  1. I know a law firm that was handling a lot of company houses for people. The last I spoke with them they are no longer doing this and admitted that the House of cards would fall at some point and when it did it could be an issue. Something they don't want to be involved in should it happen
  2. I paid an agent here in Pattaya they canceled the Visa and the passport no problem at all 400 baht I paid
  3. They are telling people in Sriracha that you need this to continue your coverage I've got two friends that went through it. I don't disagree with you it's just different offices play by different playbooks. I had problems in Sriracha also and had to go up to Rayong where they couldn't have been friendlier. So much easier if all the organizations played by the same Playbook and each office couldn't adjust the rules to fit themselves.
  4. Yes automatically debited from my k bank account
  5. Thank you for that and I'm not surprised to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if they stop the medical coverage altogether for foreigners that were on the Social Security when they were working. I guess if they ever do that the ones like myself and others that pay into it privately would be grandfathered again good to know thanks for that post you'll save a lot of people the headache of trying to get this without having that yellow book and pink card
  6. It is debited automatically from my k bank account but I know others that paid I believe at any 7-Eleven
  7. They may well require it but as I said I use an agent and I've never had to get it I even asked my agent about it she told me not to worry about it I have no reason to lie about it I don't have anybody to impress I'm just telling you my experience
  8. I use the Pattaya office and have an agent do what needs to be done as i just do not want to be bothered. I have never had a TM30 my agent said avoid if you can as once you are in that system you are always in it. I travel as well many times a year out of Thailand always returning to my same address. Still never bothered with one of these TM30s I have the money in the bank but I do not want to have to go to Immigration ever if i can help it and so far in over 20 years have only been there 3 times. Those that are sure to post how stupid I am for spending money for an agent when i have proper funds Ok then I am stupid but not having to go down there is 100% worth it for me.
  9. They may have changed the rules because I worked for 2 companys here in Thailand and the first one i worked for 8 years and retired and received the continued medical coverage as you say but ALSO my Thai Pension about 80K that they paid into my Thai Bank account in 10 days after i retired lump sum. Decided to take a job offer a few months later and worked 7 more years and the same exact thing the Thai pension this time was a bit over 60K and paid out in a lump sum as well . I still have the full medical cover as well that will continue as long as i let them debit my account 432 baht. Which will be forever. I will say a friend i sent to Sri Ratcha to apply for his after he retired was told you now have to be married or have a condo in your name to get these benefits. Told him to try another office and he went to Rayong and was in and out in 30 Mins all good. so YMMV.
  10. Not true unless they have changed the rules. I still have my Thai SS and have had for the 6 years I have been retired the cost is 432 monthly and never had a yellow book or Pink ID card ever.
  11. Is it something you actually need? I've lived here in Thailand for 21 years worked the first 15 years. I have bought Vehicles bought condos open bank accounts and all kinds of other similar things never once have I needed or been asked for a yellow book or pink ID card. I am also still covered by Thai Social Security medically and don't need or haven't been asked for them at any of the hospitals or medical facilities either. Not sure what benefit you get from them.
  12. Just saw this a great read thank you very much I have only us Social Security coming in monthly I have it deposited to my US Bank and I transfer it with wise every month or two happy to see that the Social Security payments are not considered income or taxable thank you again. By the way I do understand that things can change
  13. When people that are retired living here cry and whine like babies about having to do things the Thai way and about how saying the thais are inept. Then when they're told if they don't like it they can go home they really get upset 🤣
  14. You're absolutely right I've been involved in issues and the labor department goes to bat for employees whether they're foreigners or locals I've lived it you are absolutely right
