The beach looks beautiful, but empty.  Where would I go to buy a drink, food etc.  When the authorities remade the beach, surely they could have constructed a dedicated strip between the road and the beach for food/drink carts.  The vendors would be kept off the beach and those using the beach would have easy access to food and drink.

Wait a moment!  I'm using common sense here ????

The truth that they have shops, and restaurants on the other side of the road.

Only if one could drive to them and/or find a parking spot from the encroaching vendors....

But "common sense" may suggest that anyone should allow to setup shop anywhere without permits ...right? ????

will the school minibuses have to have car seats for the under 6's

Will taxis offer the same mandatory child seats?

Or baht buses a seat belt?

Or both belt/ child seat for those in the bead of pickups?

Understand that they want to start somewhere.

But think perhaps a very strict have driving license, or no drunk driving would be a better first step to general road safety and less fatal accidents.

Seriously a 1 bed apartment and you talk school fee's....

Give your head a wobble, not every expat has children and those that do would not be choosing a 1 bed apartment to call home.

Was some sample price, even with one or another can't fit to 30k and "comfortable" in same sentence...

Never said anything about everyone have a child, or need to live in 1 br.

( But if you so inclined to get specific, I have a child, live in a 2 br, and definitely cost a lot more than 30k a month to feel comfortable)

Average Bangkokians live comfortably with 30,000THB per month,

    Highly debatable.

    But doubt that is comfortable.

    As for expats,

A decent 1 br apartment in downtown cost about 15-30k a month alone...

    School fees?

Even a bilingual/English program will set one back about 8-10k a month, with international schools the limit the sky.

Add transportation, maybe indulge a bottle acceptable wine...

30k, not even for Thais it is comfortable. Get by, ok. If childless and hole up in somewhere very simple.

Nationals of Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia and Malaysia can opt to obtain their Border Pass for entry, which does not require travel insurance.

So they continue with the " multiple clarification" of tourists.

Once double standards, always double standards.

That habit won't die here anytime soon!  ????
