My vote was an "anti-Hillary" vote, not a "pro-Trump" vote. I believe that, had the Democrats run any viable candidate other than Hillary, they would have won the White House.
However, once Trump was in office, he did have real potential. He still does have potential. But his ego has been his worst enemy. He needs to focus, rein in that ego, stop running his mouth, and execute his vision over the next two (likely to be his last) years. I am hoping he accomplishes some things worthy of mention.
And classifying his followers as moronic, racist, bigots is not really fair. Of course, those do exist, but they are not the majority. What you have is a large section of the US who believe the Federal government has gone off the rails, and they are praying for some leadership. When compared to Hillary, Trump looked like the Messiah. And this is the problem. The US has not provided the American people with any real leadership to elect in ages. The parties are failing the people by not offering them real leadership to elect.
But many posters are right about one thing. Americans, in general, need to grow up. We have gotten weak minded and weak in the spine over the past 30 years. You can't bitch and moan about losing jobs to China, then turn around and complain when you have to pay more for American made products, or tariffed imports. You can't beg the government to spend trillions you don't have to manifest some dreamworld that will never exist, then complain about the mountain of debt created. You can't sit around ignoring the political process while you play XBox, then complain that you have no good choices on election day. You can't complain about politicians playing politics in the media, when you turn around and consume that very content with the fixation of a dog in heat. The days of the US standing head and shoulders above the rest of the world, while sitting on our collective @$$es, are gone. It is time we get back to work. And that work should start with adhering to the concept that made us great to begin with - individual freedom. We need to lead by example - by electing good, responsible leadership, by minding our own house and playing by the same rules we demand everyone else observe, by promoting freedom in other countries but not imposing it, and by ending our manipulation of governments and economies around the world. Respect is earned, and we need to start earning it again. That's not on Trump. That is on US.

The Deputy Commissioner of the Tourist Police Bureau, Pol. Maj. Gen. Surachet Hakpan, said more police officershave been deployed to the airport to raise the confidence of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand during their National Day holiday.
Seems like that will have the opposite effect. The last thing I would want to see, as a Chinese national arriving in Don Muaeng, is more police to b1tch slap me!

Did your landlord offer any reasonably valid reasoning for cutting the tree? What prompted him to do that? Must have been quite an effort... Wondering what he really wanted to achieve.
A good question, since large trees can be transplanted, although at what are likely to be expensive rates.

China had it good for a long time with the massive trade deficit with the US.
Ultimately, it had to end - both sides knew it - but no-one would do anything about it before.
That's right. There will be a lot of pain to go around, as in any trade war, but China has a lot more to lose in this scenario than the US does.

Kristen Dudley, a psychologist with the state sex offender board, told the court Cosby met the criteria to be labelled a predator and those people were likely to reoffend.
I truly dislike the man. Always have. However, "likely to reoffend"? Give me a break.

This whole thing smells to hell of a set up by the US government because of the blueprints.
That is what I think is going on here. Let's see her produce the alleged naked photos. Let's see SugarDaddyMeet produce the log files. And let's see evidence of the hotel room booking where the tryst allegedly occurred.

What kind of donation is a fixed over-price?
It is a government / tax-status thing. You are really paying a "price".
But in order to qualify as a tax-exempt religious institution, and not pay taxes, it must be called a "donation".

US-based manufacturing will become a victim too.
- Harley is moving manufacturing to Thailand and Europe.
- 1,500 jobs at three Arkansas-based tire cord manufacturing plants will close their plants unless they can get relief from the Trump administration's steel tariffs.
- Mid Continent Nail Corporation in Poplar Bluff, Missouri will have to lay off 200 workers—about 40 percent of its workforce—before Labor Day due to increased steel prices created by Trump's tariffs.

- Washington state-based REC Silicon, which produces poly-silicon for solar equipment, laid off 100 employees as a “direct result of the ongoing solar trade dispute between China and the United States.
Yup. Winners and losers whenever there is a shift of this magnitude.

This is getting interesting...
China really does need to play ball here:
QuoteChina's top export countries:
- United States: US$431.7 billion (19% of total Chinese exports)
- Hong Kong: $281 billion (12.4%)
- Japan: $137.4 billion (6%)
A very different story from the US side:
1. Canada $175.5B 18.2% 2. Mexico $154.0B 16.0% 3. China $74.3B 7.7%
All of the talk of harming the US consumer depends on how it plays out. If the manufacturing moves back to the US, then the jobs created will be a benefit to the economy overall. However, if they do not, and the tariffs simply land at the US treasury, I doubt they will be spent wisely enough to make any meaningful difference.

i wonder how many of these vendors are tax paying citizens, i bet not a single one,
Few would meet the level of income where taxes are owed. You need to earn 150,000 baht before you owe any tax. Then it is only 5% from 150,000 to 300,000. But, as mentioned previously, they do pay VAT on every baht of that income that they inevitably spend.

Do you need to have been receiving the 85,000 baht salary for the entire 3 years, or does it just need to be your "current" salary?

Yes, I so appreciate this spam site popping up alerts telling me my computer is infected with a virus, and opening pop under windows with online casino ads. And, no movie to be found. Thanks.

I believe the real threat to be the day the US must pay real interest rates on the mountain of debt directly in front of us, and then the second mountain of unfunded liabilities right behind it. The tsunami of baby boomers coming at us is cresting, and the fact that the Federal government continues to deficit spend in front of it (the point of your post) is criminally stupid. The path to disaster has already been paved. The shuffling of the chairs on this Titanic is meaningless.
