The funny thing is that we see the 700 baht departure tax + the 300 baht entry tax now (total 1000) as something outrageously Thai... but it is quite common for different countries to have these hidden fees that most people never see and never know about... (just the names differ).  Australia has a $45AUD tax for international flights out, Canada has up to a $45 Airport Improvement Fee (depending on airport you exit from),  UK has a fee that ranges from £13 and £194 (depending on class etc.).  If it makes you happy the Thai government could just call it a 1,000baht movement fee like Australia does (and the details of what it is for are buried in the budgets).

I suppose the difference is other Countries hide these charges whereas  Thailands authoritarians revels in this stuff.

During the peak in my state of Colorado we had an average of 23 people per hospital. That's from roughly 2500 active hospitalizations and 108 hospitals, in a population of 5.8 million. Please anyone explain how Thailands chaotic public hospital system would have have any idea whatsoever if there were 20-30 more people in the hospital.

US has terrible numbers compared to any Asian country and most European countries (compare CO with Denmark which has a similar population) so Thailand would most certainly have much lower hospitalizations.

Covid deaths per head of population in America 1.67%  is way lower than the global average of 2.15% or UKs 2.71%. Thailand 0,51%, go figure.

They throw all these numbers and percentages out there, to make it look like they have a clue about whats happening...

But they still can't say how many people have actually been tested or are being tested !!

If these are genuine numbers then there is no justification for curfews and business closures now... Oh but we have to worry about the 2nd wave right.....

And the third and forth, this thing is here to stay for years so there isn’t much point in hibernating until everyone is royally screwed.

It doesn't matter where you buy the subscription, it works based on where you are in the world.  You get the content based on your location (unless using a VPN, many of which Netflix will detect and ignore).

For instance, I have a Thai-based subscription - when I use it in the UK it works just fine but gives me content for the UK (no Thai language content, for example). My neighbour has a subscription bought in Canada, when he uses it here he gets the Thai programming.

I have Australian Netflix and I can watch it here in Thailand without my VPN and the content is Australian, not Thai. So no matter where you are, once you login you get the same content as where you purchased Netflix.

I support her. She's sticking it to the same people that ruin everything in the world. We have leaders that don't know about the issues at all. Most of the posters here are old and most old people can't get it. I'm old too but I've always cared about the natural world. Anyways, if this forum had more people in their teens, 20s and 30s, we would be reading a lot more diverse opinions on this.

On a related note, this morning I caught a foot long python in my apartment building in Prathumthani. I put in in a container and left to work planning to drop it off in an area where it would have a chance to survive, I drove to the greenest areas nearby and let it go but even there it won't have much of a chance to live without human contact eventually.

The end of the world is nigh. Mmm I’m sue I have heard that one before........

  6. First thing to do is check what rate you pay for power, are you being stiffed by management, has the rate changed if you pay yourself? The TV on standby will consume little power, an LCD TV when used is not a huge consumer of power either so it is the aircon and or fridge / freezers using the most power. Be conscious appliances all add up so many small amounts become large.

    Load of sensationalizing !

There was no "food poisoning" it was a "parasite", that could have been picked up in many places, so to pin it to one specific meal on one specific day, two year earlier is nonsense.(IMHO).

Yes, I always suggest people stop picking their noses, there are all sorts of things growing up in the snoz hole.
