Or tweezers and nail clippers. Nothing to it.
  2. Scammers in Cambodia can not be allowed to continue. All bank accounts in Thailand must be closed. It's for your own good....
  3. I gotta echo what couple others have noted: My experience is the Mom sets the standard. If she is respected and her family is respected no child or farang husband will ever have an issue. How they see Mom is how they will see Dad and the kids. But, as with all things: YMMV
  4. OP one point of order: I have lived overseas 20+ years. I can attest you can validate new credit cards, both Visa & Master Card outside the USA. It says on the little decal on card to validate by calling from number on your account, but any US number will work just fine. I used Skype to do this for many years. Now use Voip.ms. As with all things YMMV. Have a great day.
  5. I am just an average guy in the street. When I think of safe, profitable long term investment for my capitol, Thailand is not the first location that comes to mind. As matter of fact, it is pretty low on the list. Until they over come that perception this is not going to be the good result they are hoping for.
  6. Voip.ms You can keep your number {or you could have} or select any the have available. 0.85 USD per month to have the number. All calls to US numbers less than .01 USD per minute. Works exactly like skype. Load 20 bucks into your account and it let's you know when it gets low to refill. Using since April and wish I had found it years ago. YMMV
  7. Guys, I have to confess, was in same position as OP once several years back. Got new passport and transferred all stamps at immigration, for a nominal fee of course. Don't remember how much but did pay something. So it is not unheard of. With all things in LOS, as always YMMV
  8. You know what? Just occurred to me the adventure and experience of traversing the intricacies of this incredibly complicated and simple country may be part of the attraction. Every day is like a box of chocolates, you never know what is going to happen. And on your previous comment, it would be good news indeed if the pink ID doesn't expire after 60. Mine is up for renew December of next year so I will learn for sure.
  9. That would have been my next option. But never had opportunity or need to try. And to Add: I have filled True Wallet with both my Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn app. I find True Wallet icon in Kasikorn app. As with all things: YMMV
  10. Amen, brother. Nothing is easy nor simple. I have been registered with True Wallet for several years. It was a challenge but I persevered to over come. What worked for me is use driver license for the ID instead of passport. I tried passport several times to no avail, but had finally had inspiration to try DL and it worked like a champ. Got confirmation in about a day. More recently, my DL expired this past May. I received a message, maybe 3 months out, my ID registered with True Wallet would expire soon. Sure enough, on my birthday I was locked out of True Wallet. Renewed license the following week, uploaded new license and glory be! I was again back in business. So, it will work for farang. Just gotta work out the wrinkles.
