  1. was given an extension. First had to wait one hour in a packed room for my wife to notify that i live with her as i did an in and out in Cambodia three months before. I was lucky i was not fined and told not to do it again. Every time i leave the country, regardless if it is for an in and out my wife needs to photocopy everything again, wait at least an hour at immigration in a packed room and let them know within 24 hours or pay a 1500 baht fine. She can not do it online.

This is a list of the Documents I needed last time I got my extension based on Marriage

Please note: For First extension you may need witnesses, ask your Immigration.

I used a Fixed Deposit Account for the Money in the Bank, but you could use a savings account as well as long as the money (400K) is in the account at least 2 months.

    1)    TM 7 Immigration Form

    1. Photo Size 4x6 (2 x) to stick on TM 7

    2)    Copy Passport

    1.     Copy Face Page
    2.     Copy last Non – O
    3.     Copy Last Entry Stamp into Thailand

    4.     Copy First Page (Name)
    5.     Copy other relevant Pages

    Everything Double Copy

    About the process.

After the Immigration officer handles and sorts and checks the documents, 1 stack of papers will be send to the Regional Immigration Head office and 1 stack will be kept at the local Immigration.

Then you will get a "Under Consideration" Stamp in your passport that after approx 30 days you have to go back to Immigration to get the "verdict" / Final Stamp because the decision has to come from the Regional Immigration Head Office.

Cost: 1900 THB for the application.

After reading that i will stick to my non o multi entry... sounds like a nightmare. Who thinks up having to take all those photos? Why on the bed? Half the stuff they ask for is just to keep desk jobs busy with paperwork. So much anxiety trying to get everything in order.

  3. I was told every time i leave the country, even if it is for an in  and out cambodia to get another 90s days on my non o multi, my wife has to report within 24 hours that i am living at her house. If she doesn't within 24hoours its a 1500 baht fine. So she forgot to and doesn't want to go because she knows she has to pay the fine. When we went before to do it they people at immigration are quite rude because they are not getting money for a fine. They are extremely nice to the people who they are asking money from. I cant do it online, only hotels can.

  4. Hi, I am on a non O multiple entry and my Visa runs out on the 29th of Jan. I need to go and get a new one at Savannahket. My wife forgot to go to Jomtien Immigration and tell them where I live when i last did my extension in Cambodia. Do i need to get her to do it before i leave? I know they will fine her for not doing it. Or can i just go to Savannahket and do it the day i get back to Thailand so they wont fine me? If i dont go will I have any hassles at the border going out of Thailand? What is the fine for not reporting that I live at my wifes house, only 1500 baht?

    Thanks

A fungicide kills or suppresses fungi; it does not kill or repel beetles or their larvae or centipede like creatures. Insecticides do that. But before chemical treatment is used it's important to identify exactly what is going on, and what would be the target of the treatment, so that appropriate method and material can be used safely and effectively.

It's not likely that this condition was initiated as a fungal disorder, unless you are overhead watering the crown of the palm daily or something like that. But fungal organisms may be secondary to insect pest activity.

It would help to have photos or a description of the growing conditions for your palm and the damaged areas.

If I understand correctly, the newly emerging leaves/fronds are affected by some malady that is resulting in decay at the base of the fronds, not the base of the trunk at the soil grade. Is that right?

The most likely cause, as Cooked indicated, is an advanced infestation of beetle/weevil pests that invade and feed on the emerging foliage and bore into the woody stem at the base of the foliar crown. Heavy feeding by the pests can result in dead and decayed areas that become active with decay fungi and opportunistic dead vegetation feeders like millipedes, and possibly centipedes, if that's what you saw,  Or were the creatures more like big fat white grubs?

Coconut rhinoceros beetles are very common and they can start the party. The adults emerge from their breeding grounds in downed wood, compost piles and debris, and fly to the crown of the palms to feed and bore big holes as they munch. Then red palm weevils follow in the galleries that the CRBs make, lay eggs that hatch into hungry big grubs that keep the feasting going and weaken the palm growing points.

Advanced infestations with a lot of damage present are hard to control, and the tree may not recover. Cooked, again pointed that out, that it may be too late. The key to assessment of mortality or hope for recovery, is if there is a viable, green growing terminal bud emerging at the top center of the palm.  If not and the fronds are all brown, then the beetles have won and finished off their own food source, and will go on to another.  If you have other palms, consider a preventive pest control program and don't wait for an advanced condition before taking action.

If that's what is going on, preventive and control measures are outline in the attached papers.

Hi, after cleaning out the rot and millipieades the palms are now quickly growing up with a few chew marks. There is no rotting and I think the infestation has gone. I will have to check every couple of weeks to see if it happens again.

Thanks for your help. Also i have pests eating my grape vine, is there any advice you can give me for that with out using pesticide?

  6. Hi. I was employed for several years and had a work permit. I purchased a car through a bank loan and have been paying insurance. I have left my job and my insurance want a copy of my work permit. I have not told them I have left my job. Are there any issues with not having a work permit now with having a bank loan or car insurance. I have a NON O marriage visa multi entry.

    Thanks for any help.

Probably a goner by now. (in my experience). You can try a fungicide.

    Do you have beetle infection?

I dug around a little of the rot and found a few centipede like creatures that i suspect might bee beetles. I pulled them out as well as some of the rot. Do you suggest fungicide to keep them away?

    Thanks

  8. Because its in the schools policy, if you complete a contract you get a 10k bonus. Everyone else is given a contract in English that clearly states this. I signed one in my first year but they said they never had a copy of it when I asked for it. I felt grateful because I got a work permit without a degree, but now I see whats really going on and I want to leave. I always thought I could leave  when I wanted to because I had no contract.

The proper way would be to submit a resignation and cancel your work permit. That might eliminate any problems if you want to work here again.

You are not obligated to stay until your work permit ends.

Since you have an extension based upon marriage it is not effected by you no longer working.

Thanks. Do they have to accept it? If i had a contract I would of received a bonus. I never signed anything in English in the past 2 years. I may of signed something in Thai, I feel that this was a trick used.

  10. HI, I wish to leave my language school immediately because i wish to go to another school. I have a work permit but no contract and I have worked there for 2 years. Does the work permit mean I have to work until that runs out? If i have no contract does that mean I am not bound to any obligations? Can i simply walk in and say I quit, thankyou and goodbye? I have a non o marriage visa that has nothing to do with my employment.

    Thanks for any help.

If you have a multiple entry visa issued by a embassy or consulate you do not need a re-entry permit.

Sent from my SM-T231 using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile app

I got a 2 month extension of stay and it finishes at april 20th, underneath it says +To keep your stay permit, re entry permit must be made before leaving Thailand.  I got my Non o from savannaket 21 November 2016.

Is this some mistake?  Also if i am travelling with my wife and baby can i line up in the Thai passport line if i show my marriage certificate? Thanks for a reply in advance.

Yes been back for the last 3 weeks or so

All parked  along both sides second road Jomtien.

Plus a Mini van fleet has arrived just past the roundabout heading south.

up to the area of the boat fleet storage area,    by the traffic lights.

Jomtien is  pattaya's dumping ground and not just for building rubbish.

    Amazing Pattaya.

Apparently.the brightly painted new buses driving around are the old OAT busses that were confiscated.
