If it is a 4 star facility and 50 years old, it will no doubt be due for renovation. I see this as blaming the virus as an excuse to make the staff redundant while they lavish millions on renovation.

Hotels do not operate for 50 years without renovations, normally its every 7-10 years, mdepnds on the occupancy and guest traffic.I think they will close down long term, the renovations are going to start slow and take forever, and with the payroll eliminated, they can sit it out.

Who cares what they say. Its a two way street. Look at all the negative/ condescending comments about Thais by foreigners around here.

This is an act of blatant racism for which any health minister would be relieved of his duties. Its not only farang but also Singaporeans, Burmese, Cambodians, Indonesians, Filipinos, Vietnamese etc not wearing masks. Are they not also humans carrying the same risks, if indeed not much more risk because of their eating and drinking habits as they tend to share food dishes and even cups and glasses.  The WHO has clearly stated that no masks are needed when in the open air, or in uncrowded venues, and just recommend washing your hands more often, since we tend to use them to scratch and put food in our mouths. . The paper masks he was dispensing are deemed useless, since the virus can enter via the sides. I do believe that people should wear proper masks when visiting hospitals, clinics etc. I personally stay away fom crowds like in malls, cultural activities, concerts and have postponed all unnecessary travel by public transportation at the expense of my business, pleasure  -private and otherwise- . I was here during Sars, and the avian flu outbreaks too, and did exactly the same thing. Anyway, I know there will be those who disagree on this forum, but this is just how I deal with the situation. Goodnight, goodluck and stay healthy !

I agree with most of your post but i don't understand your bit in bold? The Committee is a different role and different legal position than the Juristic Person Manager. If the Committee all resigns you have no Committee, you still have a Juristic Person Manager. Your Juristic Person Manager and all Committee members but you are still a Condominium Juristic person, albeit an extremely rudderless one. The only way to dissolve a Juristic Condominium is via 100% unanimous vote by all Co-owners, which would be next to impossible in probably 99.999% of Condominiums.

Rudderless and operating illegally if no committee exists.

Nonsense. Its between 3-9 inclusive, no rule about it being an even number. Logic suggests that it is best to be an odd number for obvious reasons but there is no law saying it cannot be 4-6-8. This is the exact reason why Condo's end up in conflict, when people spout with surety on subjects they clearly are not knowledgeable. Can you point out which law states this? I presume you know given your sureness of reply.

Read the condominium act, revised. Not the old, first version..

We have 6 members in our committee and they have been there for at least 8 years without interruption. How can this legally be? I know the regulation that you described. But is there a legal way to avoid it? The members of our committee all do business in our condominium complex and so they are very interested to keep the control. They rent out rooms.

They need to stand down after 2 years. If no one else is a candidate they may be re-elected by the other owners during the AGM. There should be 3,5,7 or 9 max. No even numbers.

Their are 195 countries in the world....4 have said no more letters.....Sense no embassy can 100% guarantee income from all their citizens that means they would ALL have to stop issuing the letter..... 191 embassies who after a few months now have said nothing......Yes some more embassies I am sure will say no more letters but that will still leave a shit ton of embassies who will continue to issue them.....Some thing stinks about this whole thing....

Thailand does not host 195 countries' diplomatic missions.

Under the old rules it was possible to have more than one job shown in a work permit with the employer's permission that sponsored the work permit.

Under the new rules a work permit allows multiple jobs to be done with a work permit. In fact the employers name is not shown in the work permit. Only the name of person who was issued the work permit is shown.

Following the Phuket employment chief's announcement that a WP can now be used to work anywhere and for anyone, I wonder if an official announcement was ever made from Bangkok ? Thanks.

Unless the resort reports your stay and your local immigration office goes into the database where the reports are kept they would never know you stayed someplace else. Only the most pedant offices bother checking it.

What office do your report to?

    Good afternoon,

I am on a non B with yearly extension. If I go for a weekend to another province and stay in a hotel under my own name, do I have to report myself to Phuket imm upon return ?

Hello , can you please elaborate what kind of documents put you over the line and thanks again for all your help in a very professional way...

Any documents that order work, or approving expenses etc  ! You may never get into trouble, but if there's just one snitch with a dislike for you...It has happened, but not often...
