Great news story. I feel like I've really learned something useful. I must remember to pass this on to my friends just in case they missed it.

I'm guessing that many westerners have now got tired/bored/sick of Thailand and the numbers are now made up by Chinese and Indian tourists who tend to stay for a shorter time and just visit the hotspots of Pattaya and Phuket. These are probably the "quality" tourists with the least manners Thailand prefers to see because they come, spend their money and go home quickly.

Good luck with that, the only problem is that Thais will be Thais. Songkran is almost here so time to dust off the Darwin Awards.

Its par for the course in Thailand and hardly worth reporting.

Hub of mystery deaths. Plenty more to follow as Songkran approaches.

Thailand consistently has one of the world's worst road death toll rates. It never changes. Its all to do with the people whether it be reckless drivers or poor roads due to lack of investment or corruption. It will never change because Thailand will never change.

Who can be bothered to read all that about stupid stuff that happens every day in LOS ? That bloke should be old enough to know better and as for having sex with those two growlers...more fool him.

Hub of small knobs.

21 hours to learn that Thais are unteachable.

The biggest dilema for moralistic Thai officials will be deciding who to spend Valentines Day with; the mia noi, one of the gigs or heaven forbid the wife.

Time to dust off thé rain planes.

Gotta love Thailand, not a day goes by without a new headline relating to sleaze. Such a classy country !

Remember to take out life insurance before visiting.

Its easy money for the police especially shaking down worse for wear late night stragglers piling out of areas like Silom and Sukhumvit. Its no excuse but you can see why they'd focus on those areas. Its easy pickings. The fact remains though, Thai police are a law unto themselves.

We all know what Thais do at crossroads....pull out without looking or indicating and with certainly no regard for anyone else. Whatever Thailand does they usually make their own idiosyncratic mess of it. That is afterall the basis of Thainess. Errors are there to be repeated not learned from.

Welcome to Thailand and Thaihess. You've just increased your chances of being killed by a factor of 20. If you have white skin you pay more. Thank you for coming and enjoy your stay.

The figures are par for the course and it was so much fun they'll do it all again in April. Thailand's annual casualty list for road accidents, murders, suicides and weird deaths must be similar to a war zone and still foreigners flock to visit or live there. It makes me wonder who are the stupid ones in all this.
-
It's Darwinian. A few more generations and they'll be a Thailand without any Thais. Now there's a thought.

Just when you think it can't get any worse for Koh Tao. What the hell is going on there ?! Cue the apologists "it can happen anywhere". Yeah, just much much more likely in Thailand than anywhere else.
RIP to yet another poor foreigner.

And so it goes on. More innocent people killed by a moronic Thai van driver. This one of the many great shames of this country. After these last few days of carnage lets see some figures for the total amount of foreigners killed in Thailand in 2014. This country needs to be named and shamed on many levels. "Thainess" is no excuse anymore.

Another day, another expat found dead in Thailand. I wonder what the total casualty figure will be for 2014 and how it compares to other countries with sizeable expat communities. I'm guessing Thailand will be in a league of its own.
For the British, you are 20x more likely to die while in Thailand than most other foreign countries (excluding war zones).
That probably says just as much about Brits (and I am one) losing the plot too much in Thailand compared to visiting other less insane countries. Either way it's a startling statistic.

As with other posts very sad to hear of another person meeting a grisly end in Thailand. Even sadder that this seems to happen to someone on a daily basis whether through murder, accidental death or "suicide". Thailand has more casualties than most modern wars and still it goes on. I can understand why his parents weren't happy for him to stay there. I expect many parents of young expats and travellers will feel the same knowing what goes on in Thailand.
