    These scenes are typical of those that can now be observed in areas of many major cities in America and, increasingly, in western Europe. The so-called war on drugs has been a hugely expensive failure in terms of lives and money. Whether narcotics or opioids, way better to legalise, licence, regulate, control and tax.

    These 'sources' have already been discredited. The damage to the Iranian nuclear sites has been devastating according to qualified officials from both the Iranian and US governments.

    Immigration officials are welcome to visit us at our house in Bangkok any time although they have never done so during my last 40 years plus in Thailand. If this is genuinely a tougher scrutiny of us expats I am very much in favour of it

    Don't panic, these changes may never happen. There is already back- tracking going on, with a delay of up to 90 days already announced, while the Shinawatra govt is facing a no-confidence vote.

    Time will tell, although it does appear that Iran's nuclear development facilities were significantly damaged by a well planned and executed bombing raid. I suspect Israeli intelligence will confirm the extent of the serious damage before too long.

    I suspect this delay on new cannabis regulations could well run on for longer than 60 days depending on how Thaksin's bid for legalising casinos goes. Anutin is still a player in this game and has powerful backing. If Anutin comes round to supporting Thaksin's ambition for casinos it is likely the proposed reforms of his cannabis business will be quietly dropped.
