It's hard to disagree with much said above.  When my stepdaughter was 8 or 9 in public school she had an English class.  On one occasion I had not seen her homework before she submitted it to her teacher.  When the paper was returned it had 9 check marks and one 'X'.  She had been given 10 sentences with 10 jumbled up words for her to put in the proper English order.  As I reviewed her results, at best I would have graded her with 8 'X's and 2 check marks.  Teacher just justifying her position?  Luckily, she has done better in subsequent years thanks in part to a more advanced school in Pattaya.  An aptitude test for her entry in that school resulted in one of her classes being the use of AutoCad (3D version) for computer aided design.  She completed the design drawings of various example projects that once completed, she actually went on to make the product in the school's machine shops.  Today she is in a Bachelor's program for Business Management/Administration at a university in Bangkok.  She is a young lady now, well-disciplined, polite and with basically good English skills.  She should/could become a valued employee in anything she does.  However, the family is in the fruit business growing durian, rambutan and other fruits and seem to be pushing her in that direction having just purchased 20 Rai of farmland near Chantaburi for her.  The family has done extremely well with their farming business, but farming is a hard way of life with long days, hard physical work and the results can be severely impacted by weather, climate change and even political issues.  My thoughts as a foreigner are that she should be the one deciding on and planning for her future.  Although the family has done very well, there are no guarantees she would achieve the same success in today's world.

As i said in a previous comment,  They all get a pass mark.  So, The teacher who gave her the marks is told to do that.   It's a ludicrous policy.  Third world behaviour.

I don't pretend to be proud of it, there is a whole row of shops selling kids junk, the food she chose was the only one left that the kids would buy, I don't think tofu burgers would go down very well, if she didn't sell it then others would. Up to her anyway it's her shop.

As i said everyone has go to make money one way or the other but it come across as if you was proud of it but i obviously misconstrued your comment.

  3. Everyone seems to be focusing on the critical thinking and not be able to question the teachers.   Were as I think the most absurd, ridiculous issue in Thai schools is all students will get a pass mark.  That will make so many students lazy and it will also have Thai students thinking that you can go through life without failing at anything.  When failing is part of life unfortunately.

  4. Most people will use GRAB or BOLT  now and they only have themselves to blame.  Not only are the apps a lot cheaper but also when you book with an app,  When the driver gets there he/she knows where they gotta go.  You get a taxi driver off the street they haven't got a clue where anywhere is.  they gotta be the world's worst taxi drivers for never knowing any places.   Unless it's within a couple of mins of where they're parked up. And with GPS and google it couldn't it be any easier.  I do think a lot of these drivers can't read or write.

You must have been unlucky, I have used them a lot over my 15 years here in Thailand and never had any problem except one or two time they were out of service (Empty on cash?)

Not more faulty than Other ATM's IMHO, but SCB Card less withdraw is the worst, have to enter your phone number and a 10 digit code sent to your app etc... take forever to take our cash (Unless they have updated last 6 months), BBL and K-Bank, prepare before approaching the ATM so app is ready to scan, Choose Card-less ATM, Choose Bank, scan QR, money come out, take seconds.

I've not been unlucky i think you've just been lucky more like.  lots of people i know say exactly the same thing.

I remember that a few years back, a similar altercation ended in the foreigner dying, the heel having punched through the skull.

This would be indeed an attack with a potential deadly weapon. I wonder if we will read more about it, as indentity of the katoey must be clear to police.

🤔  I don't ever remember hearing that.  Sounds viable I suppose but I'm sure i would have remembered it

Wow,if that would be a legal excuse Half of Thailand would be in the hospital and the other half in the temple!

A bit over the top of course but i mean there would be a lot of fights!

One of our neighbours likes to rev his loud bike at all hours of the night!

Am i going to complain? No way!He also empties his gun in the air when he is really drunk or high.

No way was it about just the noise of a motorbike.  whoever said that is having a massive laugh and to then report what they said is just as laughable.

90 day address reporting is required when you remain in Thailand for 90 consecutive days.  If you leave Thailand, the 90 day clock starts anew when you return to Thailand with the entry day being day 1 of the count.  It has nothing to do with the type of  Visa you may be using.

Yes i know but what I'm talking about is doing it in person. They say if you have left the country you have to do it in person and can't do it online.  But does that mean left the country while on the current visa or not?  As I'm trying to figure out if that's why my online application got rejected.  As I have left the country but not while on my current visa.

The Pattaya City Expats Club has just posted this on their "latest Immigration information" webpage:

It also included a sign posted at Pattaya Immigration 90 day address reporting desk:

But when they say leave the country do they mean when on the current NONB or just in general?  As i have left the country but not while on my current NONB.  It isn't very clear really
