Read a couple of reports online of landlords not wanting to rent out to foreigners because of all of this. I can't blame the landlords. I wouldn't want the hassle either. But I think a good way is to highlight every time a foreigner can't rent a place to live because of this rule and landlords not wanting to rent to them. If foreigners find it hard to rent here, that just exposes this silly law even more for what it is and the unnecessary trouble it's causing.

I believe that this issue is easy to solve. Just the landlord give this responsibility to the tenant, if he/she fail the landlord will charge any fine on the next rent bill.

  2. Strong Baht not keeping tourist away. Really? So I have to assume that in Pattaya and Phuket everything is fine right now. Beaches crowded of tourists, no complains from business operators, and so on. Then the articles regarding the lack of tourist that I read just a few days ago was fake.  Well I'm glad for you.

  3. The trade war between the US and China is also affecting investment. Investors as well as tourists themselves are running scared.

What does the trade war between the US and China have to do with the decline in tourists? I didn't understand this.  Are the tourists scared ? I believe the tourists are scared of the strong thai currency, rather than of a war of which no one cares, certainly not to tourists

"Repression against the sex industries"? Last time I looked there was still lots of sex on offer. Raids and clamp-downs are nothing new.

Of course the sex offer is not completely over, and it never will be luckily But nothing to do, with what it was years ago. Don't trust of the appearances, Pattaya has changed a lot

  5. Are we surprised about that? This is the result of many year of policy and repression against the sex industries. Let's talk clear: in Pattaya we came for just a single reason and we well know what it is.

All the rest of the entertainment, shopping centers amusement sites and so on.... are just a side dish. Obviously it also has something to do with the strong Baht, the high food pricing in supermarket specially the imported food (despite the strong Baht) etc..

  6. Thai Baht is the problem. Of course the pound has his own trouble due to the brexit but the Baht is growing up against all western currencies for a while and it seems not to want to stop.  I wonder why no one take action against that? That is right?  Is that everything ok for the thai central bank and for  thai  authorities too? They have the power to stop and to reverse it. Why don't they do it? Apparently  for some dark reason of which it's not given us to know, it is ok for them

I was told by  a  uniformed IO at Jomtien, when I asked him directly, no address report required from retirees when returning to the registered home address, from abroad or after internal fravel.

It was told me the same by immigration. I been there upon my return from abroad the cop asked me if I need to report a change of address. I said no, I just need to let you know that I been abroad but my address is the same no changed. He looked my entry stamp and said: ok came back in 90 days

This idea can be rectified for those on retirement visas - Simply add in the cost of healthcare to the visa. Say 15'000 baht for the first visa and then 5'000 baht for all subsequent visas.

You didn't take into account that the insurance premium are linked to the age.

I'll be a pensioner on 67 do you think that I'll pay 15.000 Baht only?
