peace.
weather once I arrive Thailand I feel free.
But hey, no country is perfect, plenty off times the bib have pulled me over for no reason and give me fine, but i have to pay that small price for live in this country i think, nothing is free.
  7. Saudi Arabia has no drug problems because they kill the dealers. It works well as a deterrent. Didn't that use to be the case in Thailand, too?

last death setence in thailand it's 6 years ago if i dont remember wrong....

    Kingdom of Thailand (Thailand)

Retentionist. [3] The last known executions took place in Thailand on August 24, 2009. [4]
Lethal Injection is the sole method of execution in Thailand today. In October 2003, Thailand amended article 19 of the Criminal Code, changing the method of execution from execution by firing squad to execution by lethal injection..
in america, malaysia, singapore, china, japan and most muslims country they do have death penalthy for drug!!!
  8. Not only the General, I'm impressed also with the Phuket police.

They are doing an excellent job, after reading all the reports on TVF.

But also looking at their beer bellies on the photograph, I think they are enjoying their lives also.

Good Luck to them.....they deserve it...........as long as they carry on with the present performance.thumbsup.gif

and everything is good back in greece?

a country that wouldnt surive withoutthe commmunstic soviet union (eu) but dont worry, spain and portugal have the same problem.

  9. The Governor concluded by saying, “I have my own goals; there will be no deaths, no accidents on any Phuket hill, no running of red lights, and no selfie taking while driving.” - A goal should be something that can actually be measured and attained. Until they deal with the root cause of automobile deaths, they will continue to have an extremely high death rate. Booze, (seat) belts, distracted driving and intersection enforcement would reduce these deaths greatly.

“Motorcyclcles can be checked free of charge too and distilled water, engine oil and light bulbs will be replaced for free.” - And free oil changes for motorcycles?

i mean if i want to use seatbelt it's up to me, if i have a accident i will only hurt my self, not my neighboor, same with helmet, only my self will get hurt, it the prinscipe off personal resoponsibilty, my body my choice, but offcourse it is smart to use seatbelt and helmet.

who the <removed> want to live in a nannystate where the goverment want control your body ?

  10. Why dont people read the article before they comment? It was NOT from tourist it was from a beach resort.

"all items belong to Banyan Tree Resort"

most off the pepole on TV like bashing thailand, but they steel come here for holiday/live here...

some pepole are ony negative, they only seewhat they want to see.. amazing expats in this country....

  11. So they are trying to close for a week in the hope that they can avoid enforced closure for a month. And that is responsible.

    Jesus, some folk on here!

The owner didn't assault anyone, he's / she's showed some initiative by voluntarily closing the business (something I don't recall hearing in Pattaya before), and organising staff training.

Seems he / she can't do right for wrong by some TV members!

Whether the reasons are genuine for voluntarily closing, or as you sceptically imply to try to reduce a lengthier forced closure, I don't know, but what would you have suggested the owner do more responsibly?

    oh yeah :(/

  12. I think the Thai people do not understand the meaning of being drunk. At first they come to gogo bar, drink and drink and make money on the poor guy then when he gets drunk and is in a situation that he doesn't know what he is doing or saying get beaten up. It is really strange.

The fault is the owner of the business. They should train their security guard that they are not suppose to beat up the guest because they are drunk. Just like Europe they can hold his hand in a way that he can not do anything and then take him out. Or at the most call for tourist police or police.

Such entertainment places should be closed down for at least 6 months to give a message to the rest.

    just like europe????

because som nannystate in europe training there staff that dosen't mean all european countries do, been to spain, portugal, bulgaria or grecce? much violence from the secuirty staff,

but there is allways a reason why the staff will do this...
