Because of the fat people inside the aeroplane the arodynamics is changing ?
Do a research how many tons of kerosin get released worldwide before every landing and then tell us again that the airlines want to save fuel.

What a load of S*$T. Commercial passenger jets Do Not routinely dump fuel before landing.

Some need to dump fuel in an emergency to reduce the weight to the maximum allowable landing weight, most wide body long range aircraft have fuel dump systems(A380,A350,A330,B787,B777)

Most narrow body, single isle aircraft do not have fuel dump systems

    Do some more research

The 'NO' campaign was non-stop with misinformation, unsupported allegations, assumptions and so on. The PM and 'Yes' supporters failed to counter the nonsense. Dutton should hang his head in shame, I doubt Dutton will ever become PM as he is so divisive.

You are wrong and have misread the mood of Australian voters.

    Typical YES comments.

The only person to hang his head in shame should be Albanese for pissing $400 million dollars up against the wall for his arrogance in not abandoning the referendum when ALL polls indicated YES would lose badly

Does anyone know the history of this 2 year " jail term" ?

Obviously it started when the Liberal Government was in power .

How long has it been in for does anyone know?

Was it Howard or Morris or Tony who brought it in ?

I could even be wrong and it could be Labor who brought the Law in with Julia or the other guy Kevin

Anyway let's hope that Albo's left wing Goverment removes it !!????

Potability Legislation, some info here may answer your questions,

IIRC one needs to be resident in Australia for 35 years to ensure pension eligibility.

The two year rule should not apply as you were in Australia when you became eligible. As I understand it, two years only applies if the applicant is outside Australia when they become eligible.

Definitely appeal the decision, IME front-line staff don't know all the rules. You need an appointment with a Financial Services Officer.

That was not the case for my wife(Thai) who had not been a resident for 35 years, only 27 years. She was granted the full pension in mid February this year.

She now needs to stay 2 years for her pension to become portable.

Thanks mate, appreciate the phone call suggestion and once again, have no doubts it is true, but regardless of what their staff tell me I would still like to see where it’s written on their website first. Until then I’m more than happy to stay put and keep flying TGF here. She loves it here for some reason ????‍♂️ ????

Portability for former residents - Age, DSP

Since 20 September 2000, a former resident who returns to Australia and is granted Age or DSP, or who transfers to Age under SS(Admin)Act section 12, cannot take that pension outside Australia if they leave within 2 years of having resumed residence in Australia. The purpose of this legislation is to discourage people from travelling to Australia just to get an Australian pension to take back overseas.

The 2-year period includes, as separate full days, the day on which the recipient returns to Australia to resume Australian residence and the day on which they leave again.

There is no discretionary power to allow portability of Age or DSP during the 2-year period (note, some exceptions to the 2-year rule apply - see below).

Payment may be suspended for short overseas absences during the 2-year period and does not have to be reclaimed on return to Australia. A short absence from Australia (as long as the person is still classed as an Australian resident) will not impact on the end date of the 2-year period (i.e. the absence still counts towards the person's 2-year period).

What do you mean 'No way do I trust Thai banks'? What do you think they are going to do with your money?

Have it stolen by an employee of the bank, as has happened on numerous occasions in the past.

I don't trust Thai banks either. That's why I keep my ฿800,000 for my Non-Imm O Retirement extensions in my Australian bank.

    Much safer.

    Also pays much better interest

    From the linked article:

"Australia will build a new fleet of eight nuclear-powered submarines in Adelaide"

However, I suppose the vessel could sail to the location where the nuclear reactor was manufactured under conventional power, and then fitted out with the nuclear power plant.

When you read articles such as these, about nuclear material just "falling off the back of a truck in Australia" you can understand the risks involved with transport.

And what conventional power would that be in a sub built to be propelled by a nuclear reactor?
