"As of Sept 30, the number of Thailand Elite Card holders was 11,132. Most come from China, Japan, South Korea, Britain and the US. Markets with the highest growth rate in the fiscal year were China (up 52%), followed by the US and Germany (44% each), France (31%) and Britain (29%).Oct 16, 2563 BE"
THat is the 500k-1 million 5-20 yrs, no investment.
why would 10000 ppl rush to throw away 32 million bath for a work permit and a 5 yr temporary residency permit?
makes zero sense.
Curious how much it cost to develop this great idea?

nonsense
Exactly!
I don't think in the big effort to wrap this quickly they really think over that answer.
For online shopping, one will still need not only the 16 digit card number, but a correct expire day/year, and the 3 digit CVV ( card verification value) code too....
Truly magical if one can randomly generate all that.

That was not Yingluks fault.
The then democrat governor of Bangkok refused to open drainage gates to allow water to flow through the city to pumping stations south of the city. Downtown Bangkok remained dry as a result whereas your house and mine got flooded.
True to a point.
But who is the higher up?
A city governor or a prime minister?
If Bangkok gets a few cm water, and we would have 50cm, my house would stay dry...
Meanwhile, where the ppl were supposed to stay? Evacuation? Help?
Yingluck is (partially) responsible.

Wow!!! Do you can't use your brain? What SHE had to do with the flood? The flood start in July and she started her job on 5th August. What do you think she could have done? Use a magic wand or do a "Stop Rain Dance"?
The old government and the military were responsible for this.
But it is always easier to blame the newcomers for the mistakes. She was in position to order/speed up water discharge months before she made the decision to flood my area...
But chose to worry about some areas Bkk not getting 5cm flood, or raising barricades around some industrial park.
I know, hard on your brain to think logically...
But more...
As prime minister she took little to give help to the ppl, who got often their whole life ruined.
The one time 5k thb was nothing, the front door cost more.
But what would a keyboard warrior like you know?
How to explain someone the difference between a flash flood of 20 cm water, and a 2 months 2 meter deep continuous flood in an area haven't seen any for decades?
If you were there, watching your furniture and belongings float, and your house ruined, you would look at thing differently.

More competition + less welfare.
Article said, an entrepreneur.
Recognized Thailand as a bad business decision?

The 2011 flood, greatly thanks to Jingluck's action caused my house about 1 million baht total damage.
In desperation to spare fully some high so parts of Bkk, we got 2m water in our street for 2 months.
A series of wrong decisions trying to save what is "important" for them, turning the potential moderate flood levels in areas not flooded for decades into a man made disaster to many.
The one time 5000thb competition didn't solve things.
Her action rubbed years of hard work from me, and a few million others.
No excuse and no forgiveness!

We all know Thai ppl would love to find a way when only the foreign money comes but without the tourists.
So far only the bar girls come up with the best solutions, but even they know that on the long run it doesn't work.
Either the girl screw the tourist, or the girl screw herself.
There is no free meal on the long run.
Can like it or not, millions of Thai ppl's livelihood depend on the tourism industry, directly or indirectly.
If they would be so concerned, there are other points to get answers to, like why Thailand has a vaccine factory but unable to provide sufficient amount to itself still,
Or why the rush to vaccinate the least vulnerable 12-18 group, but not their parents who they actually depend on??
These polls only add to the confusion on top the ever changing proposals, rules, mulls, requirements for travel, that anyhow is likely to keep most foreigners away for yet another high season.
The good news for that 60% in this poll ( that probably made to order to show the desired result they chose...1392 ppl...such a round number. But maybe plays well next week's lottery as lucky number)

RIP motorbike man.
regards Worgeordie
This case, taking responsibility a little too late.
He shouldn't have been responsible before/during the takeover, and wouldn't kill a man.
No guy in prison, or a wai, or even 50k thb "compensation" will do good for the dead man's family.

Until the government can't commit to a decision, and keep "mulling", no workers will be in rash to come back to cities to find they spent money to travel back and rent a place, only to be lied again and their supposed employee can't open/forced to close shop.
This is actually playing out many places globally too. People tired of the uncertainty. Tired that any moment a "new wave" can force close their jobs.
And some just happy to sit with a little subsidy and the potential handout food.
Meanwhile they can enjoy subsided vacation and flights with food vouchers, if they have any money left to pay the other half.

Prayuth made his own case regarding the debate about him should or not stay on beyond 2022....
NO!

Time to decide: if vaccination is the key, then Phuket could be opened fully as "sandbox" with any and all quarantine scraped for vaccinated foreigners.
There the majority of locals vaccinated.
If vaccination isn't the answer, the time to drop the pretense that the situation is likely to change from 1st Nov, or any time soon regarding travel and tourism.

Conde Nast is a travel magazine, "awarding" their advertisers mainly with faked top lists.
Always have been this way, but if wasn't sure before, the 2021 list is a proof, with Thailand literally been in full lockdown the 2nd year...yet ko kood, ko lanta, hua hin, Bangkok are prominent features....
Almost more hotels listed there the the total number of tourists TAT could produce for the sandbox!!

If you think those situations are comparable in any way I am surprised. Those at the funeral will be wearing masks.
So you suggest if those pesky political protesters would only be pledging to wear a mask they would be happily granted the freedom to protest against their great leaders, the general and co.?

Breaking news: Anutin praised for the sun coming up this Saturday morning.
On a sidenote, there are rumors debating this, suggesting this achievement accomplished by Prayuth.
There is no consensus yet which one's reputation is in more dire needs for a desperate boost.
A close race in the moment, a very close race!

Fake! So untrue. Many publications contradict this nonsense of oxygen level that drop. I can even run with a ffp2 mask. No issues at all.
While perhaps it isn't as bad for oxygen or whatnot,
I would be careful to come to the conclusion in the end that face mask would help in breathing either... ????
If you enjoy running around in a mask, keep doing it, personally I find it a negative thing when running.

Other articles on other sites are referring specifically to the charge being on " foreign tourists"
How to differentiate between a Cambodia family coming for holiday, vs a European guy returning to his family to a visit to his parents in his home country?
Who is actually the "tourist" ?

This idea would fly well if there would be 40 million tourists lining up like 2 yrs ago...
But the moment it isn't the case.
Alienating tourists at the get go is not the policy for this situation.
Besides, this doesn't specify tourists, but entering Thailand:
2 hours ago, webfact said:Every man, woman and child who enters Thailand from January 1st will have to pay 500 baht for the privilege.
Will that apply to the cheap migrant labour they are in dire need too, despite the unemployment being at a high?
Bcos I don't think most from Myanmar will cheer to this privilege either.

Finally a lucky break for TAT.
They were long and hard on the hunt for bringing in the wealthy...
Now they got a list of names to approach!

+10% to get one shot.
If this time have enough vaccine, not that big stretch really.
After all, they claimed earlier 700k to 1 million shot on selected days...
But, as often, there may be a big gap between the communicated "hopes" vs reality.
Like re-opening date in 100 days. Was an explicit Prayuth hope too.
Yet... reality?

SCB deny customer data leaked to dark web - bank go after posters of fake news

To date this "fake news" still is painting about the most likely scenario of what may have happened, a deep contrast to the 'official' multi gangs with multi methods the same night, by coincidence, randomly generated acct numbers too...
