  1. Hi AustralianVisa,

Thanks for your quick reply and advice. The fact that a one off deposit may raise a red flag is my thought exactly and I do not want to arouse any suspicions.

There never has been a need to provide her with funds, but if the need arises, yes a bank transfer would help to provide evidence of an ongoing relationship

I am undecided as to whether to apply electronically or via VFS.Global. I have a lot of relationship supporting documents such as hotel and apartment receipts over the past three years I have known her. These would all have to be scanned if applying electronically. If I choose to apply through VFS.Global,I presume all documents will be returned?

  2. Can anyone help with some advice please.

My girlfriend is in the process of applying for a tourist visa to visit Australia for three weeks. She is employed and has been with the same company for fourteen years. She has two bank accounts. One into which her salary is deposited and one with another bank containing her limited savings. I am supporting her application and will support her financially during her visit.

She has been talking to her friend at work who has also visited Australia and has told my girlfriend that she must have a sum of money in her savings account. She is therefore, insisting that I make a one off transfer of funds into her bank account.

From what I have read, It seems this is unnecessary. Should I choose to do so and it would be only 30,000 Baht, should I mention this in my letter of support or not?

Should she provide copies of both both bank books or just the one savings account passbook?

    Thanks for any help.

  3. Hi,

Next week, I will be applying for my first extension of stay based on retirement. I have a couple of questions regarding this.

What are the requirements for obtaining a statutory declaration or statement of income from the Australian Embassy? Will copies of bank statements, pension card be necessary?

I understand I will need to show a copy of my rental agreement and owners book and ID. Is this correct? Is there also a requirement for the owner to report that a foreigner is living at the premises? If so, to whom?

Thanks for your replies in advance and a happy new year to all.

  4. It would of course be far more convenient to obtain a visa at the local Consulate. I have peeled off an old Cambodian visa which was very loosely stuck in my passport to make a blank page in the hope that a new Thai visa will take it's place. But there is a faint glue mark and the Consulate may be reluctant to paste a new visa in it's place in the same way that they will not place a visa in a page that even has only one stamp.

  5. You will need 800k baht in the bank on the date you apply or proof of 65k baht income or a combination of the 2 totaling 800k baht.

You will need 15 days remaining on your entry when apply.

Ok. As it is my intention to apply for an extension based on retirement, perhaps I could do this at the same time.

Do you know if I could first extend the visa exempt then apply for the Non Immigrant O visa?

  6. I am an Australian resident on a British passport currently staying in Thailand. I am returning to Australia on the 25th November and I need to be back in Thailand by the 26th January.

My passport has no blank pages. I had intended to apply for a new one on my return, but I have recently learnt that all passport processing is now done in the UK and there is a large backlog of applications resulting in considerable delays. As I have only 9 weeks in Australia after I return, I cannot take the risk of having my passport application delayed.

My only hope is to return to Thailand on a visa exempt and either extend for a further 30 days or convert to a Non Immigrant O which is my preferred option.

Can anyone tell me if the Non immigrant O visa requires a full blank page similar to a tourist visa. I do have two pages that are almost blank with only two stamps at the top of the page.

I would be grateful for any advice.
