  1. They don't stop transmission, they just reduce the possibility, but it can still happen. A growing body of evidence indicates that people fully vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) are less likely than unvaccinated persons to acquire SARS-CoV-2 or to transmit it to others. However, the risk for SARS-CoV-2 breakthrough infection in fully vaccinated people cannot be completely eliminated as long as there is continued community transmission of the virus.
  2. Tested the day after they were jabbed and found to have Covid. Seems they were infected and possibly positive when jabbed unless they were given ATK tests.
  3. Loosing both parents to covid, or the grandparents whose care they were in is just tragic. As far as education, yes it seems that it will be a complete do-over year, although that will never happen....pass them to the next level.
  4. I looked at a unit there, as I wanted to have a view of the fireworks show for New Years and then be close to Icon Siam, in the end I decided on the Lumpini Area of Sathorn.
  5. Take a Look around Lumpini Park Area and Sathorn. BTS and MRT are pretty much close by to anywhere you might find. Of course the prices are a bit on the high side. I like living here, and is why I bought my condo where I did. MRT is just a hop skip and a jump away.
  6. For a moment, and it must be because I need more coffee, I thought that said Bargoing power.....his hi-so friends I am sure will be heading to Thonglor soon.
  7. Try around the Business and Banking districts here in Sathorn. Rama 4 Road was packed and is still packed same with Sathorn Thai Rd, and Silom. MRT exit at Lumpini near the Q house is packed with people exiting the station and standing in que at those food vendors as well. Moto Taxi Que doing a good business as well. Freeway is also fairly busy from my perch, where last week at this time it was pretty empty..
  8. Correct, I only have seen just the story from the TNN Channel 16 news yesterday regarding the Phuket talad closure and the 711 positive ATK tests, seems like they might be trying to hide it just like they are doing with the bubble and sealed factories and such. Why has there not been any updates, and that includes on the Thai news as well as in the Thai papers. Some folks believe that we do not peruse those either and source our information only from the English translated articles or news pieces, which is by and far not even close to where I get all of my info from.
  9. Where are the 711 cases from the market they shut yesterday, oh yeah they were ATK tested.
  10. I guess we shall see. The roads were packed this morning again and as I walked to lumpini park there were many vendors out with people queuing up to buy food for the morning. Let's hope the numbers represent a modest amount of truth. Prison numbers keep growing however.
  11. Bangkok has been scrapped from Step 2. No opening until they reach 70% total vaccinations, then it will be like the Phuket Sandbox, and learning to live with Covid, well maybe, things change daily lately.
  12. Well we do know that with the openings and a lack of true regulations for dining in and shopping at malls the cases will grow. I am sure this is what they want anyway, that way they can still hand out contracts to their buddies who are running the Hospitels, and such. I see it all as an exhibition of stupidity and so do the western countries and why Thailands tourism woes will continue with the red list and the Level 4 travel advisory from the US. China will not be letting their citizens out until mid 2022, so it must be the Indians who will be flocking in droves to Thailand starting in October.
  13. So he has gone from October 1 as Step 2 and within less than 12 hours discarded Bangkok, and decided to keep Chiang Mai, Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin) and Chon Buri (Pattaya) in Step 2 an scheduled to open October 1. Have those provinces reached the 70% target rate yet or is this man dreaming again. Looks like he has also decided to change Step 3 and starting October 15th will add 25 provinces to the 7+7 extension program. Waiting until tomorrow when that will also be scrapped. Bubble and sealed is the only way he can open anything up. I fear he is delusional and forgot to take his ear medicine, oh wait that was Chalerm.....
  14. Well does this mean that Thailand does not believe a person who has recovered from Covid no longer has antibodies.
  15. It is what frustrates the hell out of travelers who make plans in advance only to have to cancel them and either get screwed over or end up with a voucher and no money returned.
  16. Yep, another flip flop and things change hourly now, just like Phuket relaxing the PCR rule for domestic tourists on Day 5......I am sure there will be more twists and turns ahead.
  17. Looks like Step #2 for Bangkok and the four other provinces has now been put on hold "Bangkok reopening plan delayed until most residents fully jabbed" The plan to reopen Bangkok to fully vaccinated foreign tourists will likely be postponed by a month at least to ensure at least 70 per cent of people living in the capital and its adjacent provinces are fully jabbed first. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said on Monday that the plan had been postponed from October 1, when Bangkok and four other provinces – Chiang Mai (Mueang, Mae Rim, Mae Taeng and Doi Tao), Prachuap Khiri Khan (Hua Hin), Phetchaburi (Cha-am) and Chonburi (Pattaya, Bang Lamung and Sattahip) – were scheduled to reopen. He said the country should be fully reopened by January 15 if at least 70 per cent of the population has been fully vaccinated by the end of this year. https://www.nationthailand.com/thai-destination/40005775
  18. Story on TNN 16 now in regards to Phuket now having a major cluster. A large market has now been shut and closed for 14 days with 711 people being tested. It sounded as if all 711 were positive via an ATK test. This is another problem that is beginning to arise again, in that markets are getting crowded with vendors returning to work and customers returning to purchase what's needed. As always stay safe, and social distance if possible.
  19. 1000 baht on your way out please pay the cashier.... what? but that was only short time....
  20. Looks like it is changing by the hour New order waives PCR testing of domestic tourists during stay in Phuket PHUKET: A new provincial order issued by Phuket Governor Narong Woonciew has removed the requirement for domestic tourists to undergo an RT-PCR test for COVID-19 during their stay in Phuket, starting this Wednesday (Sept 8). https://www.thephuketnews.com/new-order-waives-pcr-testing-of-domestic-tourists-during-stay-in-phuket-81307.php
