If everybody played exactly by the rules, the immigration department would lose a lot of revenue and therefore they would put in some more ridiculous rules with associated fines to make up for the loss.
My Thai wife got a permanent resident card for Canada and has no need for a visa and no ridiculous check in requirements. Why can't this country just reciprocate? We live half a year here in Thailand and the other half in Canada.
My visa for Thailand is a one year OA and I still have to check in every 90 days to confirm I am still at the same address. Would it not be prudent for them to say " if you move or change address, please call us" and don't waste half a day going through the hoops. The more I"m here, the better it looks across the ocean.

No police photo op. I ask as well, did this really happen?

Keep a close watch on your purse strings. They think all farangs are millionnaires.
-
Bring in some 1st or 2nd country experts to sort this out. Can't seem to do it on their own.

Maybe they should give out food stamps.

Met people have probably fallen off their motorbikes without helmets again. One day they will get it right.

The only time they look during a lane change is after it is completed and they look to see what missed them. Duhhhhhh

On the lower floor of Big C in Khon Kaen there is a driving school with about 10 simulators. I'm sure his is where Thai drivers get their training.

I guess the proverbial dart thrown by the weather forecaster has landed on tropical storms. Forecasts in Thailand are about as reliable as picking the winning numbers for a lottery.

We had the same thing here in Nong Ruea. Thought we were going to have a real problem as the size of the blob(about 30 ft. up in tree )and for about 2 days it kept getting bigger and bigger. Then a couple of days later we got up and looked out and the whole thing was gone. Sort of seems like a migratory rest break for thousands. The blob at it's biggest was about 2 ft by 1 ft and looked menacing as all get out.

Let her rip the other 358 days of the year?? What a joke.

Just another day in "paradise".

What's wrong with prevention the rest of the year? Or is the rest of the year too ludicrous in baksheesh to tamper with?
Thailand would do well to have the Land Transport dept. run by someone from a second or first world country with the enforcement of southern USA state troopers.

Sounds fishy to me.

Can hardly wait to see how corruption will fit into this. Someone will try to make big baht out of it.
-
Police will just hail the miscreants to the police station, fine them 100 baht and set them free to continue what they were doing.
-
I think the Thai met people have fallen off their motorbikes too many times without a helmet.

All are far too sweet. I wish they would come up with 2 in 1.
