  1. And if Somchai passing in his 'Tuner flicks his cigarette but out the driver's window..........?

That reminds me of the dynamite truck that crashed in about 1990.

All was well until some of the locals decided to see if there was anything worth having "off the back of a lorry" so to speak.

  2. All they have to do is to extend the short bit from Phaya thai (no longer than from Victory monument to Phaya thai) to the new stretch from Don Muang or am I missing some thing?

The last 2 times I passed it looks like they are making fast progress near Don Muang at least.

Do you mean extend the Dark Green line that links to Paya Thai (via Chatuchak - Bearing Line) to Don Muang airport as it passes behind it on its way to Sapan Mai, Kukhot and beyond (that is under construction right now).

  3. For all above mentioned reasons (I like to add the generalization 'thainess') I have decided to leave for my home country this month.

Leaving behind a beautiful small paradise (resort) which I have offered for sale.

I like to spend the rest of what is left of my life in peace, and not have to worry of thailand slipping further and further in a swamp, not to talk about the chances I get killed or worse wounded in a traffic accident, attacked by some out of control 18 year old boys, or a dog.

Im going with a gut feeling that your leaving not because of yapping dogs or farang murdering teens around every corner but rather because your resort flopped..would I be right?

I hope you are going somewhere other than the UK then. The roads are full of eastern European "drivers" and the streets are awash with out of control kids with knives and savage dogs.

Never mind the number of fat women with a bad attitude...

  4. I have no idea who runs What's On Sukhumvit but I have to say they they seem to care little what is posted in this rag. If Jamie Harkis is some sort of journalist it doesn't show, and as for the opinion of someone who has spent less than six months in Thailand I wonder how he has the audacity to proclaim anything about the place.

I expect the reaction on TV will reflect my comments, as most on here have been in Thailand for many, many years.

    Blog Off Jamie.

  5. Not being an expert in English grammar, i understood that hanged is the past tense of hang.Hang being the verb..to hang.I also understood that hung is the past participle. Please correct me if i am wrong.

    Hanged vs. hung

Hung is the past tense and past participle of hang in most of that verb’s senses. For instance, yesterday you might have hung a picture on the wall, hung a right turn, and hung your head in sorrow. The exception comes where hang means to put to death by hanging. The past tense and past participle of hang in this sense, and only in this sense, is hanged.

As DeLorean says, it's time you all checked your grammar, you hang decorations... only people are hanged.

  6. It is nonsense to tie the fluctuations of the Thai Baht to the UK Referendum on the EU.

The GBP has held to within 2% of where it was before the announcement.

The Euro is doomed however and I expect it will drop like a brick once the UK votes Leave. It is artificially held up by printing more euros and massive loans to the southern European economies that are bankrupt.

The EU is an undemocratic bureaucracy with expansionist plans.

And the British have a habit of not doing what the French and Germans tell them to do...

  7. Alice in Wonderland logic here:

How would it be in the favour of the suspects to be charged with the more serious offence? Surely that would be in the favour of the victims relatives?

It would definitely not distort the case in the way the commissioner is implying. Maybe we are not supposed to be able to think rationally.

If you know anything about law; if you don't think a more serious charge will result in a conviction, but lesser charge will as it has enough evidence to support it, then it is better to get a conviction with the lesser charge than see the accused be acquitted.

  8. I have lived and worked on and off here since the mid 1980s (now on a retirement visa) and it was only this year I got ripped off by the landlady of the last Condo I was renting.

She has been very difficult and has just refused to see sense and has just kept the deposit money.

I have threatened to sue her and I am now looking for a lawyer.

It is basically a "face thing" with her and I just want to see her "naar daeng" at the end of the proceedings,

  9. Did he FALL or was he PUSHED?

The walls and barriers on balconies in Thailand are generally about 3' 6" so to "fall accidentally" you would really have to be tall, 6' 2" plus to topple over drunk or stoned.

All these reports that say people fall is simply nonsense.

It has to be a deliberate act.

In Spain tourists are known to sit on the wall of the balcony and fall off while drunk or drugged up so maybe that has to be considered, but the toxicology report shows what state they were in.

The reports on social media and the press these days is badly written, no facts just sensational and inaccurate headlines.

This poor lad seems to have no reason to jump. RIP early.

Draw your own conclusions from what we know so far, it certainly needs some investigation in my view.

Pattaya in general and the full moon parties on the islands need some sort of supervision as it all gets out of hand.

Everybody should remember, wherever you are in the world with a load of drunks and druggies the very slightest thing can spark a fight.

    Oh well,

I know I'm wasting my time as nothing will change...
