  1. I called their call center, and after being transferred 4 times, I found out absolutely nothing that I didn’t already know. As Jai Dee wrote, the channels will turn to black. Also I was told that Truevisions does not have any websites in English language and the young lady had no idea about which channels starting from the 13th would be unavailable.

I have seen the same messages also and the unavailable's where all the True Channels, like channel 222,223, 559,560,561 etc etc so NOT for example Fox etc. Sorry I don't have a list

I also have seen a message that from the 2?th-29th ALL channels will have ONLY government approved content !

Yeh, they only tell you the channels unavailable from the 25th to 30th, but the English message on the tv mentions other channels unavailable from the 13th to the 30th and to know what these are, “True”refers you in English to a website with no English.

  3. Jai Dee, Truevisions has a message in English stating to go to a website and it will list the programs unavailable from Oct. 13th to the 30th. Of course the website on FB is all in Thai language. Where can I find the list unavailable starting from the 13th in English? Thank you.

  4. True has filled in all of the time slots that were TBC and there are no NFL football games scheduled.  The Game that starts tomorrow morning at 0730 now shows NCAA Basketball.  However, the Sports illustrated TV schedule still shows "TBC" for all those time slots.

I did get the following message from True via email last night " With respect to your email, we, TrueVisions Care,  would like to inform you that NFL 2018 is in negotiation progress and further update will be announce before the new season."  I sent them one back stating that I wasn't concerned about the 2018 season but the 2017 season which starts in 29 hours.  I got no response from Sports Illustrated, as usual.

I guess that it will be turn on the TV tomorrow morning and see if there's a game anywhere and if not consider Game Pass!  It wa the same BS with True last year.

I'm still hoping they meant to say 2017 and not 2018. I have called True to go from Platinum to Gold and the girl that called back sounded surprised when I said why and I added that if they don't lose it, then I will stay Platinum. What was really interesting is she didn't ask why. I told her, which left the impression that she is used to people either downgrading or canceling altogether.
  5. One other comment on this is Truevisions didn't televise any college games last week, an indication that despite saying they are negotiating, they probably lost their negotiations already, despite still advertising the NFL on Truesports. A friend, who knows several seniors at the parent company sent them an email today, but we don't expect that they will show it. Tomorrow I will talk with AIS and see their plans. Then there is Game Pass. I need to better understand Kodi etc. as well.

  6. I'm expecting/hoping the second game on Sunday to be SEA vs. GB (the other 4:25 game is CAR vs. SF) followed by the NYG vs. DAL (SNF) and the NO vs. MIN and Chargers vs. DEN both on MNF, forgot about occasional multiple MNF games.

So the 00:00 game is unknown with the best option maybe being OAK vs. TEN? Obviously, the kick-off game is KC at NE, Friday, Sep. 8 07:30 local Thai time.

The TrueVisions on-TV schedule and their web-schedule still show TBC. FWIW, I didn't realize it, but my TrueVisions box was set to 720p; and I thought that was the max., but I was able to reset it to 1080i. I also updated the firmware on the box (hold exit, PIN is 2485); the regular box PIN is 2321. TrueVisions CS can talk you through this if you encounter problems. (I'm on traditional coax-cable.)

TBC typically means To Be Confirmed, and so used as a filler. I don't think Curling kicks off until the colder months?

My sense is that all replays will be games which they previously showed live, rather than replays of games not previously shown. Although I think TrueVisions did replay games for the first time in previous years. Most games are streamed live, and can be found - you can run Kodi (16 or a 16 fork on the AIS Playbox), and torrents can be found for all games, albeit a few hours (OK, 4 - 8 hours for the site I use) after completion.

I would need help on that as I recently ran AIS to the house and they gave me their box for free for a year. I haven't connected it as I have a PVR and would use it for Truevisions for the middle of the night NFL games. Of course all of this might change.

  7. To be confirmed, to be changed, curling, la cross? The bottom line is it is still in negotiation. Can S1 be decoupled from the NFL games? If so, is there another competitor trying get the NFL games for Thailand? AIS? We will know nothing until Friday morning. If. We don't get it from anyone this year, then why keep Platinum? Anything could change at anytime. Check out Game Pass, but remember you would need a vpn to pick Game Pass up in a country where you can.

  8. Wayned, I'm with you, but little by little Truevisions gives its subscribers reasons to change. I have an AIS box which I haven't even connected, but if AIS gets American football, things will change. As it is, I have been buying the dvd's of shows Truevisions used to show, but once they became popular, they were dumped. Homeland and House of Cards to name two.

  9. Wayned, thanks for the valuable info. It's not the LNB. I will hook up one of the other units and if no problem, it's the new unit. If the same problem, probably a connection.

Usually I don't have problems with technicians coming out as I tip at least Thb 100 on each visit. I learned this 20 +'years ago and they always show up. If the service is really good, I tip more. It works globally.

    Again, thanks for the info.

They came today and showed me how I needed a new inline amp, so I bought a new one and they gave a new
LNB unit and new cables and it's much better.

  10. The LNB problem will normally show up as a total loss of signal with the "no signal" message on the screen or broken/scrambled video that you sometimes get with sun outage.  The plastic cover cracks due to t5he climate and water gets into the unit. If your problem is only showing up on the new box, it's not the LNB but most likely a defective unit and you most likely will have to throw a "farang fit" to get a new one unless it goes tits up when the technician is at your home.  I'm good at throwing ":farang fits" as I have lived here over 19 years.

  11. Before  you jump on the LNB, it could be something as simple as them not securely connecting the input coax firmly to the new unit. I would do the following:  Turn the unit off and unplug it for about 2 minutes.  Make sure that the antenna connection is tightened down securely.  Plug the unit back in and turn it on,  See what happens.

Wayned, I want to be sure that the problems I'm having are the same you had, as I did reboot etc. However, on my set, about once or twice an hour, the person on the TV show will say something, the picture will still be there, but there is no sound and you miss that part. It only lasts a few seconds or a bit more, but you lose the subject.

Also, sometimes, the screen goes grey and you miss a minute.

This all started when they gave me a new satellite box, but I kept the old remote as I'm used to it. Somehow, it isn't all synchronized. I doubt it would happen when they are there, but it continually happens. Was this similar to the problems you had?

By the way, I also have 3 connections, but pay for two. Last year, when I wanted to downgrade to gold from platinum, I was told I would have to pay for the third, even though they gave it to me via a special deal about 8 years ago.

  12. Seems that you have confirmed that it's a True problem.  The last time that it happened to me it turned out to be the LNB on the antenna.  Of course when they finally showed up everything was working fine and I had to throw a "farang fit" to get them to change it but it fixed the problem.

Thanks for the info on the LNB on the antenna. They were at the house changing my old satellite box for a new one and I thought something went wrong with the PVR hook up to the box. The problems didn't start until about 10 minutes after they left, but I will look into the LNB, especially since right now, I don't have a clue what it is (but I will soon).
    Thanks
  13. TrueVision to pay extra compensation for HBO cancellation

    By USANEE MONGKOLPORN

    THE NATION

TRUEVISIONS will pay additional compensation to around 1,000 the subscribers who exited its platinum and gold packages during January 1 to 25, after the company’s cancellation of six HBO channels on December 31, said Natee Sukonrat, chairman of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission’s broadcasting committee.

The broadcasting committee day voted three to one to order TrueVisions to pay add-on compensation to those exiting subscribers. Then it called in TrueVisions to ask if it agreed with the conclusion.

True chief content and media officer Birathon Kasemsri na Ayudhaya said the company agreed with the panel’s resolution.

  14. On golf shown by True Vision, I have seen all the LPGA tournaments this and last year. They don't have tournaments every week and are never shown on the Golf Channel. I have a PVR and go to Search, type in LPGA and find out when they are shown and what True Visions Sports Channel they will be televised on. Same with PGA events. If you expect to see them on the Golf Channel, you won't. Often it is the middle of the night so I record them.

  15. Just so you know, the much awaited upgrade of whatever it was, never happened. I talked to a customer service rep today, and not hearing the usual countdown, surmised they trashed it, but called anyway to make sure I hadn't done anything wrong.

It seems, at the end of the day, after all the newspaper articles, they, for a reason never explained, decided not to do it. The girl said she had already received numerous complaints. Since it was never clearly explained to begin with, I couldn't care less, but do see humor in it. After spending so much on PR and fanfare, it seems they were hoping nobody really paid any attention to it (whatever it was) and canceled it.
