  1. Return flight is Mar 14th. Just over 45 days past Jan 28.
  2. Dr Jack-- Thanks. I failed to specify: If I return from VTE via ground to Nong Khai there is no problems with that also?l Just being ultra careful.
  3. I'M USA with a Non-Imm O multi visa (SAV last year Dec 26 2023) My last entry was at BKK 31 Oct; I was stamped in, 90 days (28 Jan 2024. My visa has valid until Dec 26. I /We (Thai wife with me) have return to USA flt on Mar 14th. I have been unable to change this flight date. We will be in Nong Khai Dec 21-23. If I stamp out, stay overnite, and return will I get the 90 day 'extension'? Un- named local IMO said I would only get 30 days; one of them admitted to "dont know" and the other 2 had no idea. The IO trip was a circus. I might returning to my residence by air VTE to BKK. Will the IO in BKK give me a new 90 days stay? My last option could be Going back over to Savannakhet to get a 90 day visa, as I do not wish to store funds as with the annual visa with recent changes. Hope I logically laid this out. Any advice will be appreciated.
  4. Brit Tim I agree However, I must return to pay uncle sam. Also, We have lots of visitors and Christmas stuff and I have a friend who will drive me over--we are in KKC. Thanks to the response.
  5. US married to Thai and relatives from USA are coming over 2 weeks around Christmas. My valid until date is Dec 26. I seem to remember reading that one can't have more than visa but maybe I misread that. I need to go on the 19th which lines up with return flight March 16. Info will be appreciated.
  6. Thank you Sheryl for your response. I have been out of Thailand since for health and business in the USA. If I depart on 26 Dec and apply for a new one will the SAV Thai issue a new one on 27 Dec?
  7. USA 74 year old, married to Thai/USA wife. I have a current NON-IMM O MULTI valid until 26 Dec 2023. I wish to return to Savannakhet and I want to go to Laos and purchase another in Dec 2023. If I exit Thailand on 26 Dec or earlier and exit with current status, is there any issue in doing so? If this a stupid question ,and it may be, I seemed to remember a similar question being addressed about a year ago. Thanks for any response.
  8. All, I finally got my head of my xxx. Brit Tim and Upnotover are correct. And, again, thanks.
  9. Maestro, My apology for sloppy post and my scanner is out of commission. It was A O1 multi to stay, with spouse, 1 year, booked in Savnnakeht. And, I would just purchase another Multi visa.
  10. 73 year old USA with Thai (usa) spouse and am on a O1 multi . I departed TH in Feb 2023 for medical needs. Visa is valid until Dec 23 2023. I plan to return O/A Oct 4th. 2023. My origional plan was to stay until Feb and get another multi at SAV. and return to TH in FEB. I seem to remember someone with similar situation and had issues with the multi had extended his permission to stay. Did I say very confused? Assistance please.
  11. DrJack, I like what I heard. but since I do not only exit for short periods out of Thailand. What we prefer is to do 2 RT flights 3/3/3/3, for simplicity, but sometime we trim in a week or two one way or the other. I can't plan without knowing a few things to make the best decisions. I need a bit more info; how short in duration the away period might be to earn the new extension. How and who calculates the awarding, the IO at arrivals? And, how long on this visa does this acruel continue? When do I begin buying extenions of stay? I'm a bit confused.
  12. OP: USA, 73yo male, entered with 45 day visa exempt I went to nearby Thai Consulate last week thinking I knew what I was doing, having used the Non O with spouse several years ago. I did not! I got the visa, asking for a 1 year stay. My visa is valid for 1 year and is a "multiple". IO stamped me in at the border and stamped me for 90 days. I did not understand that so I checked with DC and California consulates websites but they didnt help with rules or limitations. 1. Do I have to do a border run every 90 days? And, if so, do I need re entry doc to return. Or, what is the multiple for? 2. I remember, again a long time ago, I would return to USA for business/etc and return for the "valid before date" then get credited the absent period--Does this still apply? Thanks for any info. BTW: This is not a trip report but the consulate in Savannakhet was swamped Tues/Wed and those days are thought to be the light days. There was almost an hour on each day to get the process started. Also, I made a personal assessment that there were a large of the applicants were speaking a language I believe to be from a Large nation to the north.
  13. Thank you again; quite interesting. Excellent coverage on this subject!
