  1. Doesn't take much to see the moons of Jupiter, nearly anything will do. I even got photos of the moons (4 of them) using my camera with a 600mm lens on it. 48x will start to see the color bands and 100x or greater, the cloud structure of Jupiter.

Great, so 100x and you'd get to see the cloud structure of Jupiter. Great.

With x100 what other bodies in the solar system would you see?

I'll have to check it up later. I guess there is a list out there of what you can see with the different level of er, zoom(?) magnification(?).

  2. And where to buy it in Thailand?

I'm interested in getting a telescope for viewing the nightsky.

I suppose it's best to have an objective.

A good objective is probably to be able to see the moons of jupiter, and possibly the colours and face of Jupiter.

What sort of telescope would be needed to do so? What else in the solar system would one be able to see?

    thanks.

  3. I should add that my main car is a Camry. As boring as one could get. For me motorbiking is about fun, letting loose, treating your wildside. Boring doesn't cut it. Boring design, no thanks. Boring engine that can do 3 million km between services. No thanks. Boring mass produced gunk aimed at 60 year olds and newbies buying their first bigger bike. No thanks.

Benelli, yes please, thank you very much. I would guess that boring people wouldn't understand though.

  4. I might opt for the twin cylinder Ninja. I do think Kawi put together a good bike in the 300N.

Agree. The high RPM twin cylinder 296cc engine is good fun, and a good replacement for the 250. For some reason I found it a bit embarrassing to see Honda's retaliation (boosting their 250 single up to 286cc, then also calling it a '300')

THAT being said, anything under 500cc for sport touring is going to be a hard ride IMO.

Agree again. The 471cc (saai.gif) Hondas just about do okay.

  5. Every time I arrive at Swampy, I jump into a Taxi (back seat) and when I put on my seat belt the taxi driver laughs at me and says to me "you not feel safe mister" I tell them that is the law in my country and I feel safer with my seat belt on. It's not rocket science.

    Don't you mean:

"when I look around and try to find a seat belt, the taxi driver laughs because they have been removed in order to not cause accidents."

As we all know, fastening a seat means that an accident is going to happen.

  6. Believe it or not there are many hotels in Thailand that charge Thais more than Falungs because it's quite common practice for a Thai couple to turn up at the hotel, book a room and then the whole family arrives.

I remember the Royal Orchid Sheraton Bangkok giving special offers for foreign couples only.

This is the (lone) example that the apologists love to give to defend the rampant dual pricing of non-Thais.

I was around Khao San for some odd reason, and looked at some of the trips in the tourist agencies. My Thai GF at the time was there and when I went to book a bus ticket for us we were told NO THAIS. Thais are not allowed on them.

  7. I have a small fish pond in my garden.

    Dimensions 180cm x 90cm x 35cm.

Apparently this equates to: 150 US Gallons. 125 UK Gallons. 567 Liters.

I want powerful water pump to oxygenate it.

I previously had 4 small pumps that cost 100-150b each, tubes going into the water with balls on the end that the bubbles came out of.

In less than a year each of these pumps were dead.

So I think I'd like one big one instead.

Any idea of what size would be good? I haven't the first clue about such things.

    Thanks.

  8. I noticed that they have heat insulation mats (foam mats with the silver reflective covering on one side). About 500b for one or two meters squared I think.

    Has anyone ever done it?

I presume it would just be a case of removing the ceiling of the car, which presumably is just held on with fasteners etc. Then laying it in. Perhaps the door panels too?

Any experiences with it or doing it?
