Anyone else disturbed by that big bubble at the tip of the syringe in the photo?
Injection is made in tissue, not a blood vessel, so I wouldn't worry too much.

So, Sinovac it is. As the experts keep telling us, any vac is better than none. The risk to your well-being from the disease is far far far greater than the risk to your well-being from any vac.
Thank you benevolent Chinese Communist Party guvamint. We look forward to doing more business in the future.
I think it is down to some back alley vaccine shot at Soi Cowboy; "Hey, Farang, you! you! have vaccine China, vely good! you take! 10,000 Baht!".

The precise wording on the title of the document is not usually a matter for concern. The Labour Court looks at all of the facts in the round, and they will not dismiss a case over the use of a word in this way. If they did this then all employers would have to do is write bad contracts and then they could never be held to account.
The Labour Court is used to dealing with people from quite disadvantaged backgrounds who are taking action against employers who come from a different background.
Agree completely, the wording "contract" has no meaning, but the text in the document has meaning, for example if it states working for a limited time on a specific project, then it is a time limited contract.
-
Does it say "Contract" in the document? According the Thai Labor Protection act, A limited time employment contract can only be done for a very specific time limited project, which has a specific ending time. For all other cases, an "Employment agreement" is made, for which a time limit cannot be set. If there is a time limit and the job involves everyday routine activities such as general management, consulting etc. and not a specific project, that time limit has no meaning and no validity.
For the payments, I think you are in a grey zone legally, by accepting the salary payed for so long, it may be understood that you accepted the payments. You need some documented proof that you have complained or asked about the problem as soon as probation was over.

Pool at condo here in Jomtien opened yesterday. I dove right in. Open today too. Will be diving in after coffee. Don't know if they got the wrong memo or what...but it's all right by me!
Of course it's ridiculous that swimming pools were ever closed to begin with. Amazing Thailand never ceases to amaze with vague and random dimwittedness.
Apparently the Corona virus can survive for days in water. Not sure about chlorinated water though..

Oh dear, you missed so much.
You don't know that a Juristic Person (with capital "J" and "P") is not a person, do you? It's a legal entity, an "it", and the Juristic Person's responsibility is not to "represent the condo owners". The JP entity is designed specifically to maintain and keep up a condominium complex for the purpose of providing the various property holders within that complex with certain things like common area maintenance, garage parking maintenance, pool maintenance etc.
Oh! I am so mistaken then, to erroneously believe that the Committee that is elected in the annual AGM for a two year term to represent the condominiums interests should act in the interest of the co-owners in any matter .

Very simple really, the government has in its wisdom decided to separate the prison cases and community cases, it would take a blind person to say there was not exponential growth going on there.
I love these TV fights, very entertaining, I'm preparing the popcorn..... this is for the long haul, better make a lot:)

I guess the logic would be, If I get the money locally, and the requirement is that the money must come from abroad, Then I would have to send it abroad and then bring it back. Then why bother enforcing that rule. But knowing the land office (and Thai bureaucracy in general) they would never ever bypass a rule because it makes sense.

A condo Manager is the representative of the Juristic Person, not the rep of the owners.
Yes, and the Juristic person represents the condominium, including all the owners, what is the fine point that i missed?

Some years ago, I visited the Land Department at CW (Bangkok) to make inquiries on this matter. Only foreigners who have "Permanent Resident" (PR) in Thailand are allowed to buy a condo in Thailand "Without Making A Bank Transfer From Abroad". BTW, are you a PR ? If not, I am very much surprised how you could get the "Chanote". Please take note. Khap Phom.
Not a PR. Most of the time the Land office are clueless about the actual rules and have a personnel turnover not allowing on the job training. There is no actual interest in reading any regulations. A rule can be followed in one land office and not so in another office. I just wanted to see an actual text stating that the funds must come from abroad, like an Act, such as the Land development act or the Condominium act or a ministerial directive, not som verbal communication from some official.

I would go on Amazon, Lazada or Bangood and look for something, for example drone engines or frames, then 5 minutes later when I check my Facebook, it is flooded with ads and other stuff about just that, what I searched for. I'm just tired of it all, using FB less and less, because I realize it has no benefits for me at all. I have always been immune to ads, even back in the days of newspapers, I would consciously ignore every single ad, they are just blacked out in my mind, I see or hear an ad, my mind goes automatically blank. If I want something, I search and find it, and then I buy it.

Most Condos, if not all, do not allow pets. Feeding stray animals may be construed as you having them as pets, because feeding them will make them keep coming back for more food. Legally the Manager and you are in a grey zone.
There is nothing the manager can do to you as a punishment. For example he/she can forbid you from using common property such as the swimming pool or the corridors, parking area, but this is not enforceable, as this would involve physical intervention, which is illegal under civil law. Anyway feeding stray animals is not in practice preventable by the Condo management. A Condo is a community of co-owners who collectively have agreed on a set of rules to follow. When a co-owner buys a unit, he/she agrees to these set of rules. The manager is there as a representative of the collective co-owners, meaning he is there for you too, you pay him to enforce the rules of the condo. Still, complaining about feeding stray cats is a bit over the top in my opinion. There must be more important things for the manager to be concerned about:)

Great. But Australia has just secured an order for 25 million doses. Expected delivery? End of 2021 and into 2022. Thailand meanwhile hasn't even secured an order so the chances of it being here anytime this year are zero.

Wow! After all western countries has approved this vaccine for months already:) Anyway Thailand will make their own vaccine, as we all have heard. And anyway, a bit of ginger cures Covid anyways.

What documents did you show? Tax returns? Nothing?
Was this Bangkok?
Do you have anyone to contact on this? Using local savings from employment. Thanks
Only doc. I had to show was the work permit. Developer handled it all, I had no interaction with the land office myself, I paid the money to the developer and got the chanote from developer, never visited the land office myself. This was in Sattahip in about 2010. Maybe rules have changed since.

The Condo Act has nothing to do with the buying/selling a condo.
The main issue is this.
The "Land Department" is the main issue.
Meaning if you can't prove that the full amount for the condo comes from your
home country, then the Land Department won't issue you the Title Deed (chanote)".
The oversea bank transfer to buy the condo must be in your name and must state
the name and unit of the condo -as stated in your Sales & Purchase Agreement (S &P).
The "Land Dept" and the "Title Deed (chanote) is the main issue. Please take note.
And where is the Thai Law stating this? As a side note; I bought my condo with locally earned money. I have the chanote.
-
Do anyone know where this requirement about funds originating from abroad comes from? There is nothing in the condominium act about this, so where in the Thai Law does it come from?

I got a FedeX from the US right on time few weeks ago, and then after I received it, I got an e-mail from FedeX saying that my address is incomplete so they can't deliver it, need to correct the address.
I think they have a problem with the tracking system, delivery works fine but tracking doesn't. Same happened with a package from china, It was delivered to me, and then I checked the tracking site and it said it was still in custom clearance in China:)
One time I ordered something from Lasada that, according the tracking site, kept moving between a collection center in Prachuap Kiri Kan and Bangkok for a week, and then I received it at my home, far from where it supposedly was jumping back and forth:)

I am sorry to hear this....It sounds like you work with people who have some unreasonable fear issues....
Fear from Covid maybe? Anyway these are measures enforced by the company. We have spread out departments over physically separated offices, for example an operations department will be spread out over 5 different offices, each office with a different color code. If a person in that color code gets tested positive, everyone in that color code is quarantined, that way, there will still be people in the department able to work who have another color code. We have changed from finger scan check-in to face recognition check-in. Temp check at arrival in the morning and mandatory hand sanitizing. No physical meetings, all meetings over Zoom, even when office is just next door. We are not allowed to physically visit another color code area without special (difficult) permission from safety department. Nobody from outside allowed in. This is our routine since March 2020.

This being Thailand, of course, whatever vaccines are being distributed from the Central Govt. to local authorities, will of course secretly be given to local Govt. employees first, top down, starting with Governors and trickling down to finally get to the Police. Military brass would surely already gotten their shots months ago, again, top down. I know for sure about local Abata employees already scheduled for their shots.
