With all the laws and regulations – TM30, lockdowns, closed businesses or bankrupt businesses, tests that give false positives, checkpoints, tracking, masks, isolation and internment, overcharging farangs, and goodness knows what else they plan, I prefer to stay at home and I can't wait to get out of the country once they let me out of this prison they have concocted on innocent and healthy people.

When only 57 people have died (no doubt from other ailments rather than corona) out of a population of nearly 70,000,000, what the hell are all these restrictions about? This is all about total control and increasing poverty so people have to rely on the govern mente! This is all about a criminal enterprise who now suddenly remember the expats who still might have some money, and this after they have treated us so badly compared to other countries with immigration policies.

Sod it I say, you are no longer worthy of my money! And yes, I am angry and I am sorry I listened to a friend who told me to move here.

Fully agree to this. I fortunately got out just before lockdown but with leaving all my stuff behind. For that I will go back once and after that no more. Just this morning I read about what happened yesterday to poor Wanchalearn Satsakit....google this name and look for 4 june 2020....then you know Thailand is a country one should avoid as the plague.

It's all about appeasing their Chinese masters (please send tourist money)... they conveniently overlooked the second wave outbreak happening in China...

Yes exactly same they did and in my opinion still do with the current ones. I saw the hordes of Chinese tourists coming to Chiang Mai during Chinese  New Year and all them were clean of Covid19 ?. If you  believe that then Grimms tales are for you. Today no new cases....better say no new cases above the carpet. Prayuth and Anutin......better then the brothers Grimm

Every country has regulations governing foreigners. Try getting into Australia or America, or staying there,  without appropriate documents. Thailand is no different.

You do have the option of leaving. Use it if the requirements are too onerous for you.

And this is where you are wrong: at the moment there are nearly no options to leave (or stay) this lovely country. I love Thailand but as long as this country stays being ruled but this bunch I will stay out. Oh I am so glad that in January (when I saw the hords of Corona-Chinese invading Thailand) I decided that it was time to leave this L.O.S.

  4.   Oh I am so glad I left and sold my stuff when I still could. Will I return ?...... not likely. The Thai government is now again showing its true face. As long as Pinokkio stays in charge they will not see me again.

Blocking foreigners and claiming they were/ are bringing in the virus is one thing...blocking your own nationals who want to come back home in a crisis like this because they can bring in the virus is just ridiculous. The time that blocking could have stopped it dear Pinokkio has long been gone.

During Chinese new year I did not hear P.M. Pinokkio about blocking bad foreigners from big brother China because of bringing in the virus. Oh no...then "Brownie" went especially to the airport to greet them. I pitty the Thai people having such a joker at the helm.

  5. Crazy...... refusing Dutch cruise ship with checked ...as far as possible ...all passengers not being sick ....after first saying it can come in. But still letting all non-checked Chinese potential zombies come in freely. Glad I got out last week. This will get worse..so worse that even prime minister Pinokio can not hide it any longer behind his long nose.

  6. I am in Chiang Mai on a tourist visa issued at Amsterdam Consulate. Entered Thailand Nov. 5th 2019 and the visa (after getting 30 more days at CNX immigration) will expire on February 2 2020.

I would like to prolongue my stay until End of February./ early March 2020 after which I will fly back to Europe to work for 5 months. .  Can I still go to Mae Sai...cross the border and get thirty days ?.  Last year I did this once and it went all very smoothly.

What should I bring ?.... ticket to proof I fly out ?. Cash ?

  7. I am currently in Thailand on a 1 entry tourist Visa issued at the Thai consulate in Amsterdam. This expires on 28 July (got my 30 days extension here). Now I will fly back to Holland on the 5th of August so I need a few extra days. Can I go to Mae Sai  and do an in/out round there ?. This year I had no entries on a landborder. Last year 1 (december 18th 2018). I have my return ticket to show and have enough cash on me too.

Mae Sai would be ok then ?. At the moment I am near Chiang Rai so it would be the fastest way to do it .

There is a ruling, though often not applied, that you cannot leave Thailand and return the same day, i.e. you are required to stay overnight in the country you enter having exited Thailand. This may be the reason you were questioned previously. So, you may also have to pay for over night accommodation at Houy Xai.

The reason I was questioned at Chiang Khong was that .......the immigration officer told me .....I did use the 30 days option too much then. (I did then never get a visa but only moved in and out twice each stay). Since January 2017 I always got myself a visa so since then I never entered Thailand without a Tourist visa from Amsterdam...followed by one from Vientiane before returning again to Holland for 4 to 5 months to work. Now it will be the first time since january 2017 that I will try the 30 days option again.

  9. Thank you all for your advice. I think I will try it at Maesai. Should that not work I'll try Chiang Khong. I have a car so I will not depend on Greenbus (quicker to move around). I will do it three days before my visa expires....would give me enough time ...should both fail......to travel to Nong Khai (which I not hope....lol).  The last time I was in Maesai is about 3 years ago....after that I read here that it was not easy for some time to do an in/out there with/after a tourist visa. So that changed ?.

  10. This month (the 26yh of November 2018) my Tourist Visa Single Entry issued by the Thai Consulate in Amsterdam expires and as i can/want to stay until 20th January 2019 (when I will fly back to Holland where I will work again for the next 4 months freelance) work there. I see two options for me. I would like your advice of what would be the best option for me.                                                                                                             A) I could go to Vientiane an get me a new Tourist visa for the two remaining months. I stay at Chiang Mai so it is a long trip. I have at the moment two previous visas from Vientiane in my passport (one dating 25 August 2017/Flight out 2 October 2017...one dating 7 March 2018/ flight out 5 May 2018) so I presume a third one will not be a problem. Should I bring my ticket showing I fly out January 20th 2019 ?.  Any recent changes at Vientiane regarding Tourist visas I should be aware of ?.                                                                                                                                    B) As I am at Chiang Mai it would be easier to drive to Chiang Khong...cross the bridge ther into Laos and return. That would give me 30 days and after getting an extension at Chiang Mai with another 30 days it would safely bring me to the 20th of January too. My last border crossing in/out was at that bridge on January 4 2017 so I still have two allowed crossings by land left for 2018 BUT.....last time I did that I was stopped when I wanted to get back into Thailand.  Only by showing the officer my ticket out (dating 23 January 2017) I was finally allowed in. It is tempting to do it this way (saves me time and money) but it could mean trouble and that I want to avoid as much as possible.    Looking forward reading your comments/advice.
