Why i like Thailand
Thailand was great for western retirees/visitors in the '60s, 70's and '80s. Cheap flights in the '90s resulted in the arrival of large numbers of farangs who dressed badly, spoke badly and behaved badly. Observing this Thais at all levels became less friendly. This has, however, improved recently. Hopefully the improvement will continue, and will bring things nearer to how they were all those years ago.

Opinion Editorial: No, It Isn’t Time to Worry About RETIREMENT VISA Changes….Yet
No basis for this whatsoever, merely scaremongering.

OPINION: Brief history of two frenemies
I sense, as I have from the moment the election results were announced, a government led by Prawit with Anutin in a prominent role, will be in place in due course. All going according to plan...

Move Forward apologise to supporters as Pheu Thai forms new coalition
Being in opposition is not a bad place to be for the MFP given the disgusting display of greed and treachery now going on following their withdrawal. Time is on their side. Meantime, oppose vigourously, and stay true to your cause.

Move Forward’s uncompromising stand on some policies its main mistake – NIDA Poll
All credit to the MFP for not compromising. They will have to go into opposition mode, but time is on their side. The coup-appointed 'senators' will have gone before the next election at which time the MFP has a real chance of an overall majority.

Pita and his “devil may care” attitude
The objections by the coup- appointed 'senators' to any change in the lese majeste law are entirely false and hypocritical. They make a lot of money with the way things are, that is why they want no change.

Pita’s Ambitions to be the Next Thai Prime Minister End
A shameful situation, and an insult to the millions of Thais who voted for the MFP.

General Prawit may emerge next week to clinch Prime Minister’s job due to a polarised parliament
The military and business elite don't care about passing new legislation. They want things to stay just as they are.

Move Forward Party’s Thai PM Candidate Pita Fails First Round of Voting
Farcical and shameful. I wonder if Pita should take the MFP into opposition for now, and focus on the next election when, hopefully, the current bunch of so-called senators will be long gone.

EC sends Pita shareholding case to Charter Court
This is an uttter disgrace but entirely predictable from an outfit as corrupt as the EC.

Repatriated Elephant Passes Health Check for Diseases
Good to see the care he's being given, however it's a shame to see how badly most elephants are treated in Thailand.

Former House Speaker defends Prawit as outgoing deputy PM naps in parliament
Sad to think that Chuan was once respected as one of a very few honest politicians in Thaland.

Bank of Thailand considers interest rate cuts to address household debt
Ridiculous proposal which wilil not help debtors in any way whatsoever. Could, though, push the value of the baht down against foreign currencies which would be good news for many of us.

Pita Should Be Given Just One Chance Of Being Voted For PM: Settha
MFP were always going to be shafted by PT. Best they stay above these treacberous, two-faced squabbles and go into opposition. Times are changing in Thailand and their day will come sooner than the business and military elite imagine.

Golf dreams dashed: Thailand’s rising star disqualified from US Women’s Open after 5-hole fiasco
It's a shame that range finders have been allowed in any form of golf.

Marijuana has a calming effect while meth results in, inter-alia, extreme aggression.

Good news. Expect more to follow. From a UK perspective Mordaunt appears to be one very few UK govt ministers who is both active and competent.

Baht falls to 7-month low as unease grows over chances of Pita Limjaroenrat being elected as PM
I hope I'm wrong but it seems likely that 14 million Thais will be ignored and, effectively, cancelled by 250 non-elected senators appointed by those who brought about the latest coup. Shameful, but entirely predictable sad to say.

RTP warn porn enthusiasts to stay ‘hard’ on security as unsuspecting victim loses 3 million baht
I'm not clear how and why 3m baht changed hands in this case.

Ruangkrai launches new bid to prevent Pita from becoming prime minister
What needs to be identified and then made public is who it is who is pulling his strings. I have been told he is entirely controlled by family members close to the business and military elite.
