  1. Take a songtow all the way to the end of Jomtien road one evening and there a a couple Thai seafood restaurants that have tables right on the waterfront ;-)

That's pretty charming. Next to the beach is hard to beat. Can be windy sometimes. Easy access though.

The Glass House on the beach mentioned earlier is special. (you need a car). Nice atmosphere. A bit expensive and hi so but casual on the beach.

Also very impressive in that same area is Rimpa Lapin. Very cool scene happening up there. Food, creative architecture, views.

Really awesome. Memorable evening. Need reservations.

  2. I have not looked, but I bet FOX is going bonkers over the 2 vetoes.

Saint Reagan had 78 vetos and Obama has 2.

FOX news will be at war with reality if you turn on the TV I bet.

Perhaps you should have looked before you made your ignorant post

    ----------------------------------------------------

    From Wikipedia:

    Barack Obama
    Main article: Barack Obama
December 30, 2009: Vetoed H.J.Res. 64, Making further continuing appropriations for fiscal year 2010, and for other purposes. Override attempt failed in House, 143-245, 1 present.[37]
October 7, 2010: Vetoed H.R. 3808, the Interstate Recognition of Notarizations Act of 2010. Override attempt failed in House, 185-235 (280 required).[38]

Wikipedia? Just about anybody can log in there and change things. I'll bet there are FOX viewers logging in there all the time changing data.

OK. Lets assume it good info. I'll let you add 2.

    Saint Reagan had 78 vetoes.

    Obama 4.

  3. 2 people killed and over 20 injured.

    Watch that video.

Watch the trajectory. Line it up with the gun smoke and the impact onto the concrete/stone footpath.

    Open your eyes.

Clearly that shot missed the cops head but he was already gunned down moments earlier.

    Dead? I don't know.

That was reported as a head shot.

    See what I mean ??

    Sloppy sloppy

Yes Donnie. We see what you mean. Now try to relax a little bit before you pop a vessel. Worried about you.

  4. I think you should rent a car or hire a driver to get the most out of the trip.

Drive down to Bang Saray (30 minutes)for some seafood and see a nice tranquil beach town.

On that same trip, you could see that Buddha Mountain, cruise a bit furthur to stop at scenic SilverLake Winery, then over to that huge Chinese Temple on the way.

At that temple, buy some bread and feed the fish in the lake.

A trip up to see the Buddha on the hill overlooking Pattaya Bay is nice The girlfriend can show mom how to make an offering up there too. The monk will spay some holy water and tie a string on the arm. On that hill hop over to Cabbages and Condoms for a meal. Then hop over to Cosy Beach and have coffee/dessert at Twins Cafe. Nice atmosphere in that area overlooking the ocean.

Agree on staying away from Pan Pan Italian. It's OK but they charged me for bread! Italians always give you bread, no charge.

It's not the money, but shows they are greedy. Not nice.

    LaBocca & Gians are great.

I usually go to LaMerenda, on Second Rd. 100 meters away from Soi 7. Not as fancy and not air conditioned but something nice about the food and family there. And he make the bread fresh. Nice.

PM me if you want to know my secret Thai Seafood place.

  5. Just seen a news report on Al Jazeera where Thai authorities are now blaming the slide in oil prices for the slump in tourism....how many more excuses can they find apart from the truth???

The price of oil is responsible for the crash of the Ruble and the crash of the Ruble is responsible for fewer Russian tourists coming to Pattaya. What is odd about hat? For sure there are other reasons but the price of oil is one.

On the other hand, airplane fuel is cheaper and the average person has around $1,000 extra pocket money from their yearly gas budget.

The Russians are hurting but the rest of us are in better shape because of the oil glut.

  6. The Army recently inspected the beaches and found around 500 umbrella vendors occupying 95% of the beach even though regulations called for a 50% open areas.

Crooked City staff sold it! I believe they are headed to court and jail.

Around 250 vendors think they bought it from criminals working at City Hall. cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

  7. I was at the beach today, took a picture. Tourists have voted.

Thousands of tourists are now enjoying the open beach space, previously illegally occupied to force tourists to pay!

    post-229739-0-30339000-1420790241_thumb.

    Again.

Why do the umbrella people set up thousands of umbrellas/chairs that are not being used?

Is it to prevent tourists from using the beach and forcing them to pay?

Locate the business' across the road in commercial space, then a tourist can go hire a chair & umbrella if they wish.

    Agreed?

  8. It's much easier for you to shoot the messenger than answer with rational, sourced arguments

That is because the messenger - YOU - has been caught posting blatant lies over and over again and "rational, sourced" evidence has been produced to prove it. However, you keep posting the exact same discredited nonsense and pretending that no one realizes it. xwacko.png.pagespeed.ic.jGW10VtQsIjGnz8w

You spend allot of time calling others liars. You just posted that about me in another thread a few minutes ago....

    My suggestion? Grow a brain.

  9. FOX news broadcasters actually perpetuate & reinforce this nonsense, say 100% of the textbooks get it wrong on evolution and global warming is a scam?

Another blatant lie, from a poster who seems to specialize in them. You have been told before that a GUEST on Fox made the remark about textbooks and evolution - not a broadcaster.

What kind of person defends FOX news? I'm not saying you are stupid but you do know they target the religious & low IQ demographic.

  10. Any recommendations for a scooter with a floor board style chassis vs. the driveshaft space used for carrying packages? And a more powerful engine than the Honda Wave? For two people riding with a total weight of 140-150kg, 125cc engines are a bit skimpy on the hills. And is there a recommended shop or two to buy from, preferably with a credit card. What price range are we looking at for 125cc/200cc scooters?

Honda SH150i from Asia City Motors priced around 90,000bt.

They will bring it right to your door.

  11. Am I right in saying that there are now fines for littering in the beach areas--and the army are involved in the changes?

Not quite, there have always been fines for littering and have nothing to do with the changes or the Army. In fact, the dirtiest sections on the beach are the free public areas because nobody is responsible for maintaining the area and City lacks the resources to do so. The beach concessionaire as a condition of their license must main their area. My section of the beach is spotless. If you want trash go to the free area.

The vendors that illegally turned the beach into a dirty shanty town slum are keeping the beach clean?

They do sweep up but unfortunately bury the trash in the sand and the tide washes it away.

    Funny.

Also I guess you were not aware of the big Jomtien cleanup ceremony yesterday and the large cleanup staff raking the nice new beach areas.

Those areas look like a postcard now. Nice.

  12. Now that the illegal chair people have been evicted and open space has been restored, thousands are now able to enjoy beach as it should be.

This is really hurting the chair rentals (see above photos)

Will the greedy vendors retake the beach to force us back into the stinky chairs I wonder?

  13. Yes ThaiBob, Jomtien. That's where I stay.

The city has evicted the illegal chair/umbrella people and the tourists are lovin it.

The newly open beach areas are very popular. Thousands of people using the open space today.

Strange you are bent on defending the criminals that commandeered the beach to prevent visitors from enjoying the sand.

I understand you like the chair setup. There still is plenty. Too many.

I went and redid my brief beach survey today with photos.

-Less than1% of the beach umbrella chairs are occupied today.

Maybe 1 tourists for every 300 chairs in reality.

Why do they set up like that without any customers?
