Shooting a dead guy is using excessive force.

If the Aranon was in the Marshall Islands (middle of the Pacific), it's quite a feat to rescue someone in the Atlantic!

I hope the monks responsible are reincarnated as worms to be used as bait.

I was hiking in Arizona with my buddy when he was bitten on the penis by a rattle snake. I looked in my Wilderness Survival Guide under Treatment for Snake Bite - it gave instructions to suck out the venom. When my buddy asked what the book 'said', I replied "It says you're going to die."

I was recently (Jan., Feb.) in Khao Lak and able to extend my 30-day visa exempt entry by an additional 30 days at the 'temporary' Phangnga Immigration Office trailer (Wednesdays 09:00-15:00) in Bang La On in front of Jai Restaurant.
Does anyone know if the same service is available during 'green season'? (I'll be there in July & Aug.)

... but someone suggested installing pedestrian bridges as a solution to an existing problem.
I like the idea of being proactive.
Alternatively, Thais could be taught how to drive properly. Oh wait... you'd have a better chance teaching retarded chimps.

Thailand + motorcycle + high speed + no helmet = not intelligent.

Alternatively to all these suggestions, you could just grow some balls.
My thoughts exactly.

Watch out for all the one-way streets in Vientiane (especially around the Victory Monument). The cops are on the 'lookout' for foreigners (going the wrong way)... will pull you over and try to tell you you have to go to the police station tomorrow... and be fined 400,000 kip. Say "I pay now" and negotiate it down to 200,000.
Usually, if you're not doing anything wrong, they leave you alone and target female Lao nationals for their 'tea money'.

A tropical storm is forecast to arrive in summer? I think it's going to get dark tonight too.

That's taking pigheadedness to a whole new level!

These dogs seem destined for better treatment than some thai people.
Yeah... but that's because the dog won't divorce you and take half of everything once you get it to a first world country.

Just dont go to Koh Samui.
I made that mistake once.

For one, they should change the moronic (11:00 - 14:00 and 17:00 - midnight, 'service' hours) liquor law. I 'forgot' yesterday and went to 7/11 at 10:20 AM. The poor little guy at the till said "Sorry, cannot" and I replied with "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa f***!!!!"

Koh Samui - an island populated mostly by idiots... 'owned' by Bangkok Airways:
- idiot Thais (let's see who can have the loudest, 2-stroke motorcycle on the island by taking the baffles out of the muffler) and drive at 120 kmph the wrong way down a one-way street after dark with no lights on. Cement truck drivers. 150 dB Thai boxing advertising trucks. The list is endless... "Hallllo massage?"
- idiot ex-pat girlie bar owners married to ex-girlies (who are 'different'... LOL), who are too drunk to walk... so they drive.
- idiot European wannabe bikers... who think renting a Harley makes them tough.
- idiot 20-something newlywed tourist couples on scooters who WILL become one with the pavement.
- idiot, Caucasians with dreadlocks who have so many drugs they think they are Black and have been oppressed..
- idiots who get on buses driven by a Thai.
It's kinda like... Hell.

It seems sad Thai PBS doesn't know there's a difference between speed and time.
-
Remember - if you are getting a VOA after a certain time in the afternoon (4:00, 5:00, 6:00?) they add an "overtime" charge to the cost. I arrived early in the evening (around dinner time) across the bridge from Nong Khai with USD $42 (I'm Canadian - price varies by nationality) and plunked it down with my passport, picture & application form. The Immi officer looked at me and said "Fourty-three dollars... one more dollar... overtime".

Sony's genius scam hype - you can't buy 'advertising' like The Interview got because of the 'threat'... and cancellation... and reinstatement! Of course the movie will suck - it stars Seth Rogen. Ever see Neighbors? (what a waste of bandwidth that was to download)

Interesting to see the guy on the platform merrily enjoying himself while a family man lies sliced in half nearby... Thainess?
So you're not allowed to smile within 50m of a body?

Koh Tao - quickly becoming the Island of Death.
You beat me to it.
Poor woman - RIP.

I hope the locals don't go to the mall, see the 'snow'... and go home to get drunk & eat poisonous animals.

Fined 100 baht for what... being on a public beach? How can they do that?

On the Destination Forums, there's form of censorship wielded if a handful of people (members with vested interests) click on 'Report Post' (for any reason). The post/thread gets deleted automatically because it hasn't painted a picture of all being: 'butterflies, waterfalls, rainbows & unicorns'... even though the post complies with the guidelines. Other posts, not in in compliance with the guidelines are allowed to stand.
TripAdvisor never communicates - one is never told why posts/threads mysteriously 'disappear'. Likewise, the reason(s) for rejection of a submission for a new listing of a business in order to write a review.
Take everything you read on TA with a huge chunk of sodium chloride.
sorry but you are wrong
when you report a post being inappropriate , its usually because its not supposed to be there
for many reasons [its on the drop down box when you select it ]
and they are checked before action is taken
so you cant just get it deleted because you dont like it
if you read terms and conditions you may find that tripadvisor states that they can remove whatever they want and they dont have to tell you why
ive reported many many inappropriate posts on tripadvisor
most have been removed , but some not...
Your last statement lends credence to what I was told - posts are deleted automatically if a certain number (2, 3, 4, 5?) of people 'report it'. If inappropriate post reports were checked by a human, it would only take one to show the post is 'in breach' (assuming it's true) and be deleted.
Ultimately, yes - they can remove whatever they want... and they don't have to follow their own guidelines.
Money talks.
Primary school bans kids from watching solar eclipse for ‘cultural and religious’ reasons

So... the parents should pull their kids out of school to watch the eclipse (and tell the school they're being idiots).
