  1. I dont have any kids going to school here but I like knowing what day it is by what the kids are wearing as they pass me on my daily walks and my niece told me only today that it had been Thai language day recently at her school.
  2. I have just come back from a driving trip to Bangkok(I have always gone by train previously), I was to say the least a little worried. I found it quite easy, yes there were bikes zipping in and out and cars that slowed suddenly and you could tell they had just got a phone call, but in all it wasnt that that bad. When I got back I noticed just how much more dangerous it was around our small town, with most not knowing how to drive and not caring about anyone but themselves. Im sorry for the young one who was killed but it will only get worse as more cars get on the road, it is nice to say the police should do something, I have always said they need to be mobile, but no one will pay for them to be mobile.
  3. This is why the military cant run countries(be4 you say they arent all the top honchos are ex) they have no idea of market values, just the I ordered you to do that. But having said that this really does take the cake, you cant dream up stuff like this, well a normal person cant.
  4. They dont make money from ex pats I think as most would avoid paying the extra, I know I dont pay it.
  5. It asks that any non english certificates have translations made surely it doesnt mean the Thailand ones like Divorce or Change of name. Thanks for any help
  6. I live here and it is a discomfort on my hourly morning walk, where I now wear my mask under my chin so my 70 year old lungs can get enough air, I get a lot of beeps each morning, dont know if they are ok with it or not, i guess some are ok as they wave or maybe they are shaking their fists at me. I will however still be fully masked up in crowds or in supermarkets and such.
  7. Braver than I am gunga din, Im sorry but its more dangerous for the person crossing as well as someone behind you will scoot either outside or inside you and hit the person who is crossing
  8. Thats exactly what I dont want to do, cant stand having to lock a big amount away for various times and I like to have sensible insurance not some that has been put in place for no good reason.
  9. What I need to get my head around I think, is do you close the O-A and then apply for an O or a 90 day visa and then apply for the Marraige visa. Sorry I know the question is very messy but I over think some things, mainly those to do with my continued stay in Thailand, so if you can make heads or tails of it, any setting me on the right path would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I have a yellow needle book which I was issued when I joined the Australian Air Force 43 years ago, I just added my vax certs into it along with my booster.
  11. Yes used it for my latest report, got the filled in form by email and then the approved on the as advertised 3 days
  12. Well my province said I need covid insurance, I dont know how to get around that.(sorry wont say which province dont like rocking boats 555)
  13. Presented myself for my 90 day report today as I wanted to ask about isurance for my soon to be required extension of stay, the nice friendly people have been moved out and non helpful inserted, all I got was covid insurance was also required as well as the other already useless insurance. I tried searching but came up with policies of over 2000 baht a month, with very high prices for a years worth of cover(the insurance conglomerate must be rubbing their hands). My question is has anyone come up with a more user friendly price for a fully vaccinated old codger.
  14. Does having no mirrors make it unroadworthy(it should as it damgerous when they turn their head and body to check behind or move without checking) Having straight through exhaust Im sure there are many more especially in regard to tyres. All the RTP would have to do is fine all those that are and they would have enough money to have every officer mobile on a bike within a month, plus save many lives.
