So what? Laws are not the same in UK and Thailand. It's their country, not your colony. So they make their rules as they like to and you as a guest have to respect them.

You don't have to carry your passport, a copy is enough. What's the problem?

What do you talking about? I didn't talk about thai rules I just contest those who says that you need to carry the original passport with you despite they well aware of the huge drama and discomfort you will experience in case of loss or damage.

What's the problem? Obviously you didn't read all the posts

What a carry on people leaving in hordes victimisation feeling not wanted here,

the UK authorities should do more of this, I for one except the rules of Thailand, it's their country. Live by the rules a happy life follows.

Cheat the system and pay the price Bad people out good people stay.

    Have a great day.

Do you carry your passport with you all the time while you are in UK? I'm living in UK too but I never carry my passport with me, just the ID. No one is trying to cheat the system and in any case has nothing to do with the subject we are discussing here

  3. Moreover, also the thai Baht contributing to complicate things since it growing too strong against western currencies Then due to this overvaluation of thai currency many are struggling to meet the financial requirements ,not to mention the cost of living. In other words, Thailand is becoming too expensive thanks to the Baht as well

If you can pay for your own medical emergencies whatever they may be (i.e - have +/- 5million baht instantly accessible) then you would not become a burden on anyone should the worst happen...

So... to your point... to those who, in the comments, sponsor and incite to 'not obtain' health insurance, how would you pay for your medical emergencies? or are you just hoping to get a way with it.

Harsh I know and I apologise if that upsets any sensitivities, reality is never pretty.

I'm not yet sure what I'll do in my 70's when my insurance premiums have become too expensive for my Wife and I... perhaps a move back to the UK... or perhaps keeping a large chunk in the coffers for an emergency rainy day...  its a tricky issue and not one I'm unsympathetic to, but ignoring the issue, throwing caution to the wind is not a solution, neither is relying on crowd-funding...

    You didn't answer the question

  5. Hi to all

Unfortunately I did a big mistake  when I renewed my 5 year thai driving license because I did it relying  on my tourist visa  while I should have to get a non immigrant first.  And then they issued to me a 2 yrs  license instead the usual 5 yrs  However  I didn’t give much account of that, since I believed that I could get international permit anyway .But unfortunately I found that I can’t do this, and it was told me that I have to wait the expiring of my current license in order to apply for a 5 yrs ones despite now I'm holding a non immigrant visa .  But now I absolutely need the international driving permit since I will leave to Europe for a short period of time. Then my question is: can I do a conversion of my 2 yrs  license to 5 yrs without having to wait the expiring of my 2 yrs  license?

    Thank you

Actually, it is not murder. A charge of 'murder' requires premeditation.

This would be a charge of 'manslaughter' if the victim dies.

It's not a manslaughter it's a voluntary murder. If you hit a head by punches and kicks using brutal force  you are well aware that this can lead a people to death. It's not like as in the movies that they always get up. Therefore no excuses no extenuating circumstances.

I think you will find you will not get an re-entry permit based on a tourist visa. Once you get the Non- Imm O and retirement permit you can then apply for a re-entry permit (single B1900, multiple 3800).

Wrong! I got a re-entry permit based on my tourist visa, 2 years ago, no problem at all. Then are you sure about the fees that you displayed? Single entry is 1000 Baht only ,not 1.900 unless they're changed lately.  But 3.800 for multi-entry is correct
