  1. Personally, as a retired senior Financial Adviser I would say that even Bonds and trusts are highly volatile in the current climate, in past weeks even they have dropped in value by 15%+ and may even default and as for Equities many days teyt have dropped in value well over 5% daily and a few times 10% and likewise may default.   I would suggest you remain in diversified cash and similar ie zero loss assetts for say at least 6 months, then slowly build up a portfolio of medium to low investments according to your fear attutude!

Of course many may scoff my response, but I would point out Equities in general are worth less now than say 2008 ie 30-40% drop in value.

    Best wishes!

I've wondered this myself. Maybe better to tattoo on you "i have no money, you will not be paid if you resuscitate me, so don't, thank you"

A waste of time, better having a tattoo saying no money and a bank book with a 100 baht balance!

  3. Sorry but Worldwide the Corona Virus is only just getting started!!

What with Italy now in full shut down and the Virus spreading uncontrolled in most EU countries the outlook can only get worse.

As to coming to Thailand for a hoilday....no chance!   The isue is many think Thailand are lying through there teeth, plus we may end up in quarantine on arrival in Thailand, then quarantine when going back to there country!

No one in there right mind is going to get on a plane for say 13 hours with recirculating air just for a holiday!!

I want to go to Thailand soon, its boring here in the UK! Supermarkets selling out of certain goods, football matches no crowds, shows cancelled etc, even my GP Surgery is closed for "cleaning" and I was turned away. A&E at the hospital queing up out the doors!

I expect it to get much worse before it gets better!  Sorry but thats how it is!

As an ad lib: I am sure many know that Viruses mutate very easily and lets be honest thats what Country leaders are scared about....what if the Corona Visrus mutates into something worse?

We had problems with neighbours dogs getting in and killing our chickens.  Laws are needed here to make owners responsible for damage their animals do.   We solved the problem at personal expense and build walls around the property.  (The dogs were digging under or breaking through the bamboo and wire fences before).

But, now we have a problem with cats.  The population of them is growing rapidly in the street as no one 'fixes' their pets, so they have so many kittens.  Now they come onto the property and spray urine all over the place, scratch the seats of our motor bikes, and kill our parakeets through the aviary mesh at night.  They also scream and fight in the early hours and set our dogs off barking, which causes the neighbours to complain to us that our dogs are noisy!!

I can understand (but not condone) why some people get so frustrated with these cats they will take matters into their own hands.

Owners of expensive pedigree cat breeds have no problem stopping their cats roaming.  They are cared for properly, kept in the house, and have a large run / aviary in the garden for exercise and sunshine.

The owners of most  'normal cats'  simply don't care enough about their pets, and are lazy, just letting them roam about annoying people, killing wildlife, spreading diseases.  If they get run down, disappear or die from some accident, these owners simply get another cheap or free cat replacement.

    1. yes, DO report it to yr local police. They might care, and there are currently Animal Welfare laws upon which they can enact.

    2. Install cctv. Its THE BEST insurance for if, or rather WHEN, something happens.

    3. No, PLEASE do not buy a "guard dog". Having a dog and taking care of it might be a daily nuisance, and it certainly will be a headache if you go for a trip and need to find a dog sitter. Besides, a "guard dog" might become a liability, it might escape or cause problems.

Must be intimidating to find a cut up animal on yr property. SAD. Dont think though that its a "message" to you...

Plenty of nutters around, foreign and local, I think the local would not realise a camera was on him?  Personally I would fit a camera (real or not) but also a motion sensor floodlight...Ive seen people climbing my 6ft gate getting caught on the spikes badly when the lights come on,  (left the blood on the spikes)

Pepper or chilli powder thrown around your entrance liberally and watch any cat or dog freeze dead at the edge!  They walk carefully around it and scarper, it lasts about a week, so after a month or so doing it, the cats and dogs walk on the other side of the road. No harm done!

Nothing - at least in 99.9% of the cases.

Make sure you change all your passwords and if necessary cancel your credit card and things like that. That's unfortunately all you can (realistically) do.

Clear your history on computer, reset modem / router  password.

Don't order from China , I had to cans x 4. Also on Lazada beware of product claimed to be in Thailand that is actually shipping from China.

All related to virus. I got all my refunds.

I'm surprised, I've been getting stuff from China etc via ali Express, Lazada and     E Bay, no problem this month etc?

Once in a while I think somethings missing, I go down to Banglamung Post office, go upstairs and ask, hey presto, next day delivered! By an apologetic postman.

(Beware though of any FedEx or DHL deliveries...import duty rip off)

  8. Most creals are vacuum filled and really don't have an issue until opened, unfortunately we have humidity in Thailand and cereals will in effect rot etc.

I found the best way is to double bag them and keep in the refridgerator, than never a problem...best Paul

  9. I have seen teachers set the bigger kids up in a fight with the smaller kids, because they are not allowed to hit with the sticks anymore. It is the new way to dicipline the kids they don't like. Sometimes they set a group onto the child. Or encourage all kids to not speak to the for many weeks until the child becomes subservient to the teacher.

There are all sorts of ways to abuse children and old people.

So you were there and have seen this???

Sure, and I expect you tried to stop it as well, sure!
