  1. I do projects in Holland and when each project is finished I visit Thailand until the next one comes along and Fly back to Holland.

I arrived back in Thailand on the 23rd of september on a 30 days permit. I bought another 30 days just last week at Chiang Mai immigration so I am good until the 22nd of november. I did not get a tourist visa as, when I left, my next project would start december 1 so I not needed it.

Now I just have been informed that the starting date for the new project has been put back to february 1 2016. As this is not the first time this is happening I bought a return ticket with, within some restrictions, a flexible returning date (must use the ticket before march 1 2016) . I now have the possibility to stay about 2 months more. The last time this happened I went to Vientiane after the original 60 days were over and I asked and got a single-entry tourist visa. This was issued on the 17th may of this year. I not fully used it as I left the 23rd of june already back to Holland for my next project.

My question is.................can I do this again ?. Reading so much about the possible changes on 13th of november make me a bit worried.

Should I try to get a single entry tourist visa at Vientiane for the two months or should I fly out before november 22 to Singapore and return 3 days later for another 30 days permit (and use again the 30 days extension ). That would also give me what I need but I am in doubt if this will work.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

p.s. Next time I will apply for the 5000 multiple-entry visa in Holland as I understand that you can only apply for it in your own country.

  2. Thanks Ubonjoe.......that makes my mind a lot less worrying.

What would you do if you were me...................

You advised me before and it went perfectly so I ask you as I really think you know.......

I myself think a tourist visa would be best....and cheaper (I am Dutch...remember) but I will listen to your advice

    Thanks again.

  3. I entered Thailand 30 march with a 30 days visa exemption. I am Dutch. I have a return ticket with a `movable`return date. I planned to return the 27th of may because of a new project in Holland. So after the 30 days I went to Immigration Jomtien and got another 30 days.

That would have been ok but.........now the starting date for my new project has changed suddenly from june 1 to july 8 so I would like to stay another month. I can change the date of my return ticket to 29th of june or later. Earlier is not possible the airline claims.

My question is.... what would be the best option for me.... I think another extension at an immigration office in the country is not possible so I think the best thing would be traveling to Vientiane and try to get a tourist visa ...single entry which I will only use until my flight out back to Holland on the 29th of june. My last tourist visa, also issued at Vientiane, dates back from 24 april 2014. The other option I think would be to stay in Vientiane for about 3/5 days and fly back in...get 30 days exemption....and leave 29th of june.

What should I do is the question now spinning around in my head. Or are there other options ......

    Your advise is appreciated

  4. I arrived from Holland on the 30th of march and got my 30 days extension arriving at Bangkok; valid until the 28th of april.

As I will have to leave for Vientiane end of may(22 may) for about a 6- 9 days work/meeting (no holiday there unfortunately) I plan to get me, around 23 april, another 30 days extension by paying 1.900th at Chiang Mai immigration.

I think that this will work out and that I will not be having any problems in getting the extra-30 days extension.

    BUT

The 22nd of may I will fly out to Vientiane from Chiang Mai and will have to stay in Laos until the end of the month. So about 7-9 days. I have a return ticket back to Holland dating the 25th of june from Bangkok to Amsterdam and would love to spend the three weeks in between in Pattaya. Will I have to get a tourist visa while being in Vientiane (only would need it for about three weeks) or can I fly back in ; show my return ticket dated the 25th of june and get another 30 days ?

My last real double tourist visa from Vientiane dates from april 2014 when I was in Thailand for 5 months. After that I was only in thailand for a short 5 weeks holiday from december 11th until january 20th 2015 .

    Any suggestions ?

  5. I just read here about the 6 visa exempt entries and I get a little worried. I work in Holland doing 2-3 monthly projects. After they finish I leave for Thailand until the next one starts.

I entered Thailand last year on 26 march on a visa exempt. 24th of April I crossed the border at Nongkhai into Laos to apply for a double entry tourist visa. I got that and returned the 25th of april.

I stayed in Thailand until the 16th of september returning to Holland for my next project, That lasted until dec 12th when I entered Thailand using a visa exempt entry. After 30 days I got another 30 days at Chiang Mai immigration granting me to stay in Thailand until february 9 2015. But because my new project started before I left for Holland 20th of january already.

Now this project is ending and I plan to fly back to Thailand the 30th of march. I want to enter on a visa exempt again. Will I have trouble doing this ?.

As I now not know exactly when my next project will start ( but before july1) I bought myself an "open-return ticket"(can change my return date within a certain period). If the project starts within 60 days after my entry I would do the same as before.....enter on a visa exempt and get 30 days more at immigration, If the starting date for my next project is after 60 days I then have two possibilities:

    - within the first 30 days period go to Laos again and get me a single entry Tourist visa which will give me 3 month extra (giving me more time then I actually need)

    0r

    - get out after the 60 days....stay in Laos for about two weeks and fly back getting me another 30 days as another visa exempt entry.

What seems the best option to do ?,
