  1. Both, Memorial and BPH administrative/international services have arranged nurses for friends already. This has been a while back, these nurses came from a Bangkok agency within 24 hours, monthly cost, all included 24/7 with the patient was about 25'000 Baht. Don't have any names/numbers so must find and insist in hospital office. In Memorial it was the back than the admistrator lady in the payment office, very helpful and friendly.

Also had prior good experiences with similar case as yours with the already mentioned "Goldfenage". After some calls they showed up with an ambulance to pick up a resident here in Pattaya to bring him to Bangkok.

    Best of luck. ER

  2. Hi Radiola

You are good for some entertainment on TV. But in reality you should stop day-dreaming, come over here for an extended period and check out all your ideas, questions and fantasies in person. Have you ever been to Thailand at all? To answer your question. Renting is not easy and the problems for most landlords are even worse than in their home-country. Running it through an agent will probably leave you with 5-6% ROI, but then again it is location, services and amenities that will determine this.. For 10'000 Baht/mth you can find plenty nice studios in very good locations.Have a nice day. ER

  3. Talk to Kh. Shuvit on Pattaya Klang, just below Carrefour/Big C. Best go shortly before 5pm, as he is often out on jobs. He speaks E well and if it is available in Thailand he will be able to get it. Good luck. ER

  4. Am I the only one to think that workers do not deserve any salary hike in this country ?

Shouldn't they show more interest and responsability in their work before expecting any salary increase ?

Absolutely not! But this won't happen until it starts in the family and school. Many small and big companies closing down. And everybody complaining that prices are going up for just about everything and more to come.

  5. Dear all:

I used to live in Lamai for several years a long time back and intend to move back to Samui in the next 6 months. Can anyone give me some advise on where to start looking to purchase a house with min. 1/2 - 3/4 Rai land. Looking for large, preferably bungalow style open floor-plan home in good location. I have a couple of dogs and want a large pool too.

Not too far from beach, I guess at the moment still Lamai area would be ok. Would also consider building.

Anybody can recommend a good, fair realtor? Any info and feedback much appreciated. ER.

  6. Okay, how about any office in Pattaya that offers translation services? As I am unfamiliar with the area, help most appreciated!

I was thinking of the British consulate but they don't offer translation services do they? MFA in Bangkok not necessary but the company that does the translation must be registered as offering translation services.

    Thanks

I have used a company in Soi Post Office (Soi 13/2 of Beach Road) but I can't remember the name.

A quick search came up with this other company

MG /Enterprise opp. Post Office a couple hundred meter up from Beach Rd. right hand side / red/black business sign.

  7. Can chlorine be use to make bomb?

    Or gas bomb in MRT?

If yes, it should be controlled.

Only people with license can buy/sell.

Can petrol be used to make a bomb?

Can fairy liquid be used to make a bomb?

Can oxygen be used to make a bomb?

Can bottles be used to make a bomb?

Gonna be needing a lot of licenses to go do your weekly shopping.

  8. Hi Dario

Try Home& Pool towards the North end of 3rd. Rd. about 200m before Nua/intersection.

    Better use liquid chlorine.

OR: Just buy a can of Bleach/Haiter (yellow or pink bottle) which does the the job perfectly. Needs very little. If you want to go easy for the kid's sake/health buy the color-proof bleach/haiter which comes in small bottles, the one with the larger cap. This is not chlorine based, but Peroxide based. Friendship Supermarket. Be careful with dosage in any case. ER.

  9. Also interested!

And I wonder if they have a work permit...

I was told by a hotel owner in Samui, there are laws in place to get easy work-permits for hotel staff as it is so hard to find Thai staff. When I went to report my 90 days there was a large group of Burmese in some hotel uniforms at the office, too. But where/how to find such staff? ER

  10. Dear all:

I have not been to Phuket in 10 yrs. smile.png

Could anybody point me to a clean guesthouse, small hotel, bungalows with decent size pool, clean, friendly and affordable, walking distance to beach an advantage, for an extended stay in Kata and/or Karon.

Also, when is Songkran in Phuket, how bad/wet is it? As rough as in Pattaya?

Also, is the sea still ok for swimmming middle of April?

    Thank you. ER.jap.gif

  12. Several of my visiting friends have become regulars in Diana-Oasis, Soi Bouakao. They rent new and modern studios in prime central location on Soi Bouakao . Staff reported to be very friendly. Check it out on their website. wai.gif
