I would guess around 30K baht would be enough for everything incl. insurance.
And don't listen to the miserable bastards on this forum about their "worry or care" for your children related to moving to Thailand nor homeschooling, they are just full of faeces. -
cops can do anything they want. they are above the law because they are the law. i have had some limited dealings with them over a work permit issue. i now pay a small monthly donation. not sure if it achieves anything but hope it means i wont be locked up in their cells again.
Too many Judge Dredd comics.

To me it's just a really bizarre bit of behaviour - i very much doubt if the OP would ever do anything like this a t home...it's just a "white superiority" thing.
I assume your ridiculous posts are tongue in cheek. If not feel sorry for you.
It's not "tongue in check", he really is that special kind of stupid.

I was thinking about helping, wasting 20 mins of my life which I'll never get back, but have decided against it....
Moronic posters and an OP who wouldn't know good advice for the life of him...
So you just felt like including yourself in the first part of your second sentence?
-
Do you need further advice or have you wasted everyone's time enough?
Op, this one needs closing
It's going nowhere fast
The op has more than enough info to write a report on this one!
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You are wasting everyones time as you don't even seem to be able to hold one thought in your head without imagining a "truth" in your head and at the same time miss that i am the OP.
So please, do me a favour and stop posting in this thread and it will surely get somewhere.

I wasn't in special forces but as stated RN.
What is your relationship to this person?
Tell us, please.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My realtionship to this person has no relevance to the question.
Is this person living in Thailand?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No.
-
If the person is not registered in Thailand with an ID card, or in a blue book, He/she does not exist if he has another nationality passport they will class him as a citysen from that Country, However if he wants to be Thai, He can go to the Area of where he was born ,If known and ask around to see if anyone remembers his family, If they do they can go to the Local Amphur and vouch for him. Then he can get an ID card and go from there, But If he is a duel National, Thai and whatever he will have to do national Service, If he does not then he maybe arrested on entry into Thailand .
This person has dual citizenship. What are you talking about?

When some one has two passports , from diffrent Country's, The person in Question on this post ids not registered as a Thai although born there,
Yes he is as he has thai passport, tabien baan and ID card.

Thopon you are 100%
Pay someone else, and people say my post was stupid.
Tell the boy to man up & see if he's selected, if so, go & serve your country as you want the passport but don't want to give anything back
People like the op's make me sick
They're takers but when it comes to the less glamorous things they think bribery or other ways is acceptable. Disgusts me.
Before anyone starts on me I volunteered in the Royal Navy at 17 & served 22 yrs.

Good for you that you VOLUNTEERED.
And did you miss the part that he doesn't have an issue with "doing his part voluntarily in the EU country", he has actually mentioned it several times to me about volunteering... what he does object to is the "doing his part in a shitty backwards redneck corrupt third world nations armed forces".
But he wants to keep his passport for this, as you say 'shitty backwards redneck third world nation'???
Why would that be?
Your argument is totally flawed!!!
Re read what you've said and see if it's credible
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
How convinient of you to leave out the "armed forces" part. Don't know about you but i bet most people do not like corporal punishment and other shit that goes on in the Thai armed forces.

Better to relinquish Thai nationality & be the EU
No point in having Thai passport anyway if you have passport & citizenship from EU country
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's even worse advice than the "don't get ID or tabien baan".
-
If a person has two citizenships (EU country and Thailand) and decide to do the voluntary military service (like 4? months) in the EU country can that person then entirely avoid/skip the draft in Thailand? This person is in the tabien baan as he was born in Thailand and does have an valid ID card and thai passport so the advice, the very bad one, of not getting ID yadda yadda wouldn't work. The person does speak thai but can barely read and write in Thai but is fluent in his second language and english.

POOR people dont buy Coke and if they do they arent poor, many of the "poor" arent really, just substitute " poor" for "bone idle"
Coke and Pepsi are the cheapest drinks available in Thailand at around 20bht/l.
If they aren't for the poor, then who are they for?
Wiiiiilllddddddd quess... for anyone who like to drink them?
-
Am I right in thinking that one has to show prof that one has relinquished you former citizenship before obtaining Thai citizenship? And if so why would anyone wish to do this as it would create many problems when you want to travel abroad?
Maybe you would loose your pension and free medical care if your country has any, I know a Denmark man who has thai citizenship many years and he needs visa to go to Denmark.
If i were you i would tell my danish friend that he have until 21th august 2020[1] to get back his danish citizenship[2] and also, to my knowledge, keep his thai citizenship. They made this possible in Denmark just a few months ago.

Not only can you have dual citizenship... my children have three citizenships without an issue (swedish, finnish and thai).
Furthermore, only way to lose your swedish citizenship is if you (the citizen) actually sign a form designed specifically for that and send it in. So it doesn't matter who sends or calls any swedish embassy anywhere in the world.

We get Fox it is a notch down from BBC for reliability. Just believe every tenth post on it and you will get the same quality you had on BBC.
Hilarious that you believe BBC let alone any mainstream media.

This is justice porn at its best. A+++
Road rage driver in his rice rocket is rammed off the road by what appears to be much larger vehicle. Then he's named and shamed and loses his job.
It's like a real-life version of this commercial:
So they want to teach you to stop for cars coming out of their drive way which even has a white lane that is not "dotted" (don't know the term in english)... but then again, this is Thailand and well... yeah....
-
Surely it's not that hard to understand that a bomb killing 1 in Stockholm is far far far more "important" to write about in swedish media than a bomb killing 1 in Nakhon whatever in southern Thailand?

There is a very good reason to why there is a distinction between "modern/western medicine" and "everything else".
People can believe what they want but believing things like "avoiding certain people" will do you any good or bad is just plain ignorant. And i use ignorant lightly as stronger words aren't allowed on this forum.
There is no such thing as "western medicine" - there are only 2 kinds of medicine - the type that works and the type that doesn't.
Any medicine has to be shown to work - this is usually by peer reviewed trials. Good old fashioned evidence...... Science-based medicine.
Can the "other" type be harmful? Yes, of course it can....... if people avoid efficacious treatment of a problem in favour of "traditional" or superstition-based treatment it is quite possible they will find their condition worsens or even becomes fatal.
Maybe you should have a grasp of what is meant by "western medicine"[1] before you go on your SJW crusade?

The arrogance of thinking you're so interesting and enigmatic that Thais should be falling over themselves to find out more about you is breathtaking.
It's just one more example of the neo-colonial self-importance that afflicts far too many foreigners here - most of whom can be easily described with one word . . . UNREMARKABLE
You're not pioneers, explorers or men of vision in khakis roaming the new frontier bringing civilization to the "barbarians"
You're economic migrants and sex refugees and, with the proliferation of the internet and social media, the Thais KNOW it
I doubt anyone is thinking they are in anyway special or important.
But i do know that most thais know jackshit about the world.
-
Nope. Thais aren't exactly known for wanting to know or understand anything outside Thailand.
-
In fairness if you've got bars on your windows for security purposes or not, thieves who are desperate enough will come tooled up to enter no matter what your security measure are.
Window bars aren't that difficult to remove if you know how.
.
There is quick access to get into the vast majority of Thai houses.
Old lady in Rhek Thum died some time ago. Lived alone. Bars on windows, numerous bolts on doors. From the eaves down, a fortress.
When the neighbors wanted to retrieve her body, it was easy. They got on the roof, and in just seconds removed a few tiles, and lowered themselves into the living room.
Every Thai knows about this.
Your bars mean zip.
Nonsense. Never happened.
Of course it didn't, that would be impossible as it would say that it's quite possible to get into any house if you know what you are doing which in turn is impossible because you have a fortress.
