No one should be allowed to wear flip flops, in the airport or on a plane. That's disgusting the floor is dirty and so is the carpeting and there are liability issues such as stepping on broken glass or something like that. Women seem to wear thong shoes  that have a sole and are made better for walking around. 

If you are detained, which is the same thing as being arrested, you call them and they are duty bound to come to where you are being held and give you a list of lawyers.  You choose one and it's up to you to pay the lawyer. Than it goes from there.

If I was detained because a photo copy of PP and visa was not good enough I would call the American Embassy hot line.

Finally, we have a President who will stand up to that crazed nut Kim Mentally Ill. No one seems to care about missiles being lobbed over Japan and anywhere that nut pleases. Do not trust Smart Bar "authorized Service Provider" at Fortune Town. They juiced my MacBook Air when I came in for a simple question. They claim they were doing a diagnostic. I never asked for that they just plugged something in which ruined everything. I had take it to a I Studio where my friend has a friend who is a manager who cleaned it out, but it's still not the same. I have to wait to go back to New York to get it working right or junking it. Most immigrants in USA work off the books, pay no tax but get free school, medical etc. Falling usually have social security and or pensions support extended families get nothing for free. America is over run. I don't see Syrian immigrants being let in here.

As to the grounds in the coffee question. I get a small amount that quickly settles in the bottom of the cup but it doesn't bother me at all...I just don't tilt back for the last drops.

I told the head FA on Delta, when we left Narita, and she had the captain radio ahead. An agent met me at the gate and walked me thru until I got my baggage. In her bag there was about 100 Premium Passes. I was the only one who got one. Some airlines, like China Air hand them out to everyone in biz. China Eastern, on the other hand, have a crooked ground staff who will only give it out if you raise your voice and stamp your feet. Immigration is in on it. They look at you like a ghost if you have one and they're not expecting a passenger to have it. Like "how did you get that?"

That is good possible (ground staff involved ) as they can make easy money.

Fortunately Emirates and Turkish is not one of them as i never had any problems.

I know they are in on it. The ring leader is the one who sets up the rope lines for the check counters. Every one gets one after check in, at biz. No one gets them getting off the plane.

I think the manufacturers tell the Thai government they need to make a certain amount of profit, from local sales, or they will shut down the manufacturing plants. After the flood, when they lost a bundle, the government gave a tax refund, to buyers, for every new car they bought. The road was full of red plates. Extortion. In USA they bribed everyone to ruin the mass transit systems so people would have to drive to work and such. The automobile industry is very powerful. Ekami and Morchit bus terminals are not busy, except for holidays. People drive everywhere or fly. Only poor and tourists, to Pattaya, take the bus.

I'm in Pattaya now and they have opened space on the beach that is being enjoyed by thousands of tourists. The remaining 'chair area' filled with almost empty chairs still covering half the beach though.

Why do they set up thousands of empty chairs? A small percentage of them are in use. Stop the greedy, unethical games and let the people have their beach back!

Tourists have voted. They don't want the chairs covering the sand.

Give these vendors an inch and they take a mile. Don't let them back. They blew their chance.

-Abusing tourists that won't rent a chair.

-Covering the beach with empty chairs to prevent tourists from using the public space.

-Entering deal with criminals at City Hall that sold them our beach.

-Pushy/inconsiderate vendors pestering tourists trying to relax. Rude and disrespectful. By By!

I am in favour of a chair concession but only set up a chair when requested. That's a win win situation.

And don't make the scenic beach into a shanty town slum again. Haul that gear away at night. The beach is not your personal warehouse...

It's funny to see the folks luxuriating on a beach that was urinated and defecated on all night by humans and thousands of rats.

In other words, the current streets have plenty of foot traffic, which the vendors have completely blocked with their illegal stalls. I bet not one vendor is concerned that all these pedestrians, many of whom probably live or work in the area, cannot use the footpaths for their intended purpose - to walk on.

The only reason anyone would walk there is to buy from the vendors, especially Sunday. People take buses from all over BKK to shop there for good deals. It's a Thai thing and I rarely see a Falang. The dictators want to throw the baby out with the bath water.
