Perhaps loss of licence and a 100k fine may help curtail this type of disgusting attitude

Thai Democracy = Democracy at gunpoint or if you are lucky a 15 year jail term.
-
Yes it illegal but who cares define "Legal" in Thailand anyway as the elite make up their own rules so if you can safely run your life the way you want to just do it

thats right, they make up the law as they go and judges were asking for bribes so where is their integrity? they have none except a big chip on their shoulder and should end this barbaric act and all the palava around it and get on with running their country.
I know they are guilty, and the law is the law, but can't help but feel sorry for those 2 Aussies especially considering the Bali bombing mastermind is now free after a couple years jail. Its pathetic.

Not the most responsive bunch are they the RTP no wonder people take the law into their own hands.

Even if we were allowed to own land who the hell would want to? What is to say that say after 5 years of settling in with your life savings invested some Thai starts to knock on your door asking for money saying the land is his and the title is illegitimate? Go to court, fees, corruption, perhaps a visit at 3 am to "Fix things". Until the root causes are fixed (Total corruption), stay safe and RENT, its cheap enough and the best thing is you can "Flee the scene" if there are any major problems as your cash is not invested.

I thought with all that dope the Dutch were quite mild mannered until...... they get to Pattaya

Why would he want to go to a civilized country when he is such an ultra right wing fundamentalist who does not welcome foreigners? I am glad he is banned, banned from Australia too and hopefully the rest of the world until that country starts to act like an adult rather than a petulant child.

I can never understand the human mind.

Long live Eric Clapton. I will stand up for him any-time because he is someone who has actually achieved something phenomenal and people genuinely respect him.

"billion-dollar mission" and with US style health care if you need a finger re attached that's $50k thanks. Sending rockets into space is more important than people.

Seems Australia is "Racist and Cruel" when they do not accept refugees. But when Thailand makes it clear they don't give a rats about anyone except themselves, then that's fine apparently.

Yes yes Singapore is a great airport just don't let any a hole plant drugs on you otherwise you will be hanging off a noose Singapore Style (Lah)!

I am not sure but I may have lost my taste buds. When I make a Thai red curry, I put in no less than 15 whole chillies (Dish lasts two days and I do let it simmer for a good hour to let the full flavour set in), sometimes I seed them other times don't bother, and then cut the ends off. I find this spicy but definitely palatable and do not need a long excruciating time to finish a meal. I think its best to be "Honest" and chop up the chilli, probably better to seed it, of course then wash it and you have true taste rather than "Surprises" if you happen to bite into one of the whole chillies. In any case, I think life is not worth living without chillies, fish sauce, ginger, garlic, co-co nut milk, rice, beer and a damn good screw.

When I taught I was thinking of doing a TEFL I have a degree anyway but I thought to get an extra qualification. They wanted something like $40k and I thought for what? One of the guys co-teaching with me didn't have a degree but had TEFL did not have any better ideas than me when it came to lesson planning so I thought what a complete waste of f'ing money and that goes for CELTA and all those other BS quals. I did quite fine thank you, school liked me and also part time work. Honestly I don't think you even need an education degree. I think the minimum should just be a university degree and a willingness to make a difference and be innovative and I will tell this to any school I go to if I decide to do this gig again. I really miss Thailand sometimes but the thought of living under a military dictatorship is not appealing.

Is this day one of a new world? They seem to be hitting the reset button with a new rule every day. How about some laws? and heavy penalties for non compliance? So example taxi does not pick up, police don't issue fine instead take bribe, bad service continues and consolidated revenue takes a hit. The t shirt vendor on their hands and knees to the other vendor not to copy their shirt, how about some laws where you can sue for this? - Are they at the stone age here. What will tomorrow be, "Don't pee in the street use a toilet"?

Oh Oh... the elite wont like this because in the "Happiness State" Thais are always right (In their own minds)

I think a lot of people don't realize there is no Ctrl Z available when you take this option. I don't believe there is anything worth taking your own life for you can always start again or find some new hope you just have to keep going and try and stay positive. RIP to the poor man.

If only he had just walked away and forgot it. Anything to do with nightclubs is trouble as many are owned by criminals and staff are the same.

For a short term person or starting up this may be ok but if you want to stay in LOS long term, you gotta learn the lingo and not rely on someone at the end of the phone.

They are getting a bad rap and bad service is rife. I know that legally they had no obligation but when I cancelled my flight from Surabaya just after this tragic event and went from Jakarta instead, explained that I was scared to fly from Surabaya with all the commotion and really a "city of death"; I just got the standard response absolutely no empathy shown whatsoever. I'll show the same when I take my next trip.

Fond memories of the place. TGF at the time had some land up there and we stayed at a lovely resort. I even remember the cost of a hotel room in town at 308 baht? and also had their speciality "Gai Manao" - So much nicer in the provinces.

Boot on the other foot. How does it feel Thais when you just cant do what you like just like your elite does to you and you have to leave your country for a better life? Except in Japan and other civilized countries its all within the law, no bribes and all above board. Don't you get sick of living hand to mouth, living in repression? Don't you want better lives in your OWN country? then get off your arse and bloody do something about it!!!!

Replace "Ban" with something else and that goes the same for all that support him.

I will be heading to the Philippines for next trip. Food is not the best but people are very polite unlike Thais and its quite cheap there and the women are gorgeous. Looks like the "Happiness State" can count on losing my 5000 quid this year.
