  1. What is with this "effeminate" reference to the teacher who went to Singapore? Most child molesters appear to be straight, have families, and abuse their own children. Gays are attracted to the same sex and are not pedophiles. Another comment akin to sexy dressing causes rape. What a primitive, uninformed, uninsightful, repressed group of people!!!.

How can these folks be so blind to the devastating effects molestation has on children? I am in a group of recovering people and every drug abuser who is a woman in the group was sexually abused as a child. Coincidence? I think not. Get a grip guys!!!!!!

While I tend to agree with much of what you say, I cannot agree with your statement "Gays are attracted to the same sex and are not pedophiles." Do you mean, unless they are priests? Are pedophiles attracted to the same sex child not homosexual? Gay,straight, or bisexual; pedophiles like children for sex.

    Not sure that pedophiles can be considered gay or straight. A man who assaults young girls is a pedophile, not a "straight" pedophile, but a pedophile alone. The same must be said for a man who assaults young boys. {Or female pedophiles}

Gay or straight are sexual preferences linked to a persons whole being.

Pedophiles are a whole different creature and I'm not sure they belong in either category.

Purely a personal perspective and am in no way claiming this is linked to any sort of study or psychological definition of a pedophile.

I just don't see them as part of the same spectrum as gay or straight people.

Then, in your mind, there would be no sexual orientation difference bewtween an adult male who likes little boys and an adult male who likes little girls?

A pedophile is someone who is sexually attracted to prepubescent children (either boys or girls or both). There are other names for people who are attracted sexually to children who have or are going through puberty.

So no there is no difference if a pedophile is attracted to boys or girls - it's got to do with the stage of the child's development (prepubescent).

A gay person is someone who is sexually attracted to someone of the same sex.

I have worked with victims is this area (among others) for over 15 years.

  2. After 27 years of living here, I've found Jet Ski operators to be some of the worse people in Thailand, expecially those in Phuket.

Nothing will ever be done about their scams, so it's best just to advise everyone not to rent them...

you made a bit of a typo there...

Nothing will ever be done about their scams, so it's best just to advise everyone not to rent them travel to Thailand...

    fixed!

  3. Do you think all parents have common sense in their statements when they lose a loved one? If so then we really do need to listen to these ones also

The parents of a British holidaymaker who died in suspicious circumstances in Thailand are convinced he was murdered – and the killing covered up to protect tourism.
Nick Pearson, 25, was on a family vacation to the island of Koh Tao when he was found dead on New Year’s Day. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/thailand-beach-death-parents-convinced-4410135

OK!! So I take it that you think that she WAS murdered by the Mafia then!! Yes?

Thats what the parents think, no point in disagreeing with the parents according to you. Guess you need to qualify that that now?

Not "according to me" that's for you to decide!! I have stated my position - now you should state yours (if it differs) or stop criticising mine.

Your position is based totally on unsubstantiated information.

  4. No!!, I don't - but her parents described it as this (not me). They clearly didn't need the results of an autopsy to determine this (even if their choice of words is not accurate) they have simply used common sense to come to this conclusion - something that an alarmingly high proportion of TV members seem to lack at times!! .

And you know they "have simply used common sense to come to this conclusion" how?

    link?...

  5. Are you for real? Really...

they worked it out and decided themselves

Do you know what natural causes are?

    clap2.gif

Natural causes are something that is not deemed to be unnatural or suspicious in any way.

These are not my words by the way, they came from her parents in a statement THEY made, so if you want to mock anybody then mock them!!!

    interweb...

The sudden death of a previously healthy young individual is a rare but tragic event. Every year about one in 100,000 people aged between one and 35 dies suddenly of a natural cause.

The vast majority of sudden death cases in the young are caused by diseases of the heart. In about 70% of cases, an autopsy reveals a structural abnormality of the heart which led to a fatal cardiac arrhythmia.

  6. Nobody informed the family that she died of natural causes - they worked it out and decided themselves as it is so obvious to them what her cause of death was!!

BTW I never claimed anything, I just stated facts and her family's opinions.

If someone drowns after a boat capsizes they still have to do an autopsy on the body.

    Are you for real? Really...

they worked it out and decided themselves

Do you know what natural causes are?

  7. The British press have got it wrong again (as they did with Hannah and David's murder).

The murdered woman's family have stated that she died of natural causes and not under suspicious circumstances!!

If they (the UK gutter press) had written about there being a Mafia culture on Koh Toh then fair enough BUT linking this death to Mafia gangs is bang out of order and I don't blame the Mayor for being enraged about shoddy/outrageous reporting.

Perhaps you can clear something up for me? The family stated she died from natural causes based on the fact the tweeted that she'd bought some antibiotics and was never heard from again, correct? So who told the family their daughter died from natural causes? In the article it says "Police have yet to determine the cause of death for Annesley". Perhaps you can clear this up for us please?

She was also taking tramadol (strong pain killer), valium (strong anti-anxiety drug) and drinking alcohol as well as the anti-biotiics for her chronic chest infection. There was no signs of violence, theft, bruises on the body or anything being disturbed in the room!!

Her parents do not see her death as being suspicious (they have stated so) so where does the Mafia come in on this?

Now please tell how and why you agree with the UK press in implying that her death has something to do with them.

Police have yet to determine the cause of death for Annesley

    Rest my case...

  8. It's OK as the Indians really are the traditional owners...

Mystic claims Angkorian temples built in India

In the satsangs, or assemblies, he calls on his followers to “please understand” that the Cambodian temples are far older than the 900 or 1,000 years asserted by “cunning” Western historians, and that many of the temples were not built in the Kingdom at all.

  9. ...

Thailand’s Fine Arts Department said expert relic hunters helped choose the five particular objects which included a Khmer-style Buddha, Shiva, Brahma and multi-limbed figure.
Thailand, which has recognized that many of the objects recovered were indeed fake, has said it would return 16 of genuine artifacts with another 20 under consideration.

    Sums it all up.

  10. Soi Thaniya is a private service sector of Patpong catering to rich Japanese who wish to spend time (and money) in private clubs with Thai girls. If farangs or Indians or Africans are not allowed in, so be it.

The taxi driver OTOH is in the public sector, offering his vehicle for hire. Big difference.

    Respectfully disagree.

The clubs in Chonburi that only allow Japanese customers (no other foreigners nor Thai) are discriminating based on nationality.

These are public businesses, not private enterprises. The same discrimination is being employed by the taxi driver.

Both are wrong and both would result in multi-million dollar lawsuits in western countries.

Feelgood Gyms in Australia only allow female members - 100% legit. You can have legal discrimination.

  11. Correct me if I am wrong but is there not or was there a Japanese only Soi next to PatPong? caters to thai ladies for Japanese only. If anyone else goes there they will not serve you.

Haha, true that. But its apples and oranges I think. Soi Thaniya is not exactly a "public service" sector, although it may seem like it!

Sorry I don't understand apples and oranges. If it is not a public service sector what is it?

Isn't it apples and bananas... thumbsup.gif

  12. The first thing one does in developing a marketing strategy is to ask yourself "What do my customers want?". So ask yourself "Why do tourist come to Pattaya? What do they want? What are they seeking?" Once you have answered those questions (and the answers should be obvious for a town with Pattaya's reputation), then feed that demand with high quality and high quantity at a reasonable price. If necessary, the local government should step in with subsidies if necessary.

Yes, 1/2 price for short time, and daily discounts for long time services!

What about a frequent visitor card, after 10 'visits' get one free!! wub.png

  13. Makes you wonder what's in the street food served up in Thailand, doesn't it?

Just gotta take a dig at Thailand, don't you? Well this happened in Japan. But I'm sure if this had happened in Thailand, the haters would be out in force to attack the Thais for lack of food safety. How come no comment about food safety in Japan?

What an utterly stupid comment from an ignoramus who has no knowledge of my posting history, which is largely defensive of Thailand and its ways.

The tooth has been planted 100%

    Just like your post facepalm.gif

  14. "Kobkarn attributed the decline in tourist arrivals and revenues to the political crisis in Thailand during "the first half of 2014," in which parts of Bangkok were paralyzed by street protests that aimed to topple the government of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra." Quote

Of course it has nothing to do with the fact that delivering a third class product and charging for first class??

Tourists are not stupid, and have finally started to vote with their feet!!

Must be hard for the Thais to realize, that there are better and cheaper options to LOS!!

    Such as?

    Cambodia

  15. Some of the comments here already are quite gormless.

Do you people not realise that Thailand has a tourist industry and that anything criminal, of any nature (however bad) affects the desire of people to visit?

Sitting in your ivory towers you must feel very self-satisfied.

Do you realise that by not allowing the reporting of and thus not allowing scrutiny of any police action is a form a censorship.

All the checks and balances are thrown out the window!

How many tourists are victims of corruption? The RTP are such model examples they enhance the reputation of Thailand cheesy.gif
