  1. I have had the same experience once while feeding some Dogs with Left over chicken while I was waiting for the Boat to Ko samet, a Thai lady came

over and quite rudely ask for the food as she has many dogs.

I think she wanted the karma of the kind act.

  2. AdSense you say?

Here today gone tomorrow, site de-ranked and sin binned.

Don't put all your eggs in1 basket.

No, I said the current webmaster is only using AdSense.

Its was establish in 2004 and is one of the top ranks forum in its niche market.

This would not be my only basket if I do decide to buy it.

  3. You want us to give you a price based on not seeing what the site is? So what is the site for? Is it a store? Is it an information site? <deleted> is it? blink.png

Its all about the numbers of visits (traffic) per month and what it is earning per month, Its a Forum. The Topic is irrelevant IMO.

    Never mind next...

  4. I have been offered to buy a Internet Forum - The owner doesn't have the time to run it anymore and they have not put much effort in recently so loads of

    room to improve.

Here are the stats of the forum:

    It was established in 2004

    20,000+ Members

    15,000+ Unique visitors
    30,000+ Page views (per month)

The Owner has not really done a great job on this site and is currently only making $1000 a month.

I think I can buy it at a cheap price and better monetize it.

Note: I wont be Disclosing the Website address. Its also American Based and Legal, nothing to do with Thailand.

  5. It would be very helpful to lead with your current issue but also tell the whole story from the beginning,

"What I want to do is to have my laptop connected to the modem by cable and my wife's laptop using the wireless connection. This will mean that my computer will go slightly faster because it's connected bu wire. [...] I hooked a wire up between the modem and my laptop but the task bar says I'm connected wirelessly."
"I disconnected from the WiFi and it must have automatically connected to the cable. It's defiantly faster now. So if my WiFi signal was slow and kept disconnected maybe my WiFi receiver is dodgy.I dropped my laptop and had to get it repaired.

"I have a Lenova laptop and it keeps disconnecting from the net. My wife laptop is in the same room and it doesn't happen to hers. I connect it by wire or by WI-fi but it still happens."
"Down in the task-bar I get a brown X where it shows the connection to the modem. I use windows. [...]"
"Yes,windows 7 and I have my own TP-link modem in the same room as the laptop. I have downloaded slim driver and am going through the process of installing [the] updates."
"O.K, I did the slim drivers 8 updates last night and left the computer on all night downloading a torrent. It was still connected when I woke up this morning witch is a miracle considering that yesterday I didn't know that my computer even had a driver. The one problem I have now, presuming I don't loose connection again, is that at some stage I said yes when I was asked if I wanted to create a restore point or something and now there is much less free space on my disk C."
Hopefully that brings everyone reading back up to speed.

    That helps biggrin.png

There was a lot more to the Issue than I expected.

Obliviously OP may have damage the network card on his laptop drop

    Or

With all the messing around with wireless/network etc OP have somehow messed up the network software setting on your laptop.

  6. After you Complete the above I would recommend if your using Internet Explorer to reset it also.

    Go to

Control Panel\Network and Internet - Open - Internet Options

Go to the advanced Tap and click - restore advanced settings

Then click the - Reset button at the bottom of the tap and this will clean your Explorer to factory setting

(be aware that you have the options not to delete your passwords that are saved on Internet explorer)

  7. It could be that your having IP Conflict where two Computers are trying to connect to the same IP address.

Reset the router by simple plugging it out for a minute.

Then Reset your network card on your Laptop

    To reset the adapter:

    1. Open Network Connections by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_47., clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.

    2. Right-click the network adapter icon, and then click Disable. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_41. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Right-click the adapter icon again, and then click Enable. 18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_41. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

The adapter is now reset. Try connecting to the network again, or run Network Diagnostics to verify that your network adapter is now

    working correctly.

Open Network Diagnostics by right-clicking the network icon in the notification area, and then clicking Diagnose and repair.

  8. The Air in Nonthaburi is much cleaner and fresher that central Bangkok, I travel out there once a week and the Different in Air Quality is unbelievable,

Bangkok needs to start using Cleaner engines in the Buses and Canal Boats etc . Would be a start.

  9. Australians call a lady a " Sheila "in England a " bird " ( women hate it! lol ) but what is the story why Australians call a lady Sheila ? Just wondered.....

Oh and I just loved "Sir Les Patterson " ( an Australian Legend )

    Farang Jaidee x

Sheila was derived from an Irish girl's name Sila, but the term isn't used much amongst the younger generation these days.

Sheila Is a load, easily aroused women from the outback in Australia, and is still widely used and associated with Aussies.

Nothing to do with the Irish name "Sila"

  10. How will I know its been rebraned? What brand will it now be and what brand was it before?

Most laptops in the prize range if 15,000 to 20,000 in shops such as "Power City" will be of good quality and parts. So visit a Brand name Computer store and try out the laptops yourself and pick a Laptop and Brand that you would feel comfortable with.

  11. Living on a small budget in Thailand is possible but i would strongly recommend to look for a nice cheap apartment at a low cost ( these are available all over Thailand in Thai areas but it will need a bit of footwork and knocking on a few doors to find them! ) Try and keep your accommodation to a max of 2,000 baht a month.( My costs for my room (furnished) are 2000 baht a month for rent ( inc free wifi and sat tv ) water & electric combined costs 500 baht a month max )

Monthly mobile phone top up is 150 baht ( 100 baht for private internet 20 hours per month ) and 50 baht for calls! ( all my calls are with Viber ( free ) it should be noted that i do not stroll about with a phone stuck to my ear viewers.. I normally allow 500 baht a month for Coffee, soap, toothpaste, bleach ( not for my hair...) deodorant and razors, shampoo etc etc.

I would strongly recommend to NOT buy a motor bike or car ( expensive and not needed ) I love to walk everywhere or buy a bicycle ( 1,500 baht new in tesco lotus ) it will keep you fit and no excuse with this fab weather too! ( motor bikes cost money, also extremely dangerous and will make you " bloody lazy " ) Trains are the best way for travelling long distance ( Bangkok to Hua hin from only 44 baht - " fabulous " )

Laundry costs 20 baht to use the washing machine ( i do one wash a month ) No need to iron clothes - please note that life is not a " fashion show " ( although it was for myself in the late 1970's viewers when i worked as a Male Model - " fabulous " )

Razors are just 25 baht for a pack of 5 from Tesco Lotus ( i shave once a week ) you will need and extra pack if you wish to " shave your legs " gentlemen ....

I would strongly advise to purchase a small " rice cooker " for about 200 baht - they are wonderful and you can make so many delicious dishes at home ( i make, vegetarian dishes, soups, risottos, and even make bread in it too! )

100 baht goes a long way and i budget for an average meal at around 30 baht max ( home made or bought ) Tesco lotus have some nice meals from 30 baht too! You must eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables but wash then well first! Huge 20 litre containers of water are delivered to my room for 15 baht.( i drink about 3 litres a day ) I don't drink or smoke and obviously if you do wish for a bit of " hows your father " ( romantic passion of delight ) then of course when you are living in Thailand that will be absolutely Free ( if you play your cards right !) Are you " holding Aces " viewers...?

I am on the beach most afternoons ( free ) and after 25 years of being a " beach bum " i still love it! Its nice to have a sun tan -nothing worse than pale skin on anybody! Do you look like " Rentaghost " viewers?

When you do live on 100 baht a day you will realise how much money people waste on absolute rubbish every day!

The sun is shining viewers so it's time for another daily adventure!

Op, You should start writing a Blog/book "Living in Thailand on a shoestring" coffee1.gif

  12. As far as I know, there is not a British/Irish bar there. Vientiane is quite a sleepy capital city. More like a provincial town. The Bor Ben Nyang seems to be the most popular "foreign type" bar in Vientiane. It is upstairs on the main road in front of the river and close to the night market. It was quite crowded the night I was in there with some colleagues.

    +1

This rooftop bar is the best bar in Vientiane IMO, live music, pool tables, good atmosphere and modern decor and great views over the riverbanks and night market.
