Could anyone find clear rigid PVC pipes in Thailand. I am looking for 2'' diameter size. Perhaps 10'' or 15'' in length.
No chance, looked for many months, sorry.

How was this determined?
Only tourists etc have Covid 19!

Thailand can carry on blocking entry to everyone. The Junta are as everyoner knows rascist and certainly do not want tourists.
What does it matter, they carry on as normal, every flight carries Covid 19, Thailand can go forward taking advice from N.Korea.

Really? Lets face it until the Thailand Government has a brainstorm then nothing is going to happen!
First they need to agree a fixed date for airlines to be able to fly in tourists....Flights need to be full to make a profit! No airlines are going to start arranging timetables without this.
They need to establish with Airlines and Airports a facility to get at the airport a Covid test and certificate. (This could be arranged easily, Bangkok test on arrival and some Mid East Airports already offer this option.)
14 Day quarantines are a non starter!
Free unrestricted travel in Thailand is a must....nobody will just sit on an Island!
If they cannot effect all the above, then as a tourist destination, you can forget it!
I appreciate Thailand wants to protect the country, but one day they must make manageable decisions!

Until you have a valid vaccine! And even then they will still want a certificate of Virus free and insurance, most likely for ever!

I think this is something different from what the first two posters see, it's not just lending money to farmers it's about foreign funds being allowed to invest in the agricultural sector. If a farmer has a viable business but he can't realise its full potential because he doesn't have any capital ( the article refers to it as liquidity), international investors will have a chance to look at the business and make a decision to invest or not. It's not a blanket hand out or throw away.
Yes, this was very successfully done in Greece about 10-15 years ago, then Greece went like Thai Airways!!

Ok, I will offer my answer....I have a few Chinese friends who told me they are coming to Thailand for 7 days in October, so I asked them how much etc.
3000 Yuan is the price which includes flights, hotels, 3 meals daily and free excursions, so I hardly think they are going to pay 115,000 Yuan for a Visa!!
(And that's repayable over 3 tyears!)
Okay, they are not the "Elite" Chinese, just middle class...but I have never seen the real rich Chinese in Thailand! Maybe I'm wrong, but even they know of other countries with modern facilities!

Sorryy, but all the fuss.
Just go to bank and ask for a Thai currency savings account with a passbook, just though mention you DO NOT want it linked to the card / ATM account and then just leave as is.

Really do we believe the death rates etc? Most countries if not all, are not telling the truth re the death rates.
For example if you go the web site "WHO" and look at the average country death rates expected over the months and years there is a clear discrepancy, for example the UK date rate was 55,000 above normal, Russia was 60,000 above normal and Thailand was 21,000 above normal, there are no comments ever offered about this though.
In fact nearly every countries death rate is above normal. (Note this shows a few lies about how many have died etc)

Tourism in it's many facets are the main revenue earners for millions this country who are part of the hospitality and tourism industries, the government is almost out of money to funds this on going pandemic and yet Thai people are crying for free handout, something got to give here you can expect the government to give freebies for much longer without tourists coming in and very soon...
I'm surpised you think they are out of money...they only reduced interest rates by 0.5% and they still offer more than other Asian countries, they have not actually started any of there grand infrastructure plans, and if you look carefully most are reliant on private investment, (note : Every year they announce new infrastructure but never ever happens, ie Buses, trains, water etc.) They have given a paltry amount to some Thais who are starving thats it!

Which country, at this time has a stronger economy than Thailand? most other countries are in far worse shape and have pledged billions to keep their populations from starving, Thailand has set up a few food kitchens, paid out very little money and pledged very little to sustain the people - at this time! They still have plenty money in the bank, for how much longer who knows, but other nations are getting into far more debt than Thailand is? - as I see it................????
You said it for me....Thailand..Junta / Military Government..They have not now or ever really spent money on the infrastrcture, ...sure they talk a lot about massive investments, but they never actually come to fruition, Dams, Water Supply, Droughts, Railways, Buses, Airlines, Roads, the Land itself.. investment in nothing, so they have lost nothing!

is it an offshore account? I don't know how you open a UK onshore account without having a UK address and being able to prove residency, by rental contract, utility bill etc. That has been the law for a good few years.
It is an international account, available to residents of many countries, it is not regulated by the UK regulators, read the Santander info supplied.

I have a Standard bank account, been my main account for the past 10+ years, opened with a Thai address.
Yes Standard Bank is okay, it is a South Africa Based Bank.
Certain restrictions as you can see here ie minimum balance, fees etc

Like I said, things may have changed.
I certainly don't pay a fee anything like that level and, although I meet the income requirement, I don't recall that being asked for a non-premier account.
Rules etc change see here:

I use this account with Santander, my pensions are paid into it and I fund my Transferwise transactions from it, I opened it up online from Thailand a couple of years ago.

Correct, but under current rules, minimum balance is £25k for an "international customer" which you would be without a UK proof of residence, ie living in Thailand. (UK resident, no minimum balance)
I have this account, it works....providing you maintain a balance of £25,000 {No interest!!} There is a £20-£30 charge for a non sterling transfer, so always best to transfer as Sterling £.
There a few accounts like this now available.

I think I read something about HSBC letting you open an account in the UK
Unfortunately no longer. It breaches money regulations now with "Open Banking"

Have you tried Lloyds International (Jersey or IoM)? I opened Sterling, USD and Euro accounts without being UK resident and mostly by phone and internet.
It was a few years back so things may have changed, but it can't hurt to ask.
Lloyds bank International require an income proof of £50k per annum or deposit of £25k plus monthly fee of £7.50p

You should be careful promoting Chiropractors for back pain.
There are countless reasons for back pain and even "Nigel" would agree the problems can be made much worse by manipulation!
Before you agree to any treatment like a Chiropractor, you should establish what is the cause:
Is it:
Ligament, Muscle, Nerve, Bone, Displaced discs, wear and tear, Age, general health, weight, lack of exercise, poor posture, infections, vitamin deficiency, Kidney Stones, multiple bone fractures, ie Osteoporosis, Arthritis or as often a combination etc.
Mine for example is Spinal Muscular Atrophy....and any Chiropractor would run a mile before offering treatment knowing this prognosis.
You should consider first of all:
- X-ray. These images show the alignment of your bones and whether you have arthritis or broken bones. These images alone won't show problems with your spinal cord, muscles, nerves or disks.
- MRI or CT scans. These scans generate images that can reveal herniated disks or problems with bones, muscles, tissue, tendons, nerves, ligaments and blood vessels.
- Blood tests. These can help determine whether you have an infection or other condition that might be causing your pain.
- Bone scan. In rare cases, your doctor might use a bone scan to look for bone tumors or compression fractures caused by osteoporosis.
- Nerve studies. Electromyography (EMG) measures the electrical impulses produced by the nerves and the responses of your muscles. This test can confirm nerve compression caused by herniated disks or narrowing of your spinal canal (spinal stenosis).
Many people who are overweight or do no exercise suffer from Back / Hip / knee Pain etc, its a simple fact "too much weight"! You would be amazed how just losing say a few stones in weight can change your life!
Anyhow, as a long time sufferer the choice is yours! I agree that Nigel has a very good reputation...Good luck!
P.s "Some" of us would be amazed how Yoga can improve the bodies ability to remove pain.

Exact same for me. I've bought Sony, Samsung, LG and TCL flat screen TV's and only the LG stopped with board failures and a quote of 5000 to repair. I just sent them to landfill and avoid LG ever since, pity really as they may have improved their product but more than once already was taking the proverbial.
Luck of the draw I think...I have 3 LG TV's in my home, two in bedrooms etc, all over 4 years old and the only thing I've bought is two universal Remote controls!
Washing Machine and Freezer also LG's no problems!

This is Thailand, rents will not really go down, (might be lower at present, but they will go back up soon) they would rather leave empty.
As to cleansing.. Ha Ha! You live in Thailand!
Darkside has a far better choice of properties, but shopping and traffic issues are a never ending problem.

You maybe Non Resident for Tax Purposes, but your domicile is as per passport, ie UK Resident for Domicile, that would only change if you gave up your right of abode in the UK and had Domicile / passport in another country.
