  1. You don't need to explain yourself ll2.

Some people buy their bikes with their head. Like me with my car.

Bikers buy bikes with their hearts.

Both categories are good. Whichever works for you is good. If you choose a mass produced bike for practical reasons then cool. If you're a biker and buy with your heart then cool, too. thumbsup.gif

I sold my Benelli after 6 months as a Thai I know really wanted to buy it and I was considering a Hypermotard. He does rides with a Thai Benelli group and I've never heard anything but good feedback from them. Fun guys, fun bikers. What it's all about. smile.png

  2. A neighbour works off shore and his Thai wife is interested in doing a TEFL course and doing part-time speaking and listening classes in her house with high-school students. She’s pretty much fluent in terms of speaking and listening, but I don’t think she’s studied all the grammar side of things, and probably doesn’t know much about verbs and nouns etc.

I’ve no idea about it. Do TEFL courses take on Thais? Do they need to have a certain TOEIC score or whatever it is? Are there cheap (and nasty :D ) Thai run TEFL or teaching courses for Thais?

  3. I was there, from Cambodian side, in February 2013. The tickets were free but they asked for a "voluntary" donation of an amount of your choise. The main roads were all paved and there were guesthouses in Sra Am town so it was very easy to see this temple from Cambodia.

One can also cross over the border to Cambodia in Surin, then travel the 150km or so to the temple.

  4. I found these articles on viewing Saturn interesting.

"The rings of Saturn should be visible in even the smallest telescope at 25x. A good 3-inch scope at 50x can show them as a separate structure detached on all sides from the ball of the planet. - See more at: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/viewing-saturn-the-planet-rings-and-moons/#sthash.sUMdF7du.dpuf"

  5. We went to a big concert years ago near Khon Kaen. It had to be canceled because of all the fighting. Found out later that every one of the concerts on the tour had to be canceled because of the fighting. Not one concert on the entire tour got to finish. Must have been handy for Bodyslam who were headlining. They only had to play for a few minutes and got paid for the full whack. :D

  6. Wow, great.

Not as expensive as I thought.

This one from your link if 4k baht and mentions highest theoretical magnification as 152x.

But includes eyepieces for only 15x and 30x.

For 9k you get a max of 200x, but only 20x and 40x eyepieces.

200x must be pretty bladdy good.

  7. Danhig: and some people don't understand that there are people who drive bikes not for the passion but because of rational reasons but totally get that other people have different priorities.

    Sure there are.

For them there is the Toyota Camry of the bike World. The CBR650. :)

Same as my Camry, might as well have beige oil in it, but will do 2 million KM between services and only depreciate 10 baht over 30 years.

Some people are bikers, some people use beige bikes for 'rational' reasons. :)
