  1. Every NFL American football season, those of us that have stuck with Truevisions wonder if they will televise games. This year is no different as I have been told by their call center that they won't know until close to the season, probably when the first games are played, as usual.

I did some checking with NFL Digital Care which is part of NFL Game Pass. Previously, you needed a VPN to get a US address. That has all changed, and in fact, people will be using a VPN in the US to get a foreign address, as NFLGame Pass is now Global. In Asia, in fact, there will be no blacked out games. I told the person I am not with the military and not living on a military base, but rather would be watching in my house in Bangkok, Thailand. That, he said, is no problem. They have a US zone, Canada, European zone and then a zone they call Rest of World (RoW), which Asia is part of.

You would need to use an XBox One, Apple TV, computer, Amazon Fire TV, or several different types of Phones and tablets. I am waiting on an answer to see if they replay games (probably) due to time zone differences. YouTube and play station have packages of programs, including NFL Game Pass, which cannot be viewed outside of the US. NFL Game Pass International cannot be viewed in the US. Things have changed.

  2. Thanks Jai Dee. Kodi for Dummies is great, but I still have a question about time differences. With TrueVisions I have. PVR to record middle of the night American football games. Using Kodi (I have Express VPN) is there a way to record the programs, or do you have to watch it only at the times it's broadcast?

I do know you can get Game Pass (American football on X Box One S - you pay for it) and that may be the way to go, but how do the Brits get by with time differences?

  3. I had a long talk with True Visions about billing. It seems, somewhere along the line, where you used to get 2 boxes per subscription, it has been changed, without notice. Hence for my second box, which for 20 years came along with the subscription, at some point they have been charging me an extra THB 5,000 per year. It has not been announced
    anywhere.

As you know, if you've ever asked for a breakdown of the bill, it is impossible to understand. At a function last night, I asked many people( including several Thai's) and they didn't know about this change either. You can pay either 1 month at a time, but most pay either 6 months or a year at a time and you don't see this extra added in. Another reason to look for alternatives.

  4. Permanent Residency
With it there is no need for extensions, 90 day reports and etc.

Ubonjoe, the problem I seem to run into is with no re-entry permits, pretty much every Thai (except the Immigration Police) think you are in the country illegally. I really wish some of the seniors would make it known that there is such a thing as a PR and what is needed and not needed. Yesterday, trying to register at a government hospital was a nightmare.

  5. If you go through the entrance to the Premium Lane (in between the 2 main immigration halls) there is an Immigration office on the right hand side before the counters. That is where I applied.
Make sure you have the name, address and ID card number of a Thai guarantor (no idea why that is required). You also need at least 6 months remaining on your current re-entry.

And lf you don't have a re-entry permit which PR's are not required to have?

  6. Any PR try to get a Patient card at a government hospital with expired re-entry permits? OMG, I thought they were going to arrest me. They kept talking about the Immigration Police and I said us, I want to see them. Finally, my Dr. who speaks English understood it and things went smoother after that.

He said its kind of an opposite document. You get the re-entry permit to go out first and then re-enter within one year. He is a brilliant man and they understood it then.

It's not a TV, it is a computer, and on the chatline I was told they could not do anything about the screen for the movies or cancel the TV series I have finished. They are just a dead loss.

I watch it on my IPad and have zero problems. My guess it is an issue with your computer. There must be some way to adjust the video screen on your computer. I doubt Netflix came into Thailand and used the size that exactly fits only tablets.

  8. New Truevisions topic: if you have a PVR with a satellite box, you will lose everything you have recorded and were saving. Truevisions, while not announced, has reconfigured the PVR from their offices. You need to then have their subcontractors come to your house and reset your PVR to meet their new configuration. It happened on my wife’s PVR yesterday and my PVR today.

Also, you will not be able to record anything new until they come to your house. At first, they will tell you to pull the e Sata plug and reconnect it. That won’t work. Then they will tell you to reboot, but that also won’t work.

They could have saved money by telling the sub contractors to fix all PVR’s at once, instead of back and forth, but they don’t.

Come to think of it, maybe this is CP’s way of keeping their subcontractors working and to hell with their customers.
