My guess is that a simple transfer is a reward for silence further punishment may cause them to squeal too loudly and cause great embarrassment to senior people, this in turn may have a detrimental effect on the health and lifespan of the squealers.

So the farang passenger insisted the taxi driver not use the meter.

What really happened.....The passenger got to the airport and saw the meter said zero and he gave the guy 35Bt + 5Bt tip.

I do the same. If the driver doesn't turn on the meter...not MY problem. I never ask them to turn on the meter. I get in and tell them my destination then pay what the meter says. If the meter says zero, I'm fair about it and he gets the minimum fare from me.

I did a count and statistical analysis of crimes reported by Pattaya News for the 6 month period of 1 Aug last year through 1 Feb this year. Results were 84% men, 12% women and 4% ladyboys for involvement in criminal incidents. I think that pretty much puts into perspective that many of you guy's assumptions are incorrect about ladyboys are causing the biggest problems in Pattaya.
